Character education for students is important for their future because personal character traits determine the quality of human life. This qualitative study aims to analyze the planning and implementation of character education at Taruna Nusantara Senior High School (SHS), Magelang - a boarding senior high school that combines teaching-loving-caring (asah-asih-asuh) and semi-military education. The unit of analysis consists of individuals and group of subjects directly or indirectly involved in the education process at the researched school and the surrounding, as well as the artifacts. The data are collected through interview, observation, and documentation, and  are subsequently analyzed using Huberman and Saldana’s interactive model. The results indicate that, in the planning, the school put more emphasis on three characteristics in character education that characterizes the school:  religiosity, morality and leadership. The planning of character education is participatory and integrated. It is implemented in and around the boarding school learning environment. The activities include teaching, training, parenting, and student development.

Technology that develops along with social changes so that it has an impact on human life, including educational institutions in the family. The study in this study is a field with a phenomenological nature. This study aims to examine the PAI high school and vocational high school Muhammadiyah teachers in Banjarmasin City about the values given by parents as religious teachers to their children. The results showed that; First, the values given by parents as PAI teachers in Banjarmasin City in providing education in the family are to give the values of faith, faith and sharia. Second, the challenges are so great for parents as teachers in providing education to their children, so parents provide additional religious education to their children, which is to enter the boarding school with a full day school learning system.

<p><em>Cases of cheating, promiscuity, making sordid video student in the classroom are the phenomena of decline in character education at the school. In this sense, character education is essential to emphasized. This research uses qualitative approach, by applying design research CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, and Product). In context of building the nation character values at the school will success on condition that it is accompanied with system and climate supported by each school. One of supporting system and climate is the headmaster's policies on the regulation that support the implementation of character education, and this policy should be supported by infrastructure of the school. The input aspect that determines inculcation of nation character values in these both schools is the quality of the school resources including headmaster, teachers, educational staffs, students, and education infrastructures. From the aspects of process, inculcation nation character values on these schools is implemented through the integration of the Islamic religious education subject and culture of the school. Syllabus and RPP on subjects of Islamic religious education in State Senior High School 1 Kudus and State Senior High School 1 Jepara have already been insightful with the education of nation character. The aspects of product from internalization of cultural values and nation character are embodied in attitudes and behaviors of the students at school and society.</em></p>

International Journal of Contemporary Islamic Education volume 2 issue 1 offers six   articles covering topics of Islamic education studies. Various issues relating to Islamic education interestingly presented to contribute to the body of knowledge and practices. Academia and practitioners in Islamic education studies may gain insight from reading the articles.   The first article is titled “Active Learning Strategies Implementation in Arabic Teaching at Senior High School” written by Asmawati Asmawati, Asy’ari Asy’ari, and Malkan Malkan from Postgraduate studies Institut Agama Islam Negeri Palu. This paper discusses the implementation of  active learning strategy in Arabic teaching at a senior high school in Palu city. The second article is titled “ Teachers’ Strategy in Improving Students’ Learning Achievement  of Al-Qur’an and Hadits  at Madrasah Tsanawiyah” written by Mardiah Mardiah, Askar Askar, and Rustina Rustina.   The paper discussed the strategies of teachers of the Qur'an and hadith subjects in improving the learning achievement of students in Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Al-Khairaat Biromaru.  The third article is titled “Contribution of Islamic Education Values in Marriage Tradition of Banggai Ethnic, Indonesia” written by Oyan D. Taufik, Sagaf S. Pettalongi, and Sidik Sidik. The paper discusses  the contribution of Islamic education values in marriage according to the customs of the tribe in district of Banggai Bulagi. The fourth paper is tittled “The Role of Environment in Improving Learning Quality:  A Case Study of Al-Istiqamah Modern Islamic Boarding School” written by Rara Pratiwi, Kamaruddin Kamaruddin, and Adawiyah Adawiyah. The paper discusses the role of learning environment in improving the quality of learning students in modern boarding school Al-Istiqamah Ngatabaru. The fifth article is titled “Effectiveness the Use of Audio Visual Media in Teaching Islamic Religious Education” written by Winarto Winarto, Ahmad Syahid, and Fatimah Saguni. The paper discussed  the effectiveness of using audio visual as media in improving learning achievement of a Islamic Junior high school. The last paper  is title “The Role of Islamic Education Teachers Competency in Improving the Quality of Education” written by Zuhaeriah Zuhaeriah, Moh. Ali, and Yusra Yusra. This research has the goal to the rise of ideology kiaiat State Senior High School (SMAN)Darussholah in the progress of the implementation of quality education organized by the government. There is avery dominant influence from outside that affects the process of the ongoing education. This study concludesthrough the analysis that the inclusion of ideology kiaiinterfere with the development of education in SMANDarussholah to become a professional educational institution. It is necessary for the role of government inproviding facilities and infrastructure to achieve professional education institutions. Likewise with the kiai byentering ideology kiai should be able to provide infrastructure such as dormitories and human resources toimprove the quality of education in the boarding school.

The decline of national values caused by the weakness of character education. This research aims to gain an overview of the character education management in high school-based boarding school in Bandung. The method used is descriptive qualitative approach method and technique of triangulation. Research results show that management education character was made based on the appropriate program of management and the functions are used. The conclusion that the management of character education in high school-based boarding school in Bandung was made from planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring that in it there is the assessment process although those are not optimal

This study aims to determine the implementation of boarding school programs in the formation of student characters in State Senior High School of Cahaya Madani Banten Boarding School Pandeglang Banten. The type of this research is qualitative descriptive research. The research data was collected with several techniques, such as observation, interview, and documentation. Triangulation technique is done by means of triangulation method, that is by checking the information result of interview with documentation and observation. The results of the discussion of the implementation of boarding school programs in the formation of student characters include: There is guidance of character education that appear in State Senior High School of Cahaya Madani Banten Boarding School Pandeglang Banten include: 1) Religious, attitude, and behavior; 2) Discipline, actions that demonstrate orderly conduct and abide by various rules and regulations. 3) Honest behavior based on an attempt to make himself or herself a person who can always be trusted in words, actions, and work. 4) Mandiri, 5) Responsibility of the attitude and behavior of a person to carry out his duties and obligations, which he should do, to oneself, society, environment (nature, social and culture), state, and god almighty. So far, in implementing school strategies, they tend not to utilize Information and Communication Technology (ICT), despite the availability of ICT resources available. Stages of strategic management are needed to generate the vision, mission, objectives, policy, program, budget, and procedures as well as control and evaluation process as an effort to utilize ICT to improve school quality. Based on the interpretation and the results of the study, it is concluded that schools have organized stages in strategic management that enable schools to have a quality profile. The impact of effective utilization of ICTs for schools is the achievement of effective school management, as per the National Education Standards, which is characterized by effective planning, implementation, control, and evaluation of school ICTs.The purpose of this study is to get a general description, describe, and reveal the Strategic Management of Information and Communication Technology Utilization to Improve the Quality of School Learning in Ciledug Al Musaddadiyah Vocational High School and Garut 1 Vocational High School, both on environmental analysis, strategic formulation, implementation and strategic evaluation. The research method used in this research is the case study method, because the problems studied occur in the place and situation of Ciledug Al Musaddadiyah Vocational School and Vocational High School 1 Garut. The use of case study models in this study is based on the consideration that to provide an overview of the strategic management activities of the use of ICTs carried out at vocational high schools with the ultimate goal of being able to improve the quality of school learning. Based on observations in the field of SMK 1 Garut and SMK Al Musaddadiyah Ciledug Garut is one of the public schools and private schools that have these advantages.

Indriyani et al, (2013) stated that many students had dificulty in understanding the generic structure of analytical exposition text. Therefore, the present study tried to investigate the correlation between students understanding in writing generic structure of analytical exposition and the quality of students’ writing in second grade of senior hight school. Grounded in explanatory correlational research design by Creswell (2011), this study conducted over two weeks in one of senior high school in Indramayu. Close-ended questionnaire and writing test were instruments to collect the data and it was analyzed  by using SPSS 22. The statistical calculation from students understanding in writing generic stucture of the text and writing test indicated that the value of tcount was 3.23 and the value of ttable was 0.361. It can be concluded that the hypothesis was accepted because tcount 3.23 > ttable 0.361. The finding reveal that there was middle correlation or middle prediction in students understanding of generic structure of analytical exposition and students writing quality with the score 0,52.
