The aim of the article above is an attempt of the natural approach of based categories of bioethics, namely quality of life, the value of human life, and the sanctity of life (the quality of life makes its sanctity). By thorough analysis, in the biological aspect of goodness and evil and by study the emerging of rational and free (human) Being in the evolutional perspective the effort of showing of uniqueness, specificity, and immunity of a human person is undertaken. The analysis tends toward creating a basis for bioethical valuation. Bioethics as interdisciplinary science has to be based on interdisciplinary anthropology taking into account the ontic-existential structure of human beings.

To the Editor.— Singer, in his article "Sanctity of Life or Quality of Life?" (Pediatrics 1983;72:128-129) has rejected the "sanctity-of-life view"—as he defines it. He calls it "the obsolete and erroneous notion of the sanctity of all human life." He states that "the philosophical foundations of this view have been knocked asunder." He adds "We can no longer base our ethics on the idea that human beings are a special form of creation made in the image of God."

This essay offers a reading of “A Most Useful Discussion Concerning Proposals for War against the Turks.” What we have in the “Useful Discussion” is a mock consultation, a literary creation in which Erasmus appears to offer judicious advice on how Christendom might wage a successful war against the Turks, only to undercut the very prospects for such a war by means of various strategies of indirection, hesitation, and ironic reversal. Erasmus works critically and ironically on several levels at once—unsettling the dogmatism of war-mongers, surprising Luther and his critics, frustrating the interests of the powerful, and nudging everyone to think seriously about fundamental questions of human life. Though the “Useful Discussion” may appear to address a specific question about a specific war, it in fact speaks—in its pendular and ironic manner—to more basic questions, inviting readers to reflect with amazement and remorse upon the numbness and deafness of human beings before God; and, on that basis, to work to enhance the moral quality of life.

From the conception that work is a fundamental activity for the development of human beings, we consider that the act of working transforms itself into and through work, relating directly to social identity. On the other hand, it is also observed that the centrality it occupies in the daily routine of human life, especially in the category, imposes a conflicting relationship, because despite being loaded with different investments, work conditions and demands are also causes of illness. physical and mental. In this work activity, interpersonal relationships are directly articulated, involving constant emotional experiences. It is a professional field where the subjectivity of affections emerges in daily life, in daily relationships, involving in most situations children and young people in development. As a thesis, it is argued that these movements, which have a direct reflection on the organization of work processes, have serious consequences on teachers' health, in their physical or mental aspects. As a starting point, we consider the results of a study that analyzed aspects related to the health of basic education teachers from seven Brazilian states, among others, articulating a discussion with a qualitative analysis of internship diaries in School Psychology. Our considerations broaden the questions that are imposed on the teacher in contemporary times that cause them to wear and consequent psychic suffering. Keywords: Teaching work. Worker's health. This review presents one of the eight theories of the quality of life (QOL) used for making the SEQOL (self-evaluation of quality of life) questionnaire or the quality of life as realizing life potential. This theory is strongly inspired by Maslow and the review furthermore serves as an example on how to fulfill the demand for an overall theory of life (or philosophy of life), which we believe is necessary for global and generic quality-of-life research.Whereas traditional medical science has often been inspired by mechanical models in its attempts to understand human beings, this theory takes an explicitly biological starting point. The purpose is to take a close view of life as a unique entity, which mechanical models are unable to do. This means that things considered to be beyond the individual's purely biological nature, notably the quality of life, meaning in life, and aspirations in life, are included under this wider, biological treatise. Our interpretation of the nature of all living matter is intended as an alternative to medical mechanism, which dates back to the beginning of the 20th century. New ideas such as the notions of the human being as nestled in an evolutionary and ecological context, the spontaneous tendency of self-organizing systems for realization and concord, and the central role of consciousness in interpreting, planning, and expressing human reality are unavoidable today in attempts to scientifically understand all living matter, including human life.

Bioethics is an interdisciplinary science that deals with the moral aspects of medicine, biotechnology and the value of life in general. Quality of life concept is the basis for one of the models of bioethics. Its supporters understand the value of human life by relying on the categories of its qualitative characteristics. They argue that the value of life is relative and depends on certain criteria, and prove the permissibility to terminate it in some cases. Quality of life conception is criticized, above all, by those scholars who rely on religious ideas of the equal value and inviolability of all people’s lives. This article reveals several examples of such criticism in the works of Polish and American authors: T. Biesaga, H. Ciach, G. Hołub, P. Kieniewicz, R. P. George and P. Lee. Citing the arguments of that Christian thinkers, the author forms her own attitude to the problem. The ethical and ontological sources of quality of life concept, namely utilitarianism and naturalism, become the main object of criticism. It is significant that in the utilitarian appeal to maximize happiness as pleasure and calculate the gain or loss they see an attempt to establish the primacy of the overall well-being over an individual’s life as well as a reason for killing those individuals whose lives do not meet quality criteria and impair overall well-being. They also criticize such a consequence of the naturalistic view as reduction of the personality to its manifestations. The absence of such manifestations becomes for the supporters of the quality of life concept the basis for conclusion about a low quality of life of some individuals. One more critical remark towards the quality of life concept concern erasing of differences between humans and animals and their interests. The technocratic attitude that permits any manipulations of a human life if only they can be performed is criticized too. The author demonstrates that the fundamental fault of the quality of life concept which is criticized by all its opponents is a limited understanding of human nature and human life.

---------- The article specifies philosophical significance of biopolitics, making a difference between biopolitics as “arbitrary power on biological life” (or politics on life) and biopolitics as “good government in the service of human person” (or politics for life). The first significance refers to the ethical theory of non-cognitivism and subjectivism, that considers law and power as a product of will which refers to itself; the second significance sends back to a theory which recognises the objective values of human nature, as the origin of law and politics. The politics as arbitrary power considers life as a biological object, available and at disposal, without any a priori justification of ethical limits: it is the theory which separates human beings and persons, attributing rights only to persons capable of auto-determination. The politics as good government considers human life as an expression of personal life (form the beginning till the end), recognising its value as an horizon of sense: it is the theory that identifies human being and person, considering each human being and all human beings as subjects of rights.

The ethical outlook that holds human life to be sacrosanct—I shall call it the "sanctity-of-life view"—is under attack. The first major blow to the sanctity of life view was the spreading acceptance of abortion throughout the Western world. Supporters of the sanctity-of-life view have pointed out that some premature babies are less developed than some of the fetuses that are killed in late abortions. They add, very plausibly, that the location of the fetus/infant—inside or outside the womb—cannot make a crucial difference to its moral status. Allowing abortions, especially these late abortions, therefore does seem to breach our defense of the allegedly universal sanctity of innocent human life.

The scientific problem of economics “Managing the quality of human life” is formulated on the basis of artificial intelligence, algebra of logic and logical-probabilistic calculus. Managing the quality of human life is represented by managing the processes of his treatment, training and decision making. Events in these processes and the corresponding logical variables relate to the behavior of a person, other persons and infrastructure. The processes of the quality of human life are modeled, analyzed and managed with the participation of the person himself. Scenarios and structural, logical and probabilistic models of managing the quality of human life are given. Special software for quality management is described. The relationship of human quality of life and the digital economy is examined. We consider the role of public opinion in the management of the “bottom” based on the synthesis of many studies on the management of the economics and the state. The bottom management is also feedback from the top management.

To the Editor.— The commentary by Singer1 must not go unchallenged. This member of the American Academy of Pediatrics takes exception to this statement, and he in no way espouses "religious mumbo-jumbo" which Singer applies to his possible opponents. Nor does this writer espouse the application of heroic measures to the preservation of human life under all circumstances. There is such latitude in Singer's discussion that "quality of life" can mean almost anything. I will not belabor the many aspects of Singer's rhetoric but must make two points.
