This research explored the effects of Edmodo-assisted process writing with the problematized scaffolding on the quality of students’ writing. Quasi-Experimental research with one-group pre-posttest was utilized as the research design. The subjects of this research were the second-semester students of the English Department at the Islamic University of Darul ‘Ulum, Lamongan. There were 13 students in the class, and all of them took part in this research. In every seven meetings, they were receiving writing instruction using traditional and Edmodo-assisted process writing with problematized scaffolding respectively. To collect the data, pre-and-posttest were conducted to both class conditions. An interview was also done in the experimental class to capture the students’ perception after the implementation of Edmodo. Dependent and independent t-tests were utilized to analyze the data collected. The interview was analyzed qualitatively to support the findings. Results of the analysis indicate that the use of Edmodo-assisted process writing with problematized scaffolding significantly improves the students’ writing skills and that the students’ score improvement is significantly higher than in the traditional class. Therefore, the usage of this media is highly recommended.

Some problems are faced by students in reading of English text. The interesting strategy is needed to teach them. Story Pyramid Strategyis one of strategies to teach reading comprehension. This strategy forces students to review and summarize the main points of a story. The research aimed at knowing the effectiveness of using story pyramid strategy in teaching  narrative text toward students’ reading comprehension was conducted in SMAN 1 Serang. The research design of this reseacrh was quasi experimental research with quantitative approach. The  research  finding  showed  that  Story Pyramid  Strategy  is  effective in  teaching  narrative  text  toward  students’ reading comprehension to Senior High School.

With the growth of product search engines such as pricegrabber.com, web vendors have many more casual visitors. This research examines how web vendors may foster “swift trust” as a means to convert casual visitors to paying customers. We examine whether perceptions of website’s appearance features (normality, social presence and third-party links) and functionality features (security, privacy, effort expectancy and performance expectancy) positively relate to swift trust in a web vendor. Using a quasi-experimental research design, we empirically test the proposed relationships. Based on an analysis of 224 respondents, we found appearance and functionality features explained 61% of the variance in swift trust. The paper concludes with a discussion of findings and implications.

This article stresses the importance of controlling extraneous variables when studying educational problems. Various types of research studies are described. The experimental research design, which is ideally suited to detecting causal relationships if proper controls are used, and quasi-experimental procedures, which are employed when true experimental designs cannot be used, are discussed. Threats to internal validity are presented and hypothetical examples are given to illustrate these threats and the means of controlling them. The importance of utilizing control groups is illustrated.

The purpose of this research is to prove the benefits of isotonic drinks promised by the manufacturers. This is a quasi-experimental research design involving 20 non-athlete male students. The data were analyzed using t-test.From the data analysis, it was found that there was a significant difference between aerobic endurance before and after drinking isotonic drinks, tobserve (5.398604) > ttable (1.729) at level significant α = 0.05. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that isotonic drinks has a significant effect towards students’ aerobic endurance.

This study provides the contributions of the implementation and development of DevOps in the integration and deployment of software in the organization due to problems previously detected regarding the speed and quality of reports. The arguments assumed from a DevOps culture, respond to: techniques and practices of continuous integration, continuous deployment, test automation, collaboration, automation, measurement and monitoring; these facts, was thanks to the implementation of the pre-experimental research design of applied type, in a sample of 48 weekly sprints, with a total of 96 user stories of the project taken from the organization. The study allowed to demonstrate the decrease of the Cycletime of days on average, increase the frequency of code release and increase the percentage of attention ratio, based on these results, it was possible to demonstrate the improvement of the speed during the deployment and quality of software processes, these results were thanks to the adoption of DevOps as a culture of interaction and deployment in an organization in the insurance sector.

Learning innovation is an effort to improve the quality of learning. One form of innovation is the integration of brain gym learning techniques and various learning models, including the Children Learning in Science (CLIS) model.  However, so far, there has never been a study of learning innovations through the integration of brain gym techniques with the CLIS model. This study aims at finding out the optimizing of the Children Learning in Science (CLIS) models with brain gym to empower students' human circulatory conception. This study is quasi-experimental research of pretest-posttest Nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study was the students of class XI MIA SMA Negeri 7 Kupang, which consisted of 173 students. The sample of this study were students of class XI MIA1 and XI MIA 2, which consisted of 61 students. The instrument used was a test of human circulatory conception developed by Andriani (2017). The results showed that the increase in students' human circulatory conception in CLIS learning combined with a gym is 40.61% higher than the increase in students' human circulatory conception in CLIS learning. It can be concluded that the application of brain gym can optimize Children Learning In Science (CLIS) potential in empowering students' human circulatory conception.
