Digital technologies command determines the information and professional competence of a teacher. The first competences help him to organize a modern educational process, others provide access to the latest professional information. Studies show that serious complex strategies for the use of digital technologies are beginning to emerge, and a teacher is becoming a leader in future education. Digital technologies are becoming more complicated and there is an urgent need for new professionals - learning engineers who have to provide new strategies in education. The paper considers a complex of open distance courses for the training of teachers to use new educational technologies. The courses use the results of the annual polls of the world's pedagogical community to identify popular pedagogical instruments. They form teachers’ personal knowledge mastery. This contributes to the development of a personal learning environment and a teacher's personal learning network. The learning engineer's training system should consist of software engineering and the proposed teaching block. The last block includes sections for the formation of skills of personal knowledge mastery, the design of a distance course, the development of the structure, organization of distance and blended learning, expertise of the distance course. All sections of the pedagogical unit were tested in open distance courses at the Research Laboratory of Distance Learning at NTU "KhPI". During 2013-2018 open distance learning courses were learnt by more than 2,600 teachers of Ukraine and 370 of them successfully completed the training. The next step should be to integrate efforts with IT specialists, identify competencies of the learning engineer and prepare a training program for a specialist in the future.

Open online courses provide a unique opportunity to examine learner preferences in an environment that removes several pressures associated with traditional learning. This mixed methods study sought to examine the pathways that learners will create for themselves when given the choice between an instructor-directed modality and learner-directed modality. Study participants were first examined based on their levels of self-regulated learning. Follow-up qualitative interviews were conducted to examine the choices that participants made, the impact of the course design on those choices, and what role self-regulation played in the process. The resulting analysis revealed that participants desired an overall learning experience that was tailored to personal learning preferences, but that technical and design limitations can create barriers in the learning experience. The results from this research can help shape future instructional design efforts that wish to increase learner agency and choice in the educational process

The article discusses the possibilities of creating and developing a personal educational environment (PLE) as a tool that allows students to improve their academic performance in universities. The study aims are to identify the links between the use of PLE parts and student performance indicators. Methods of mathematical statistics were used to investigate the results of a survey of 348 students about the use of information resources in the educational process. The analysis of the use of individual elements of the PLE for training and communication of students with each other and with teachers was held. Students using a personal learning environment mostly have a higher average mark, pass intermediate grades more successfully, and less often resort to retakes. The positive impact of using social networks and personal accounts for communication with teachers on performance indicators was revealed. One of the results of the study is the confirmation of the possibility of using PLE in an educational institution as a unified system that helps students in learning and improves average performance, due to the fact that a balanced set of elements of PLE involves in the work both successful and lagging students.

In the learning process, in accordance with the requirements of pedagogical technologies, learning goals are achieved. In a period of accelerated scientific and technological progress, the effectiveness of teaching largely depends on the role of the student in the educational process, the attitude of the teacher to him. Two types of learning technology can be distinguished here: authoritarian and personal.

The article raises the problem of identifying the features of the personified approach in the pedagogical process of children and adults; on the basis of historical and pedagogical analysis, the phenomenon of personification is characterized, its features are revealed. It is proved that personification in education as a pedagogical principle determines the possibility of selforganization of the personal educational space, as it is associated, first of all, with the maximum activity of the student. The main ways of personification in additional professional education for adults have been determined. The guidelines for organizing a personified educational process are presented: the perception of the educational situation by the teacherstudent of course training as a projective situation; providing the opportunity for teachers to make adjustments to the training program; focus of attention – on the personification of teaching, self-development, self-education of teachers; providing the possibility of individual consulting for teachers, experts and course curators in any format; availability of all educational on-line and off-line resources; the possibility of completing training courses and modules at a pace convenient for the student; organization of an informal educational environment and support in informal education; stimulating motivation for self-learning; actualization of the transition to problem- and project-oriented models of the formation of knowledge, skills and competencies; «Objectification» (and manifestation) of the personal learning outcomes of teachers. The interdependence of the experience of pedagogical personification and personification of the student is shown.

The pandemic has put the higher education of Ukraine to new challenges. The objectives of the article are to describe the implementation of distance learning in Ukraine, illustrate the personal learning systems and their levels, provide practical examples of the content of personal learning systems. The theoretical and methodological base of the research of distance learning consists of an activity approach that is grounded on the psychological theory of activity and the concept of personally oriented learning, directed at the formation and development of students’ subjectivity, with due regard to their individual abilities. Results are the following. Studying during the lockdown has essentially speeded the implementation of various forms and technologies of distance education, actualized the tasks to modernize its organization, search for efficient methods of managing the process of studying, has provoked the necessity for teachers to improve their level of mastering information and communication technologies. The concept of development of distance education in Ukraine has emphasized that it creates conditions for the realization of the system of continuous “life-long learning” and provides individualization of studying by mass education. Meanwhile, this organization should be built as a pedagogical system that consists of the elements (goals, principles, content, methods, and forms of the educational activity) and is realized by information and communication technologies. In S. Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics distance learning is supported by PNS (personal learning systems) that consist of content, interactive and autonomous levels. The content of the given levels is characterized and supported by practical examples. Conclusion: implementation of distance learning in such a form enables the renewal of content, forms and methods of studies according to current demands of the society in innovative development; individualization of the educational process with due regard to demands of those who study as well as optimization of the whole educational process.

The Corona Global Pandemic created challenges for teachers and students in using E-learning tools in the teaching and learning process. Thus, training teachers to use these tools was extremely crucial. The current study examined the effectiveness of E-learning environments on developing the skills to design E-tivities based on Gamification for Gaza technology teachers. The researchers followed the quasi-experimental approach for two randomly selected experimental groups. The first experimental group was taught via E-learning social environment Edmodo, while the second experimental group was taught via the personal E-learning environment Wordpress. Every group consists of 30 teachers teaching Information Technology for secondary students. The group equivalence was adjusted before the experiment in designing E-tivities skills based on gamification. To collect data, the researchers prepared an observation card of the skills for designing E-tivities based on gamification. The observation card dealt with the design tools and their sub-indicators, and it was applied before and after the intervention phase. The results showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level (? ? 0.05) between the mean of the teachers’ scores in the experimental social environment group Edmodo, and the experimental personal learning environment group Wordpress in the post-application of the observation  card for designing E-tivities skills based on gamification. Additionally, the findings revealed a great effectiveness of E-learning social environment Edmodo and the personal E-learning environment Wordpress on developing skills for designing E-tivities based on gamification. In the light of these results, it is recommended that social and personal E-learning environments should be employed in developing the skills of teachers and improving their experiences. This is helpful in organizing and displaying information in additon to facilitating communication between the components of the educational process and the benefit of using these environments in training teachers under the Global pandemic, Coronavirus, COVID-19.

The need to know at least one foreign language is an important and undoubted factor on the path to success of modern man and professional in their field, given that more and more professionals and scientists seek international work, participate in international conferences. Until recently, foreign language classes were quite traditional, namely held in a real classroom, using traditional teaching methods and tools. But given the epidemic situation in 2020, more and more educational institutions are deciding to switch to blended or distance learning. Distance learning in these terms has become a decent attempt to solve the temporal and spatial constraints of the traditional personal learning. Online learning has been the result of the full adoption of technology as part of our lives. In today's world, the term "distance learning" originated due to needs of society and in a short period of time combined all the benefits of the use of modern technologies in the educational process, namely the use of social networking and multimedia along with traditional methods. Distance learning technologies are many new opportunities for teaching foreign languages that allow even more to expand the range of teaching techniques. This paper reports the issues and problems of transition from the traditional type of studying to the distance learning, as well as its features and difficulties that may arise during the transition. The article also reports the prospects for further use of distance learning. This work also highlights the psychological and pedagogical features that may affect the teacher's performance of their pedagogical activities, as well as problems that may arise during the transition to distance learning. The main methods of teaching a foreign language under distance learning are proposed.
