This study aims to produce a motor learning model with modifications of traditional games for lower grade elementary school children. The stages of this research method are educational research and development (R & D) which adapts development research according to Borg & Gall (Kurdi & Sukadiyanto, 2014), namely: (1) potential and problems; (2) information collection; (3 ) product design (model draft); (4) expert validation and revision; (5) small-scale field trials and revisions; (6) large-scale field trials and revisions; (7) final product manufacture, revision of small-scale trials on 27 lower grade students namely grade II, and grade III at SDN 2 Gerung; (8) large-scale product trial on 40 grade II and third grade students at SD Negeri 1 Gerung; (9) product revision and, (10) benefits and implementation of the development of learning models. The instruments are: (1) interviews; (2) score scales; (3) teacher observations; (4) observation of the effectiveness of the model, and (5) student questionnaires. Data analysis techniques are descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. Results This research is in the form of a motor learning model with modifications a traditional game for lower grade elementary school children which contains five games, namely: (1) Gobak Sodor, (2) Jemprak/Engklek, (3) Grave Jumping, (4) Cat and Mouse, (5) Zig-Zag Sack Race, compiled in the form of a manual. From the results of data analysis on the assessment of material experts and student questionnaires, it can be concluded that the motor learning model with modified traditional games for lower grade elementary school children has a positive and effective response. This is evidenced by the percentage of each qualitative data requested is above 75% on a large scale, so that it can be used in physical education learning in elementary schools.

Objective: To supplement the few small-scale studies on convenience samples of boys with an epidemiological study on the prevalence of gender-atypical behaviors (GABs) in boys and girls and to assess the influence of variation of age, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status. Method: The present study, a postal questionnaire survey, used an existing pool of GAB items for boys, developed comparable GAB items for girls, and analyzed parent-reported frequencies of GABs in a demographically heterogeneous community sample of 687 boys and girls age 6 to 10 years. Results: The majority of GABs were quite rare, but there was considerable variability in their prevalence. Nevertheless, many children show multiple GABs although each individual GAB at low frequency; for instance, 10 or more different GABs were exhibited by 22.8% of boys and 38.6% of girls. Only a few GABs varied significantly with age, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. Conclusions: These data are of relevance to clinicians counseling parents who are worried about the occurrence of GABs in their children.

Kata Kunci: model, permainan sepak takraw, pendidikan jasmani, sekolah dasar Developing Sepak Takraw Game Models as a Physical Education Learning for the Upper Class Students of Elementary School  AbstractThe research aims at developing models of sepak takraw game in physical education teaching for upper class students of elementary school. The model of sepak takraw game which is developed can be used by the elementary teacher in teaching small ball game especially sepak takraw for upper class students effectively. This study was a research and development conducted in 9 steps by adapting educational research and development according to Gall, Gall, & Borg’s model. The result of the research is sepak takraw game models consists of 20 types of games that are grouped into five categories based on the basic playing techniques namely: kicking, defense, service, smash, and games. The game models are: (1) based on kicking techniques: bola apung game, bola jinak game, bola bumerang game, bolalik game, and bolan game; (2) based on defense techniques: ombak bola game, bolarus game, bosi game, bolabola game, and bona game; (3) based on service techniques: bontung game, bolatong game, perang bola game, bolvis game, and bovispo game; (4) based on the smash techniques: bomes game; and (5) based on the game: mangdul game, bolnet game, bolnetri game, and bola vokra game. This study aims to create a product in the form of a game model based on environmental insights for elementary school children. This research is a research development using research and development from Borg and Gall which consists of ten steps. In this study, researchers only used eight steps because after conducting a small group trial and product evaluation it was declared to be feasible for a primary trial or field trial by experts. This study involved 80 subjects aged 6-12 years. Data collected through observation, interviews, and tests. The significant value of the difference in the results of t-count = 28,971, and p-value = 0.00 <0.05, which means there is a significant difference in understanding of environmental insights before and after being treated in the form of a game model based on environmental insights. It was concluded that the game model developed was effective in increasing understanding of environmental knowledge for children aged 6-12 years.

The present study tested the effect of a school-based physical activity (PA) program on quality of life (QoL) in 540 elementary school children. First and fifth graders were randomly assigned to a PA program or a no-PA control condition during one academic year. QoL was assessed by the Child Health Questionnaire at baseline and postintervention. Based on mixed linear model analyses, physical QoL in first graders and physical and psychosocial QoL in fifth graders were not affected by the intervention. In first graders, the PA intervention had a positive impact on psychosocial QoL (effect size [d], 0.32; p < .05). Subpopulation analyses revealed that this effect was caused by an effect in urban (effect size [d], 0.38; p < .05) and overweight first graders (effect size [d], 0.45; p < .05). In conclusion, a school-based PA intervention had little effect on QoL in elementary school children.
