Quality of the Academic Research of a Postgraduate Degree in Surgery from a Public University of Ecuador.

Abstract Introduction: the lack of solidity of educational research (ER) in a high percentage the loss of integrity in the methodology has been reported. The objective of the present study was to determine the quality of the ERs of the postgraduate surgery in a Public University of Ecuador. With the hypothesis that the acceptable theses are equal to 70%.Methods: the present study reviewed the thesis of surgery at the University of Cuenca, from the period January-2010 to November-2019. The probabilistic sample selection was 48 cases. A 51-question EI quality test was used. The values ​​of each variable were homologated as a percentage. A single sample T-test was performed, bivariate correlations using the Spearman coefficient. Significant values ​​were R> 0.5 and P <0.01. The hypothesis test was performed with Chi square.Results: of 48 randomized theses, the lowest average was in the “Hypothesis” sections (41.6% [35.3-47.8]) and the highest in the “Results” sections (93.5% [91.4-95.7]). The relevance was 97.9% (93.7-102.1). 35 theses (72.9%) were rated as "Acceptable". The Hypothesis and References sections were rated as “Not acceptable” in 70.8% and 79.2%. The "results" section obtained the rating of "Excellent" in 93.8%. The hypothesis was accepted, the group has an acceptable quality equal to 70% ”, Chi2 = 0.2208, P = 0.64.Conclusion: the quality of educational research is equal to the 70% raised in the hypothesis, which highlights a minimum sufficiency rating for the educational research studied in this work.

Identification of criteria for academic research performance. At South African universities, the achievement of objectives is usually measured in terms of so-called "process criteria" (e.g. pass rates), instead of performance criteria which reflect the quality of academic personnel. Stimulated by the need to identify valid indices of research performance, as a component of academic performance, this study investigated the dimensionality of several criteria, identified from empirical and literature studies. It was found that various valid criteria could be represented by six constructs, viz.: the stature of the researcher as scientist; scientific contributions; enhancement of own profession; community development; participation in research projects; and giving advice to persons or institutions outside the university. Daar is gevind dat verskeie geldige maatstawwe deur ses konstrukte verteenwoordig word, te wete: die statuur van die navorser as wetenskaplike, wetenskaplike bydraes, uitbouing van eie professie, gemeenskapsontwikkeling, deelname aan navorsingsprojekte en advieslewering aan persone of instellings buite die Universiteit.

The provision of quality teachers by teacher preparation programs determines the quality of education in schools. The study aimed to define pre-service teachers' beliefs about teacher education and include recommendations for improving teacher education, given the importance of teacher education for the quality of education in educational institutions. The study included 45 pre-service teachers from Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University's education department in Dir Upper, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. A total of 30 people were chosen for inclusion in the analysis using a purposive random sampling method. A questionnaire was developed, validated, and piloted to ensure its accuracy. The information was gathered using self-administered questionnaires and evaluated using mean ratings, standard deviation, and the chi-square significance test. The study found that pre-service teachers in the institute are satisfied with their needs and demands through teacher education, that teacher education curricula are tailored to the needs of pre-service teachers, that subject content courses are appropriate, that the scope of teaching practicum is broad, that training is linked to practical school experiences, and that school management courses are offered. The pedagogy courses help pre-service teachers improve their teaching skills, and they receive adequate training in evaluation methods. There are also quality academic research activities. The study suggested that pre-service teachers attend orientation sessions to learn about their needs and demands, which could be met through teacher preparation. Teacher education curricula are revised to provide more realistic exposure to the school's atmosphere and activities.

Educational research constitutes a major lever for socio-economic development. It contributes to improving the quality of training, and developing the improvement of education and teaching. However, no training establishment for educational executives belonging to the Moroccan education sector appears today among research operators at the national level. To determine the current state of educational research carried out in this sector, we analyze the contents of the national education and training charter, the emergency program and the strategic vision of the reform. The results show that educational research, as the ultimate goal of the national education sector, has performed poorly on several indicators. The recovery from a pessimistic situation requires, first of all, the establishment of adequate research structures, connected to the university and accredited. In addition, the structures must be made permanent and exercising their missions in liaison with the field. Finally, they would need to be equipped with effective steering mechanisms, allowing the implementation of theoretical and practical aspects of educational research.

The possibilities of using the modern laboratory complex "Electricity and Magnetism" are shown when conducting educational research work of students in physics. The author gave an example of experimental research on the topic "Study of the Hall effect in semiconductors." The contribution of students' educational and research work to the formation of general professional competencies is noted.

El propósito de este artículo  es compartir  los resultados de una experiencia evaluativa realizada en una asignatura  de investigación de la Cátedra de Investigación Educativa de la Universidad Estatal a Distancia (UNED) de Costa Rica. En el estudio participaron 126 estudiantes de los diferentes centros universitarios de la universidad y se basó en la aplicación de un cuestionario autoadministrado  mediante el cual el estudiantado valoró la calidad de la asignatura desde los diferentes aspectos que lo componen. Los resultados se analizaron mediante estadísticas descriptivas utilizando el software spss. La evaluación concluyó que la valoración general que los estudiantes hacen de la asignatura es satisfactoria. No obstante, se detectan aspecto relacionados especialmente con  los materiales que indican la necesidad realizar modificaciones de la asignatura para lograr un mejoramiento en términos de fortalecer los procesos de aprendizaje de los estudiantes.Palabras clave: Evaluación; calidad; Educación a distancia; opinión de estudiantesAbstratThe purpose of this article is to share the results of an evaluative experience conducted in a subject of investigation by the Educational Research Chair of the Universidad Estatal a Distancia (UNED) of Costa Rica. The quality of drinking water in the drinking water refill depot (DAMIU) is still low. Based on the results of bacteriological testing conducted by Puskesmas in Tanjungpinang 2015, it is known that 5 samples drinking water refill (AMIU) containing coliform bacteria. This study aims to know bacteriological quality in drinking water refill and determine Factors of Hygiene sanitasion DAMIU that associated with AMIU’s bacteriological quality in Tanjungpinang city. The study design was a cross sectional study with sample of 30 DAMIU in Tanjungpinang. Sample selection is done by proportional random sampling. Data were analyzed using Chi square test. The results showed that 20% AMIU containing germs total , but for E.coli, 100% not containing. Building sanitation, processing tools sanitation and galon sanitation most of drinking water refill already eligible and not related with germs total number, only Operator hygiene that 53% eligible and related with germs total number (p value 0,017). The study conclude that 20% AMIU containing germs total. Operator hygiene factor related with germs total. To prevent the presence of germs in drinking water refill, the operator should apply hygiene behaviour and have certificate of seminar and training about hygiene and sanitary processing of DAMIU

Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in Pemalang Regency in 2017 is still high and happens a lot during childbirth time period (72%). One of the efforts for reducing MMR is the quality service of childbirth for the process of mother and baby recovery, early detection of complications, taking care of and referral of complications. The aim of the study is to determine and analyze the quality of the first childbirth service (KF1) and factors related to the service quality of first childbirth (KF1) by midwives at Health Centres in Pemalang Regency.Quantitative research method used cross sectional research type, sample selection by simple random sampling at 100 civil servant of midwives working period of at least three years in 14 health centres in each sub-district in Pemalang Regency. Data collections were done by questionnaires and observations, data analysis with chi-square statistical tests and multivariate with multiple logistic regression.Research results showed that the service quality of the first childbirth (KF1) is lacking (53%), lacking motivation (54%), less reward (65%), less supervision (50%) and workload according to the standard (57%). Variables related to the service quality of the first childbirth (KF1) are motivation (p-value = 0.018) and rewards (p-value = 0.003). While the variables not related to the service quality of the first childbirth (KF1) are supervision (p-value = 0.229) and workload (p-value = 0.774). The factors that influence the service quality of the first childbirth (KF1) are rewards (value p = 0.031 and OR = 3,466).Suggestions for improving the service quality of the first childbirth (KF1) are midwives have to be more optimal in giving childbirth care and health education, head of health centres can divide the tasks equally among all midwives, midwives in working have to create a positive attitude, the head of the health centres praises the success of childbirth care, the head of the health centres can allocate funds for the transportation of home visits, the implementation of supervision is carried out on a scheduled and routine for all midwives.

The teacher is the party most often accused of being the person most responsible for the quality of education. Teachers who have the ability in four teacher competencies, will be able to show better performance. A teacher's competence will also be better, if accompanied by a strong achievement motivation. Competence that is accompanied by the achievement motivation will affect the performance of teachers in all fields that are done. This research was conducted to obtain empirical evidence about the presence or absence of the influence of teacher competence and achievement motivation simultaneously and significantly to the performance of Certified Public Elementary School teachers in Kendal District, Kendal District. The population in this study were all certified elementary school teachers in the Regional Education Unit of the Kendal District, who were civil servants. While the sample selection method used is random sampling. Data about the variables in this study were obtained using a scale instrument (questionnaire). The data that has been collected will be analyzed with the classic assumption test and hypothesis test. To test the hypothesis in this study, multiple regression analysis was used. The results showed that the competence and achievement motivation did not significantly influence the performance of certified teachers. Abstrak Guru merupakan pihak yang paling sering mendapat tudingan sebagai orang yang paling bertanggung jawab terhadap kualitas pendidikan. Guru yang memiliki kemampuan dalam empat kompetensi guru, akan dapat menunjukkan kinerja yang lebih baik. Kompetensi seorang guru juga akan lebih baik, jika dibarengi dengan adanya motivasi berprestasi yang kuat. Kompetensi yang dibarengi dengan adanya motivasi berprestasi akan mempengaruhi kinerja guru dalam segala bidang yang dikerjakan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memperoleh bukti empiris tentang ada tidaknya pengaruh kompetensi guru dan motivasi berprestasi secara simultan dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru SD Negeri yang Bersertifikasi di Kecamatan Kendal, Kabupaten Kendal. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu semua guru SD Negeri yang bersertifikasi di UPTD Pendidikan Daerah Kecamatan-Kabupaten Kendal, yang berstatus sebagai PNS. Sedangkan metode pemilihan sampel yang digunakan adalah random sampling. Data tentang variabel-variabel dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dengan menggunakan instrumen berupa skala (angket). Data yang telah terkumpul akan dianalisis dengan uji asumsi klasik dan uji hipotesis. Untuk menguji hipotesis dalam penelitian ini, digunakan analisis regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi dan motivasi berprestasi tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja guru bersertifikasi.

Aim:  to  analyze  the  quality  of  life  and  factors  associated  with  it among  disabled  retired  public  workers  of  a  public  university.  Method:  this  is  an epidemiological study, featuring an observation-analysis, and a transversal, quantitative approach. The sample is composed of 59 disabled public employees who retired between 2000  and  2014.  The  data  was  collected  through  a  questionnaire  of  socio-demographic characteristics and the SF-36v2 form in order to evaluate the retirees’ quality of life. F or the   quantitative   variables,   the   evaluations   of   absolute   and   relative   frequencies, measurements of central trends, and variability were observed. The Mann-Whitney test, Chi-square test, and Wilcoxon W test were used due to the asymmetrical distribution of the  variables  found.  The  level  of  statistical  significance  was determined  to  be  p<0.05.  Expected Results: this study will provide support to personnel management in order to implement policies for the promotion of health, illnesses prevention, and the reduction of injuries; as a result, a decrease in the rate of early retirement, higher productivity in the labor  market,  an  improvement  in  self-esteem,  and  the  decline  in  retirement  fund expenses are expected.
