The aim of the study was to compare mood during the fi rst wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in athletes - potential Olympians (n = 57, including 28 men and 29 women) involved in Olympic preparations and extramural physical education students (n = 54, including 28 men and 26 women). The age of the subjects was between 18 and 45 years. The additional objective was to determine diff erentiation according to gender. The Polish version of the Profi le of Mood States by McNair, Lorr & Droppleman was used in the form of an on-line survey. There were no signifi cant differences between the men and women (main gender eff ect). The athletes demonstrated lower levels of anger and confusion than the students (main group eff ect). In the case of tension, a signifi cant interaction was found between the group and gender: among athletes, a lower level of tension was found in men, and among students - in women.

The aim of the present study was to compare the perception of Current Body Image (CI) and CI intended to have with Body Mass Index (BMI), Fat Percentage and Physical Activity Practice of Physical Education students. To this end, the present study conducted a quantitative and qualitative research, collecting data on BMI, fat percentage, level of physical activity and HF perception. The data were reported using descriptive statistics and show that these physical education students do not present CI perception compatible with the data presented by the BMI and fat percentage evaluation. The intended HF may be under the influence of sociocultural issues involving aesthetics, the myth of the “healthy body” and the image of an “athlete” or “very trained” person. In general, the data found in this study suggest that Physical Education students practice physical activity regularly and this practice is associated with an expectation around the CI, influencing the intended CI. and this practice is associated with an expectation around the BI, influencing the intended BI.

The purpose of this study was to explore high school physical education students’ usage and perceptions of a supplemental online health-related fitness knowledge curriculum through the lens of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology. Individual interviews were conducted with 37 students who were enrolled in a ninth-grade physical education class. The course used an externally provided online curriculum designed to deliver and assess health-related fitness knowledge. Initial themes were generated using open and axial coding compiled into a codebook. The codebook was pilot-tested and finalized following peer debriefing sessions. Four main themes were developed: Home(room), Alone; Easy to Use, Easier to Ignore; Disconnected and Conflicted; and Low Value, Low Priority. Students completed their online work alone, but location and devices varied. Most thought the online platform was easy to navigate, and many completed multiple modules at once. Students sensed that the online content was disconnected from face-to-face physical education and questioned why they were required to engage in sedentary online learning for a physically active course. They also expressed difficulty understanding the value of the online content and assigned a low priority to completing it as a result. Implementing a supplemental online physical education curriculum presents challenges given the relative novelty of the modality within the subject. This study highlights the important role system design plays in the online learning process. It also illustrates the responsibility teachers have in helping students see the value of online learning opportunities by making connections to their own lives.

The purpose of this study was to measure the healthy lifestyle beliefs by evaluating the validity and reliability of the healthy lifestyle belief scale in physical education students at Universitas Majalengka, West Java, Indonesia. The method used in the research is quantitative method with descriptive research type which was conducted on 106 physical education students from November 2020 to December 2020. Data collection was carried out using a google form which contains socio-demographic information and a healthy lifestyle belief scale. Cronbach’s Alpha and total item score analysis were used in the data analysis. Use Cronbach’s alpha to determine internal consistency of healthy lifestyle belief scales. The results showed that Cronbach’s alpha value was 0.968 and 16 items from the healthy lifestyle belief scale were normally distributed. The analysis showed 53% of the total variance. The healthy lifestyle belief scale for physical education students is a valid and reliable measurement tool and can be used as an instrument to develop relevant program interventions through physical education in schools and colleges.

The aim of the study was to compare the strategies of coping with stress during the COVID-19 epidemic in athletes involved in Olympic preparations (57 potential Olympians) and students of physical education (54 extramural students), and to determine their depending on the variable gender. The research was conducted in the form of an on-line survey in the period of April 7–28 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Four standard psychological questionnaires were used. Elite athletes and physical education students practicing sports most often dealt with the stress of the COVID-19 pandemic using cognitive and behavioral coping strategies. The sports level depended on the strategies of coping with the stress of the COVID-19 pandemic more strongly than gender. The relationship between the sense of coherence (mainly comprehensibility) and the hope for success treated as a generalized immune resource with coping strategies in the case of the COVID-19 pandemic postulated by Antonovsky was confirmed.
