Kajian berkaitan ragam hias Kalong masyarakat Orang Ulu di Sarawak ini akan memberi fokus terhadap penggunaan Kalong pada senibina yang dihasilkan oleh masyarakat Orang Ulu di samping meneroka tentang makna dan falsafah yang terkandung di sebalik penggunaannya dari perspektif kepercayaan tradisi. Secara umumnya, kesenian dalam masyarakat Orang Ulu tradisional banyak menjurus kepada kepercayaan mistik dan alam ghaib serta mempunyai interaksi yang baik sesama manusia dan alam. Kajian kualitatif ini berdasarkan data-data yang dikumpul dalam bentuk perkataan, sumber majalah, keratan-keratan akhbar dan jurnal-jurnal hasil penulisan pengkaji-pengkaji barat dan tempatan serta lain-lain rekod rasmi. Di samping itu juga, kaedah temu bual dengan responden-responden yang dipilih yang terdiri daripada enam orang daripada kalangan masyarakat Orang Ulu itu sendiri juga menyokong kajian ini. Penemuan dan interpretasi yang dibuat akan dapat menjelaskan mengenai makna penggunaan motif-motif Kalong yang diaplikasikan pada binaan-binaan penting ini dengan lebih tepat lagi. Kajian ini juga dapat mengenal pasti beberapa penggiat yang terlibat dalam menghasilkan karya Kalong serta menjelaskan tentang makna dan falsafah serta mengenal pasti motif Kalong yang menjadi identiti masyarakat Orang Ulu.   Kalong Ornaments in the Architecture of the Orang Ulu Community in Sarawak Abstract: This research is about the decoration in the architecture of the Orang Ulu community in Sarawak. It focuses on the use of the bat motifs, whose meaning and philosophy in the perspective of traditional beliefs are also explored. In the Orang Ulu communities, traditional arts are related to mystical and supernatural beliefs. Human beings and nature are believed to interact in harmony. This is a qualitative study in which data are collected, interviews jotted, articles in magazines, newspapers, journals, written by local as well as foreign researchers, and official records are gleaned. Six respondents from the Orang Ulu community are randomly interviewed to help verify the data. These are interpreted to see the significance of the architecture in the Orang Ulu communities. A number of carvers are identified who shed light on the bat motifs that embody the Orang Ulu identity. Keywords: Architecture, Kalong, Orang ulu Community, Ornaments

Taksonomi adalah klasifikasi benda mengikut ciri-ciri tertentu. Taksonomi dalam bidang pendidikan digunakan untuk mengklasifikasikan tujuan pendidikan, penyusunan penilaian dan kurikulum. Bloom telah mengkategorikan tiga ranah dalam pembelajaran, yaitu; ranah kognitif, ranah afektif dan ranah psikomotor. Taksonomi Bloom fokus pada terminologi (1) pengetahuan; (2) pemahaman; (3) penerapan; (4) analisis; (5) sintesis; dan (6) evaluasi. Sedangkan terminolginya berubah dengan adanya Taksonomi Revisi pada tahun 2001 oleh Anderson & Krathwohl dengan terminologi (1) mengingat; (2) memahami; (3) mengaplikasikan; (4) menganalisis; (5) menilai; dan (6) mencipta. Terminologi ini berubah dengan mempertimbangkan keperluan holistik agar lebih mudah dalam penerapannya oleh guru di sekolah. Fokus utama makalah ini adalah membahas ranah kognitif Revisi Anderson & Krathwohl 2001 dan penerapannya dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran pantun di sekolah dasar.   Anderson & Krahthwohl Cognitive Applications in Teaching and Learning Pantun in Elementary Schools Abstract: Taxonomy is the classification of things according to certain characteristics. Taxonomy in education is used to classify educational objectives, assessment and curriculum preparation. Bloom has categorized three domains in learning, namely; cognitive domain, affective domain and psychomotor domain. Bloom’s taxonomy focuses on the terminology of (1) knowledge; (2) understanding; (3) application; (4) analysis; (5) synthesis; and (6) evaluation. While the terminology changed with the introduction of the Revised Taxonomy in 2001 by Anderson & Krathwohl with the terminology (1) recalling; (2) understand; (3) apply; (4) analyze; (5) evaluate; and (6) create. This terminology changes by considering the holistic need to make it more relevant in its application by teachers at the school level. The main focus of this paper is a discussion on the cognitive domain of the 2001 Anderson & Krathwohl Revision and its application in the teaching and learning of verse in primary schools. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mendedahkan tentang penerimaan murid dalam kemahiran dan maklumat pembelajaran yang dilakukan di sekolah rendah. Kajian ini juga bertujuan untuk memahami ciri khas gaya pembelajaran elemen persekitaran dan elemen fisiologi murid yang lemah berdasarkan kecenderungan mereka untuk belajar dan kemampuan memproses maklumat baru. Kajian ini adalah kajian kes yang menggunakan data kualitatif untuk menjawab persoalan yang dinyatakan. Penyelidik menggunakan Model Dunn & Dunn sebagai panduan dalam menganalisis data pemerhatian dalam gaya pembelajaran yang disokong oleh wawancara dan analisis hasil kerja murid. 16 peserta dipilih dengan sengaja untuk kajian ini. Dapatan menunjukkan bahawa rangsangan gaya pembelajaran elemen persekitaran dan elemen fisiologi mendorong atau merangsang pembelajaran murid yang lemah. Kesimpulannya, di samping strategi yang baik, gaya pembelajaran sebagai petunjuk pembelajaran dan pencapaian yang meningkatkan kualiti penerimaan maklumat murid. Oleh itu, penemuan ini merungkai hubungan antara gaya pembelajaran dan kesan pembelajaran murid yang perlu diberi perhatian oleh pendidik untuk memenuhi pengajaran dan cara pembelajaran murid. Special Characteristics of Learning Styles Environmental Elements and Physiological Elements of Weak Students to Learn and Process New Information Abstract: This study aims to reveal about the acceptance of students in the skills and information of learning done in primary schools. This study also aims to understand the special characteristics of learning styles of environmental elements and physiological elements of weak students based on their propensity to learn and ability to process new information. This study is a case study that uses qualitative data to answer the stated questions. Researchers used the Dunn and Dunn Model as a guide in analyzing observational data in a learning style supported by interviews and analysis of student work outcomes. 16 participants were deliberately selected for this study. Findings indicate that learning style stimuli of environmental elements and physiological elements induce or stimulate poor student learning. In conclusion, in addition to good strategies, learning style as an indicator of learning and achievement that improves the quality of student information reception. Therefore, these findings unravel the relationship between learning styles and student learning effects that need to be given attention by educators to meet the teaching and learning methods of students. The shift from face-to face to distance learning brought about by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic is a major adjustment to all school administrators, teachers, students and parents. The study aimed to determine the challenges encountered and needed support of parents and learners in an elementary school of the Schools Division of Meycauayan City as basis for crafting a contextualized support program. It employed a mixed method design using survey-questionnaire and interview guide as data gathering tools to 123 parents and 10 learners respectively. Frequency and percentage were used to describe the demographic profile, frequency counts and ranking were used on the challenges encountered and support/technical assistance needed by parents while thematic analysis was used to describe the experiences of the learners. The study found out that difficulty in independent learning, difficulty in concentrating on studies and parent’s limited knowledge on the content of child’s lessons are the top struggles of parents in the modular distance learning while almost all learner-respondents describe their experiences of distance learning as difficult because of difficulty in learning by themselves, lack of reference materials for more examples, limited guidance from parents and teachers, challenges in load to research and difficulty in understanding English. Moreover, both respondents are unanimous in declaring that provision of additional reference materials will greatly help lessen the struggles they encountered. Therefore, it is recommended that the support program crafted should be implemented and monitored to fully reinforce the continuity of learning amidst the challenges encountered in the first quarter.

Kertas ini membentangkan empat hasil karya lukisan projek tahun akhir bertemakan ‘Dimensi 100: Ruang dan Masa’ bagi penganugerahan Ijazah Sarjana Muda Pendidikan (Seni) dengan Kepujian, Jabatan Seni dan Reka Bentuk (JSRB), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). Tema ini dipilih bersempena sambutan 100 tahun penubuhan UPSI. Bagi memenuhi kriteria projek, pelajar dikehendaki menghasilkan karya melalui tema yang diberi di samping meneroka kaedah-kaedah baharu yang dapat membawa perubahan kepada kelaziman studio lukisan secara kreatif dan inovatif. Kajian ini berfokus kepada empat orang pelajar major studio lukisan yang telah melaksanakan penyelidikan praktis studio melalui tiga fasa utama iaitu perkembangan idea, proses penghasilan karya, seterusnya persembahan karya. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan pelajar berjaya mensintesiskan tema melalui penghasilan empat buah karya lukisan kontemporari dalam bentuk eksperimentasi yang merentas disiplin bidang sains, seni persembahan, muzik dan tarian, fotografi, videografi, serta kemahiran digital sejajar dengan arus kemajuan teknologi terkini. Pameran virtual telah dilangsungkan secara talian menggunakan platform Artsteps. Karya-karya ini merupakan artifak yang dapat mencerminkan kebitaraan bakal guru seni kelahiran UPSI sebagai universiti pendidikan nombor satu di Malaysia. The Contemporary Drawings themed ‘Dimension 100: Space and Time’ in conjunction with the 100 years celebration of the establishment of Sultan Idris Education University, Malaysia Abstract: This paper presents four drawings with the theme of ‘Dimension 100: Space and Time’ from the final year project of Bachelor in Art Education (with Honours), Department of Art and Design (JSRB), Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI). This theme was chosen in conjunction with the 100 years celebration of the establishment of UPSI. The project criteria required students to produce series of drawings which related to the given theme as well as to creatively explore the new mediums and techniques that could bring ‘changes’ to the practice of drawing studio innovatively. This paper focuses on four students from the major of drawing studios who have carried out the studio practice research through three main phases, namely the development of ideas, the process of producing work, finally, and finally, the presentation of work. The findings found that the students have successfully synthesized the themes into the production of four contemporary drawings in the form of experimentation works which are crossed disciplines of science, performing arts, music and dance, photography, videography, and digital through the latest technology influences. The virtual exhibition was held online using the Artsteps platform. These works are the artifacts that can reflect the uniqueness of UPSI’s art teachers as the number one educational university in Malaysia. Literature on leadership in Nigeria from the perspective of 1 Kings 3 is hard to find. In the pericope, Solomon was the successor to David in leadership. Solomon kept to the promises and good plans of his predecessor. The pericope shows the roles of godfathers in political leadership. This narrative is of great importance to Nigeria’s leadership challenges in the political arena. This article examines 1 Kings 3:3-14 and its relevance to the leadership challenges in Nigeria.  Nigeria is a country where leaders blackmail their predecessors and surround themselves with sycophants and godfathers. Over the years literature has focused on Nigeria’s leadership challenges from the political, sociological and psychological angles. This study provides a theological response to Nigeria’s leadership challenges.

Penerjemahan berperanan penting dalam sebuah komunikasi. Penerjemahan adalah serangkaian tindakan analitis terhadap teks sumber (TSu) untuk dialihbahasakan kedalam teks sasaran (TSa) yang sepadan sehingga menghasilkan terjemahan yang baik dan dapat di mengerti oleh pembaca. Penerjemahan tidak hanya sekedar mengubah kata, tetapi juga mentransfer kesepadanan budaya dengan budaya bahasa TSu dan penerima bahasa tersebut dengan sebaik-baiknya. Salah satu naskah yang selalu menggunakan proses penerjemahan adalah adalah abstrak. Abstrak bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran umum tentang isi sebuah tulisan karya ilmiah. Karya ilmiah ini merupakan studi kasus penerjemahan abstrak artikel yang diterbitkan di International Journal of Artificial Intelligence (IJAI) pada Terbitan 6(1) tahun 2019. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan proses penerjemahan yang dilakukan pada teks sumber (TSu) ke dalam teks sasaran (TSa) untuk menghasilkan terjemahan yang sepadan dan juga metode atau teknik yang muncul dalam penerjemahan teks sumber (TSu) kedalam teks sasaran (TSa). Dari penelitian yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam proses penerjemahan yang dilakukan pada teks sumber (TSu) ke dalam teks sasaran (TSa) harus mempertimbangkan faktor-faktor yang terkandung di dalam teks tersebut agar mendapatkan hasil terjemahan yang sepadan dan dapat difahami dengan baik oleh pembaca. Faktor utama yang sangat mendukung adalah bahwa penerjemah harus mengetahui istilah-istilah dalam TSu dan memahami penggunaan istilah tersebut sehingga penerjemah bisa dengan mudah menerjemahkan naskah TSu ke dalam TSa. Selain itu, teknik penerjemahan yang banyak digunakan dalam kedua naskah adalah teknik transposisi, teknik meminjam kata baik murni maupun dengan perubahan serta teknik adaptasi dan calque.   Analysis of Translation Techniques in the journal abstract of IJAI 6(1) Abstract: Translation plays an important role in communication. Translation is a series of analytical actions on the source text (TSU) to be translated into equivalent target text (TSA) so as to produce a good translation and can be understood by the reader. Translation does not just change the word, but also transfers the cultural correspondence to the culture of the TSu language and its recipient as best as possible. One of the texts that always uses the translation process is an abstract. Abstract aims to provide an overview of the contents of a scientific paper. This scientific work is a case study of translating article abstracts published in the International Journal of Artificial Intelligence (IJAI) in Issue 6 (1) in 2019. The purpose of this research is to describe the translation process carried out on the source text (TSu) into the target text (TSa) to produce an equivalent translation and also the methods or techniques that appear in the translation of the source text (TSu) into the target text (TSa). From the research conducted, it can be concluded that in the translation process carried out on the source text (TSu) into the target text (TSa) must consider the factors contained in the text in order to get a translation result that is equivalent and can be well understood by readers. The main factor that is very supportive is that the translator must know the terms in TSu and understand the use of these terms so that the translator can easily translate the TSu script into TSa. In addition, the translation techniques that are widely used in the two texts are transposition techniques, techniques for borrowing words both pure and with changes as well as adaptation and calque techniques. Artikel ini bertujuan mengkaji kemahiran mengingat pelajar terhadap lima hukum asas tajwid ketika mentilawahkan al-Quran. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif berbentuk ujian pra dan pasca ke atas 10 orang pelajar tingkatan 2 (DLP) dari Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Panglima Bukit Gantang, Parit Buntar, Perak. Sebelum pengkaji memperkenalkan kaedah pengajaran tajwid yang baharu, pengkaji perlu mengesan terlebih dahulu kelemahan pelajar. Tinjauan awal dilakukan dengan menyemak bacaan pelajar ketika waktu pengajaran dan didapati kebanyakan pelajar tidak mampu mengingat lima hukum asas tajwid selain terdapat banyak kesalahan dalam pembacaan. Jadi, pengkaji memperkenalkan kaedah jari tangan kanan bagi memastikan pelajar boleh mengingat lima hukum asas tajwid dan membaca al-Quran dengan baik. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa, pelajar bukan hanya mampu mengingat hukum-hukum tajwid malah dapat mengkategorikan jenis-jenis bacaan. Dapatan kajian ini juga turut menyumbang kepada maklumat asas mengenai fungsi tanwin (ًٌٍ ) dan nun sakinah (نْ). Kaedah jari tangan kanan mempunyai kelebihan yang tersendiri dan kaedah ini perlu diperluaskan sebagai alat bantu mengajar dalam arus perdana.   Enhancing the Skills of Memorizing the Five Basics of Tajweed in Holy Quran Recitation This article aims to study students’ memorization skills on the five basics of tajweed when reciting the Quran. This study uses a quantitative approach in the form of pre and post-tests on 10 form 2 students (DLP) from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Panglima Bukit Gantang, Parit Buntar, Perak. Before the researcher introduces a new method of teaching tajweed, the researcher must first detect the weaknesses of the students. A preliminary survey was done by checking students’ reciting during teaching sessions and it was found that most students are not able to memorize the five basics of tajweed apart from there are many errors in reciting. So, the researcher introduced the method of the right-hand finger to ensure that students can memorize the five basics of tajweed and recite the holy Quran well. The findings of the study show that students are not only able to memorize tajweed but can also recognize the types of recitation. The findings of this study also contribute to the basic information on the function of tanween (ًٌٍ ) and nun sakinah (نْ). The right-handed finger method has its advantages and this method needs to be expanded as a teaching aid in the mainstream.

Masa pandemi ini sangat mempengaruhi perkembangan siswa dalam melaksanakan kegiatan pembelajaran sehingga harus melakukan pembelajaran jarak jauh. Siswa dikatakan berhasil mengikuti pembelajaran dengan baik dengan melihat hasil belajarnya. Adversity Quotient merupakan salah satu kecerdasan yang dimiliki untuk mengenali kesulitan diri sendiri dan mampu mengubahnya sebagai potensi untuk mengatasi kesulitan. Hal ini penting dilakukan mahasiswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran jarak jauh kali ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara Adversity Quotient dengan hasil belajar matematika. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII di Depok. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah survei dengan analisis data deskriptif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan media Google Form dengan menyebarkan kuesioner yang berjumlah 16 item pernyataan. Responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 130 siswa, dengan 61 siswa laki-laki dan 69 siswa perempuan. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam uji korelasi penelitian ini memiliki nilai sig. 0,000 <0,05. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan dan positif antara Adversity Quotient dengan hasil belajar siswa.   Relationship between Adversity Quotient and Students' Mathematics Learning Outcomes for Distance Learning in Junior High Schools This pandemic period greatly affects the development of students in carrying out learning activities so they have to do distance learning. Students are said to be successful in following the learning well by seeing the learning outcomes. Adversity Quotient is one of the intelligences possessed to recognize one's own difficulties and be able to change them as potential to overcome difficulties. This is important for students in distance learning activities at this time. This study aims to determine the relationship between Adversity Quotient and mathematics learning outcomes. The subjects in this study were 7th grade students in Depok. The research method used was a survey with descriptive data analysis. Collecting data using Google Form media by distributing questionnaires with a total of 16 statement items. Respondents in this study were 130 students, with 61 male students and 69 female students. The results obtained in the correlation test of this study have a sig value. 0.000 <0.05. It can be concluded that there is a significant and positive relationship between Adversity Quotient and student learning outcomes.

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meneroka perspektif guru berkaitan dengan pembelajaran pelajar remaja. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah temubual yang melibatkan seorang guru yang berpengalaman. Instrumen kajian terdiri daripada protokol temubual dan komputer riba. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa faktor pelajar, faktor guru, dan faktor persekitaran bilik darjah mempengaruhi pembelajaran pelajar remaja. Di samping itu, hasil kajian turut mendapati sekolah yang menyediakan kemudahan dan prasarana yang kondusif serta memberi pengiktirafan dan penghargaan kepada pelajar dan guru mampu meningkatkan pembelajaran pelajar remaja. Dari segi ciri-ciri pelajar remaja yang cemerlang, dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa pelajar remaja yang cemerlang memiliki kemahiran etika dan kerohanian, serta sahsiah yang positif. Selain itu, dapatan kajian juga menunjukkan bahawa guru mengakui keberkesanan penggunaan teknologi dan pembelajaran abad ke-21 dalam meningkatkan pembelajaran pelajar remaja. Hasil kajian turut mendapati bahawa guru perlu berkolaborasi dengan pelajar dan menjadi contoh kepada pelajar bagi mewujudkan persekitaran pembelajaran yang kondusif bagi pelajar remaja. Implikasi terhadap aspek pembelajaran pelajar remaja dibincangkan berdasarkan dapatan yang diperoleh dalam kajian ini. Teachers' Perspectives on Teenage Student Learning This study aims to explore teachers' perspectives related to adolescent student learning. This study uses an interview method involving an experienced teacher. The study instruments consisted of interview protocols and laptops. The results of the study found that student factors, teacher factors, and classroom environment factors influence the learning of adolescent students. In addition, the results of the study also found that schools that provide conducive facilities and infrastructure as well as give recognition and appreciation to students and teachers are able to improve the learning of adolescent students. In terms of the characteristics of excellent teenage students, the findings show that excellent teenage students have ethical and spiritual skills, as well as a positive personality. In addition, the findings of the study also show that teachers recognize the effectiveness of the use of technology and 21st century learning in improving the learning of adolescent students. The results also found that teachers need to collaborate with students and be an example to students to create a conducive learning environment for adolescent students. Implications on the learning aspects of adolescent students are discussed based on the findings obtained in this study
