Abstract Objective: This study aimed to understand how social networking websites are used by adolescents and their importance during the hospitalization process. Method: A descriptive and qualitative study was supported by the virtual ethnographic method and resorted to the symbolic interactionism as theoretical framework. Eleven hospitalized adolescents were interviewed. Results: Three categories were identified based on the analysis of interviews and posts: Being able to use social networking websites during hospitalization; Using the Facebook® chat to keep connected to friends; Seeking support from friends through social networking websites. Final considerations: Facebook® was the social networking website that adolescents used the most, standing out as an important form of entertainment during hospitalization that facilitates communication and social support. Healthcare professionals should value the use of social networking websites by hospitalized adolescents and encourage access to these tools, providing hospital resources to expand and facilitate this access.

The time spent on Facebook by university students is continuously increasing. This fact is raising many questions as regards the relation between the social networking websites and the university. The educators are challenged to understand the factors that are driving the adoption of social networking websites, the characteristics of the daily use as well as the positive and negative effects on the university work. The social influence has been recognized as one of the factors that are driving the adoption of information systems. On another hand, the excessive use may lead to addiction. The first objective of this research is to explore the correlation between the social influence and the Facebook dependence. A model with these latent variables has been specified and tested on two samples of university students, the first from Romania and the second from Lithuania. The second objective of the research is to comparatively discuss the measures in each country. A multi-group confirmatory factor analysis has been carried on to test the configural and metric invariance. The comparison of means shows that university students reporting higher social influence have a higher risk of Facebook dependence. The comparative analysis revealed that for both variables, the mean values are higher for the Romanian sample. Keywords: e-learning process, Facebook dependence, invariance analysis, social influence.

ABSTRACT:This article investigates the research question How is the ethos of violence characterized and what are the differences among the social networking websites Orkut, Facebook and Twitter, regarding the construction of this discursive phenomenon? The objective is to analyze the different levels of ethos of violence found in these social networking websites, comparing them and categorizing their types. For that, a qualitative, documentary and empirical-interpretative research is developed, using the inductive method in the analysis of a corpus composed of 30 initial pages of virtual social networks. The analysis of the data is theoretically based on the analysis of the French Speech Discourse, based essentially on Maingueneau's research (2016, 2013, 2010, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2002, 1998, 1995). Ethos of violence, namely: a) Ethos linked to representations of physical aggression; B) Ethos linked to representations of moral offense; C) Ethos linked to representations of intolerance. KEYWORDS: ethos of violence; discursive ethos; social networks; virtual communities; cyberviolence against teachers.

AbstractIn this survey, we review different text mining techniques to discover various textual patterns from the social networking sites. Social network applications create opportunities to establish interaction among people leading to mutual learning and sharing of valuable knowledge, such as chat, comments, and discussion boards. Data in social networking websites is inherently unstructured and fuzzy in nature. In everyday life conversations, people do not care about the spellings and accurate grammatical construction of a sentence that may lead to different types of ambiguities, such as lexical, syntactic, and semantic. Therefore, analyzing and extracting information patterns from such data sets are more complex. Several surveys have been conducted to analyze different methods for the information extraction. Most of the surveys emphasized on the application of different text mining techniques for unstructured data sets reside in the form of text documents, but do not specifically target the data sets in social networking website. This survey attempts to provide a thorough understanding of different text mining techniques as well as the application of these techniques in the social networking websites. This survey investigates the recent advancement in the field of text analysis and covers two basic approaches of text mining, such as classification and clustering that are widely used for the exploration of the unstructured text available on the Web.

Social Networking websites plays an important role in our life. The usage of the above websites is in every domain of our lives and they have increasingly infused itself into daily life. In recent years, the social networking websites such as Twitter, Facebook, are used in natural disasters. Many features have been included in Twitter for fast responses in such kind of unexpected events. This paper is based on the experiments performed on the 2017 Microblog Track provided by Forum of Information Retrieval & Evaluation. The Classification schemes are used with two predefined labels as need and availability. The various pre-processing and natural language processing techniques are applied before the training of the model. The experiments showed that the classification accuracy is increased when the term weight is modified by using the information gain method and using the SVM classifier. This system automatically annotated the FIRE-2015 dataset of microblog track with 97% accuracy.
