This Article intends to develop the notion of status activus digitalis as a fundamental legal condition of the individual in times of digital democracy. Participation in procedures and deliberation (status activus processualis) appears as a central element of democracy, a context in which access to information plays a strategic role. In this scenario, the digital environment enhances this participation (status activus digtialis), while the use of fake news affects this information and, consequently, the public debate, representing a real (not fake!) threat to democracy.

This article aims to understand the rationalities of solid and liquid society characterized by Zygmunt Bauman as metaphors of modernity, relating them to the school and the concept of right to education in times of lyophilisation of the public space. The article consists of a bibliographic research and it discusses the characterization of society in order to decrease the public space. It also problematizes this context based on the concepts of school and the right to education. In this scenario, space and time are reconfigured, announcing another rationality. The virtuality of a networked world made it possible for time to become a mechanism in the conquest of space. Regarding education, in solid modernity, the formation of individuals had as its purpose an education for the whole life, which no longer applies, in Bauman's understanding, in a liquid society. Just as the teaching function represented true and unquestionable knowledge, today it gains a different connotation, given that the power of globalized relations democratized access to information and knowledge. Liquidity announces the centrality of the individual in an increasingly smaller public space, in which it is necessary to discuss about the right to education, this being the set of norms that precepts and regulates the laws regarding education. There are no conclusive answers for confronting such a proposition, but reflecting on these challenges is a first step for it is fundamental to broaden the understanding of the present time, the rationality that operates in it. And, from this, to understand school in such a way that can contribute to the formation of reflective and critical identities.

UNSTRUCTURED Information warfare (IW) involves manipulation, destruction, or denying access to information altogether while maintaining the target’s trust. Psychological operations, a type of IW, concern the majority of the public as it aims to degrade their morale through infodemic and fake news. Fake news related to healthcare was present even before the COVID-19 pandemic. A broad range of content comes under it, like communication of inaccurate information with or without any intention to cause harm, mistaken interpretation of satires, and information spread with definitive socio-political agenda. We discuss the various facets of fake news including its burden in the health sector, pathogenesis, the different psychological perspectives of its spread, and strategies to counter it.

This book presents the collectively authored Public Service Media and Public Service Internet Manifesto and accompanying materials.The Internet and the media landscape are broken. The dominant commercial Internet platforms endanger democracy. They have created a communications landscape overwhelmed by surveillance, advertising, fake news, hate speech, conspiracy theories, and algorithmic politics. Commercial Internet platforms have harmed citizens, users, everyday life, and society. Democracy and digital democracy require Public Service Media. A democracy-enhancing Internet requires Public Service Media becoming Public Service Internet platforms – an Internet of the public, by the public, and for the public; an Internet that advances instead of threatens democracy and the public sphere. The Public Service Internet is based on Internet platforms operated by a variety of Public Service Media, taking the public service remit into the digital age. The Public Service Internet provides opportunities for public debate, participation, and the advancement of social cohesion. Abstract. This journal discusses the development of variations in teaching in increasing learning motivation. The learning process is an activity that involves an individual (physical and spiritual), learning activities are never carried out without a strong motivation or motivation from within the individual or from outside the individual who participates in learning activities. Therefore, the learning process requires the development and use of variations in teaching to generate student motivation. In this paper, the author examines public service as depicted in the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (BtVS). First, she shows how slaying meets the economist’s definition of a public good, using the BtVS episode “Flooded” (6.04). Second, she discusses public service motivation (PSM) to determine whether or not Buffy, a public servant, operates from a public service ethic. Relying on established measures and evidence from shooting scripts and episode transcripts, the author concludes Buffy is a public servant motivated by a public service ethic. In this way, BtVS informs scholarship on public service by broadening the concept of PSM beyond the public sector; prompting one to wonder whether it is located in a sector, an occupation, or in the individual. These conclusions allow the author to situate Buffy alongside other idealized public servants in American popular culture.

Although most economists are skeptical of or puzzled by the Catholic concept of the common good, a rejection of the economic approach as inimical to the common good would be hasty and counterproductive. Economic analysis can enrich the common good tradition in four ways. First, economics embodies a deep respect for economic agency and for the effects of policy and institutions on individual agents. Second, economics offers a rich literature on the nature of unplanned order and how it might be shaped by policy. Third, economics offers insight into the public and private provision of various kinds of goods (private, public, common pool resources). Fourth, recent work on the development and logic of institutions and norms emphasizes sustainability rooted in the good of the individual.

Abstract End-user (e.g. patients or the public) testing of information material is becoming more common in the German public health care system. However, including the end-user (in this case patients) in an optimisation process and thus enabling a close collaboration while developing PIMs is still rare. This is surprising, given the fact that patients provide the exact perspective one is trying to address. Within the isPO project, a patient organization is included as a legal project partner to act as the patient representative and provide the patient's perspective. As such, the patient organization was included in the PHR approach as part of the PIM-optimisation team. During the optimisation process, the patients gave practical insights into the procedures of diagnosing and treating different types of cancer as well as into the patient's changing priorities and challenges at different time points. This was crucial information for the envisioned application of the individual PIMs and their hierarchical overview. Moreover, the developed PIM-checklist enabled the patients to give detailed feedback to the PIMs. With their experience of being in the exact situation in which the PIMs will be applied, their recommendations, especially on the wording and layout of the materials, have been a valuable contribution to the PIM optimisation process. In this part of the seminar, we will take a closer look at the following skill building aspects: What is gained from including patients as end-users in the development and optimization of PIM?How can we reach patients to contribute to a PIM optimization process? Which requirements and prerequisites do patients have to provide to successfully work on an optimisation team?How to compromise and weigh opinions when different ideas occur? Altogether, this part will construct a structured path of productive patient involvement and help to overcome uncertainties regarding a collaboration with patient organizations.
