Governance can help minimise the effects of catastrophes. Countries had some time to prepare for the current coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, but some did not use it to improve their arrangements. This research investigates several countries’ governance strategies, develops a governance model and critically analyses Bangladesh’s failure as a case of governance catastrophe. This study applies qualitative methods of textual data analysis to explore data sourced from current newspapers, blogs, websites, journal articles and books to determine the most appropriate evidence and generate connections and interpretations. The COVID-19 pandemic has had devastating consequences for all countries; however, the different national responses have provided the opportunity to measure governments’ capability in addressing the crisis. Governments need to study the current COVID-19 response and enhance their governance capacities to minimise the spread of infection and to prepare for the challenge of socio-economic recovery.

The story, as Richard Hamilton told it years later, begins with something of an insult. Upon viewing Hamilton's 1955 exhibition Man, Machine, and Motion, Victor Pasmore, the Constructivist sculptor and Hamilton's then-colleague at King's College in Newcast le, delivered a snide quasi-compliment, dismissing the iconographical content (and main attraction) of the project only to praise the mere apparatus of exhibiting—the bracket and framing system that Hamilton had invented to exhibit his imposing photographic enlargements of men and their technical prostheses. “It would have been very good,” Pasmore is purport-ed to have said, “if it hadn't been for all those photographs.”2 But clearly the exhibition intrigued Pasmore, who would approach Hamilton later in the hope of collaborating with the younger artist. Hamilton recalls: Remembering his comment on Man, Machine and Motion I proposed that we might make a show which would be its own justification: no theme, no subject, not a display of things or ideas—pure abstract exhibition.3

Kota Lama Semarang, also known as Semarang Old Town in Central of Java Province, Indonesia, has the potential to become an inclusive and sustainable tourism destination, in accordance with the Indonesian government’s development plan. However, its potential has not been promoted publicly in the best ways. The aim of this research is to describe and develop a model for promoting inclusive and sustainable tourism in the area. The research applies qualitative methods and takes a descriptive approach. The data were collected using observation and interviews, while data analysis was performed using Creswell's descriptive qualitative analysis. The Sejarah di Dekatku (History Near Us) application (the new model), together with social media promotion, provides an alternative way of promoting tourism. During a trial launch, the application was appreciated by the tourists who used it. The application is considered easy to use and suitable for the needs of the community. It features themes of inclusivity and education, and it is considered important for the promotion of historical areas of Semarang. The advantages of using the application to help develop Kota Lama Semarang tourism are that it is easy to use and navigate, it has attractive features, and it provides easy-to-understand information. Our research suggests that the application should be launched immediately and used as a way of promoting the area. In addition, features and interfaces should be developed further to make the application even more attractive and user-friendly. This can be done by researching and developing the features and the interface of the application to make it more attractive and user-friendly.

The laying chicken farming sector is an important sector because from this sector some animal protein needs for humans are met. The success of a layer farm is largely determined by marketing. Judging from the footsteps of livestock farming, it appears that older farmers have experienced several problems in animal husbandry, such as the 1997 monetary crisis, the outbreak of bird flu in late 2003, the fluctuation of corn prices in 2015. These conditions, many businesses closed farms. Even though there have been several problems with livestock, it turns out that some farms can still survive today, so it is necessary to conduct research on how to formulate an egg marketing strategy? This study took place in Karangasem Regency, Bali Province. Research data obtained from questionnaires and observations.
