The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of learning styles of individuals in shaping entrepreneurial competence as a study improvement of the quality of learning. Participants of this study were students at University Telkom Business Management, Department of Telecommunications and Informatics, Bandung. This study used descriptive analytical method. Results of this study found that the effect of simultaneous greatest between individual learning styles: concrete experient (X1), reflective observation (X2), abstract conseptualization (X3), and active experimentation (X4) on the competence entrepreneurship: thinking & problem solving (Y3) relatively strong at 93.4%. This research proves that learning styles of students have an influence on the formation of entrepreneurial competence. Greatest amount of influence an individual learning styles simultaneously to the competence of entrepreneurship is 93.4%. Based on these results, it is recommended as follows: (1) the curriculum is constantly made to improve and have confidence entrepreneurial competencies (personal maturity); (2) the quality of faculty members should be improved by improving education and training, especially the training of soft skills in order to familiarize themselves to the learning style of analytical thinking can be improved; (3) facilities and infrastructure to support teaching and learning process should continue to be evaluated in order to function properly.

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mendedahkan tentang penerimaan murid dalam kemahiran dan maklumat pembelajaran yang dilakukan di sekolah rendah. Kajian ini juga bertujuan untuk memahami ciri khas gaya pembelajaran elemen persekitaran dan elemen fisiologi murid yang lemah berdasarkan kecenderungan mereka untuk belajar dan kemampuan memproses maklumat baru. Kajian ini adalah kajian kes yang menggunakan data kualitatif untuk menjawab persoalan yang dinyatakan. Penyelidik menggunakan Model Dunn & Dunn sebagai panduan dalam menganalisis data pemerhatian dalam gaya pembelajaran yang disokong oleh wawancara dan analisis hasil kerja murid. 16 peserta dipilih dengan sengaja untuk kajian ini. Dapatan menunjukkan bahawa rangsangan gaya pembelajaran elemen persekitaran dan elemen fisiologi mendorong atau merangsang pembelajaran murid yang lemah. Kesimpulannya, di samping strategi yang baik, gaya pembelajaran sebagai petunjuk pembelajaran dan pencapaian yang meningkatkan kualiti penerimaan maklumat murid. Oleh itu, penemuan ini merungkai hubungan antara gaya pembelajaran dan kesan pembelajaran murid yang perlu diberi perhatian oleh pendidik untuk memenuhi pengajaran dan cara pembelajaran murid. Special Characteristics of Learning Styles Environmental Elements and Physiological Elements of Weak Students to Learn and Process New Information Abstract: This study aims to reveal about the acceptance of students in the skills and information of learning done in primary schools. This study also aims to understand the special characteristics of learning styles of environmental elements and physiological elements of weak students based on their propensity to learn and ability to process new information. This study is a case study that uses qualitative data to answer the stated questions. Researchers used the Dunn and Dunn Model as a guide in analyzing observational data in a learning style supported by interviews and analysis of student work outcomes. 16 participants were deliberately selected for this study. Findings indicate that learning style stimuli of environmental elements and physiological elements induce or stimulate poor student learning. In conclusion, in addition to good strategies, learning style as an indicator of learning and achievement that improves the quality of student information reception. Therefore, these findings unravel the relationship between learning styles and student learning effects that need to be given attention by educators to meet the teaching and learning methods of students. The purpose of this study is to explore the favored video applications in video use, compatible techniques and technology to accommodate the learning styles of moral education students in Teacher Education Institutes. This study is also to explore the contents of lesson suit to technology preferred by students in learning Moral Education. This is a case study in where data were collected through interviews. Six semester four students were chosen through purposive sampling from two Teacher Education Institutes in Malaysia. The constructs and internal validity were verified by experts while the external validity was verified through support from existing studies and theories. Data of the study were analyzed by using the Nvivo software to identify the features of favored video, compatible techniques and contents of lesson suit to technology that enhance the quality of teaching and learning of Moral Education to students. The Physiological Stimulus of Dunn and Dunn Learning Styles Model was used as guidance in the interviews because this model was the most suitable to be applied to students with Physiological Stimulus. The results of the analysis showed that short videos with suitable musics and short duration are the favored video for moral education students in teacher education institutes that enabled students to memorize the content knowledge. This research could be the learning guidelines on the use of videos and consequences activities of the shown videos that accommodate the learning styles of moral education students in Teacher Education Institutes which could be used by instructors in their professional practice in the lecture room.

Information processing in learning theory involves students' ability to receive and understand the information obtained. Students' ability to identify learning methods that are appropriate to the learning style plays an important role in continuously improving the quality of teaching and learning. The need to diversify learning methods today is seen as a step to refine the learning approach in line with the latest technology development. Different student learning styles affect the quality of learning and motivation for a course, especially hospitality and tourism courses. This course is given less emphasis on the theoretical aspect and only focuses on practical needs. Thus, this study examines the adaptation of student learning style based on the Felder-Silverman learning style model. Student learning styles identified through a survey study of 80 students of Hospitality and Tourism courses were used as the basis for developing the e-Hospitality and Tourism model. The resulting e-Hospitality and Tourism model can be used as a guide in technical and vocational e-Learning.

The purpose of this learning is to determine individual learning styles by using smartphones in forming entrepreneurial competencies, in an effort to improve the quality of entrepreneurship learning in class with lecturers, doing assignments in class or outside the class as a group, using smartphones and utilizing social media to get business ideas and creating assignment reports. Smartphones and social media that are brought by students and lecturers at any time have not been optimized for entrepreneurship learning, even most lecturers forbid students from opening smartphones while studying in class. The participants of this study were students of Bina Nusantara University from the Faculty of Economics and Communication, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Humanities, School of Computer Science and School of Information System. This research uses the Research Development method, which is a series of processes or steps to develop entrepreneurship learning innovations in the classroom by optimizing smartphones and social media, as a medium for classroom learning aids. The results of this study found that 39.6% of students used smartphones to study, 22.0% were used to build relationships, 5.8% for entertainment or reading news, 25.4% for businesses and 7.2% for documentation. Research shows that student learning styles have an influence on the formation of entrepreneurial competencies in building relationships and business that is equal to 47.4%. The greatest amount of influence simultaneously individual learning styles on entrepreneurial competence is 39.6% for learning. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested as follows: (1) the entrepreneurship learning curriculum is always made to improve ability and have competent entrepreneurial trust (Personal Maturity), because 39.6% of students do business using smartphones; (2) facilities and infrastructure to support the teaching and learning process must be continuously evaluated to function and support smartphone media.

The chapter presents the impact of COVID-19 on Thai higher education the national, and university reactions and policies to cope with the situation. Parallel with the technology disruption, most universities have been attempting to promote online teaching due to the new learning environments and learning style of students, while faculty members are still reluctant. However, the COVID-19 has inevitably changed the ways the faculty members handle their classes. In this chapter, the findings on the components of online teaching and learning ecology (OTLE) in Thai higher education during the COVID-19 is summarized and proposed, covering the following topics: learning and teaching method, technology and learning resources, teacher roles, and student roles and responsibilities. Finally, the key success factors for the development of learning ecology at the higher education level are also covered.

Background and Purpose: Education at higher institutions prepares graduates for the real world. To develop and maintain quality, the focus must not only be on what institutions can offer but also on the learning needs and styles of learners. Despite many studies on engineering learners’ learning styles, limited research has been conducted to compare the learning styles of Engineering and Engineering Education learners. This study was conducted to ascertain the learning style preferences of first-year undergraduates from both groups in a science and technology-driven university in Malaysia.   Methodology: This descriptive study consisted of 40 Engineering and 40 Engineering Education learners who attended an English language course at the university. Perceptual Learning Style Preference Questionnaire was adopted as the survey instrument. The data were analysed using self-scoring sheet and Statistical Package for the Social Sciences.   Findings: While both groups chose Kinaesthetic as a major learning style preference, the Engineering Education learners also chose Group, Tactile, and Auditory learning styles as their other major preferences. Both groups chose Visual and Individual as their minor preferences.   Contributions: The findings extend research demonstrating the significant role of specific disciplines in Engineering to determine the learning style preferences of learners. In the traditional instructional paradigm, faculty members act like actors on a stage. They memorize their speech and deliver it to the audience, many times with very little to no interaction at all with the audience. On the other hand, in the student-centered learning paradigm, faculty members act like coaches interacting full time with their team. This chapter is based on a study conducted at a Brazilian Federal University. The study depicts the distance between science production and teaching, and reports on experiences using smart phone clickers to track and analyze students' content acquisition. The objective is to improve the interactive quality of teaching and learning, thus promoting steps to shift towards a student-centered instructional paradigm. Although smartphones were used in this study, with wearable technologies continuing to grow, other wearables such as smart glasses and smart watches could be used instead.

The authors have personally experienced the burdens of creating online courses without the assistance of trained instructional designers. Many faculty are employed in conditions where they develop online courses without the proper knowledge and training of many essential aspects that should accompany the development of an online course (e.g., design, development, learning styles, copyright, design principles, accessibility, incorporating technology, and technical skills) (Singleton et al., 2013; Speck, 2000; Wickersham et al., 2007). The authors propose and describe the use of a detailed online course development and delivery model (Outlaw & Rice, 2015) that was created to provide distance education units with a systematic approach to course development. The proposed model nourishes the partnerships between faculty and designers to improve the quality of online courses, while providing the support faculty need to successfully create online courses. The authors discuss a model that provides consistency in efforts to create efficient workflows to develop online courses.

Research has found that students learn better when they rely on the instructional strategy best suited to their own particular learning style (Fitzsimmons, 1996). While concrete learners depend on the text-based workbook for reinforcement, abstract learners find visual media more to their liking. Microsoft Power Point creates presentations suitable for the classroom by offering a multimedia environment for concepts and ideas important for understanding. It provides a suite of tools to create powerful slide shows incorporating bulleted lists and numbered text; multimedia clip art, pictures, sounds, and movies; links to teacher-validated web sites, programs, and documents; colorful charts and graphs; and, a choice of output options tailored to individual learning styles. Power Point offers an extensive fare of commands, options, and menus. With the advanced features of auto content wizard, hyperlinks, and printing alternatives, it also provides an array of all the tools necessary to build truly exciting and interactive instructional materials.

To survive the onslaught of coronavirus pandemic all higher education institutions (HEI)s worldwide had to move their educational services to either a hybrid modality or a completely online platform. This shift in teaching modalities, placed the faculty members under a relentless pressure to adopt and adapt, to transform themselves into proficient online educators. How did this process of adjustment take place? How did the faculty members acclimatize to their new virtual classrooms? What dilemmas and choices were faced by the faculty members? are questions lacking empirical insights. Yet if this lacuna were overcome, it would provide “real life” insights pertaining to LMS systems, technological tools and apps, and psychological and social isolations which could impede the quality of teaching and learning. This chapter integrates autoethnographic narratives of three faculty members to “recreate the new normal” for HEIs worldwide.
