Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) keefektifan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan GI, dan (2) manakah yang lebih efektif antara kedua metode tersebut ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir kritis dan komunikasi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan rancangan pretest-posttest nonequivalent group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan GI keduanya efektif. Tidak terdapat perbedaan keefektifan diantara keduanya  ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada pembelajaran himpunan di kelas VII. Kata Kunci: STAD, GI, berpikir kritis, komunikasi matematis.  THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE COOPERATIVE LEARNING STAD AND GI IN TERMS OF CRITICAL THINKING AND MATHEMATICAL COMMUNICATION Abstract This study aims to describe: (1) the effectiveness of cooperative learning model of STAD type and GI, and (2) the more effective model between the two in terms of critical thinking skills and students' mathematical communication. This study is a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest nonequivalent group design. The results show that cooperative learning of STAD type and GI approach are effective. There is no difference between them in terms of the effectiveness of critical thinking skills and the students’ mathematical communication skills  in the teaching of the material on sets to class VII. Nowadays the development of thinking skills has become the main focus in educational research. Standard of graduate competency mandate that graduates of schools to universities in Indonesia must have thinking skills.  Related to this, the goal of this quasi-experimental study was to describe the effectivity of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) student worksheets to improve students' critical thinking skills (CTS) in the topic of mixtures separation. This study was carried out in the SMPN 1 Pugung by using the Non-Equivalent (Pretest-Posttest) Control Group Design. The effectivity of PjBL student worksheets measured based on the n-gain and the effect size values. Statistically, the n-gain value of the experimental class was higher than the control class. The effect size value was in medium categorized.  These results indicated that the PjBL student worksheets were effective to improve students' CTS in the topic of mixtures separation. Keywords: student worksheets, project-based learning, critical thinking skills, mixtures separation

The STAD cooperative learning model can support active, independent and responsible learning for students. The application of this model is expected to improve students' critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of students' critical thinking skills using Edmodo-assisted learning models. Edmodo was modified to become a teacher tool to expand learning at home. This research is an experimental study using a pretest-posttest control group design involving 39 students of class VIII MTs At-Taqwa Beru, Sikka, East Nusa Tenggara. Based on the results of the study it was found that the Edmodo-assisted STAD type cooperative learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills.

The background of the problem in this study originated from students' mathematical critical thinking skills that are still low. One way to overcome these problems is to use Jigsaw cooperative learning. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of jigsaw cooperative learning on the ability to think critically mathematically elementary school students. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method with nonequivalent groups pretest-posttets design. The subject of this research is the fifth grade students of SD Negeri Andir Kidul 1, Bandung Municipality. The instrument used was a test item to measure students' mathematical critical thinking skills. Based on the results of data analysis using the t test at a significance level of 0.05, from the t test results obtained 0.192 results. So it can be concluded that Jigsaw cooperative learning has a significant influence on students' mathematical critical thinking skills.

This study aims to determine the effect of applying blended learning on static electricity material to students' critical thinking abilities. This study used a quasi-experimental research method with a pretest-posttest control group design. This study uses Mann Whitney U-Test data analysis techniques so that the data can be said to have a significant difference to the critical thinking skills of the experimental class using blended learning and the control class using direct (conventional) learning. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect after learning in blended learning which is characterized by differences in N-gain mean values that are significant between the experimental class and the control class, where the N-gain value in the experimental class is higher than the average N- gain in the control class.

Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan penemuan terbimbing untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan komunikasi matematis serta mendeskripsikan kualitas hasil pengembangan perangkat tersebut. Kualitas hasil pengembangan ditentukan berdasarkan pada kriteria dari Nieveen, yaitu valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan. Model pengembangan yang digunakan diadaptasi dari model Dick dan Carey. Adaptasi model Dick dan Carey menghasilkan 3 tahap pengembanan (define, design, dan develop). Subjek uji coba dalam penelitian ini adalah 60 siswa kelas 8 SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. Instrumen yang digunakan antara lain lembar validasi, lembar penilaian dari guru dan siswa, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, serta tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan komunikasi matematis. Analisis data kevalidan dan analisis data kepraktisan masing-masing dilakukan dengan cara mengkonversi data kuantitatif berupa skor hasil penilaian menjadi data kualitatif berupa nilai standar skala lima. Analisis data keefektifan tes ketercapaian kompetensi dilakukan dengan cara menentukan persentase ketuntasan minimal, sedangkan analisis tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan komunikasi matematis ditentukan peningkatannya.  Hasil validasi ahli, penilaian dari guru dan siswa, observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, dan hasil tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan komunikasi matematis siswa memberikan bukti bahwa perangkat pembelajaran telah memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Developing instructional kits using the guided discovery to increase creative thinking and mathematical communication skills AbstractThis research is aimed to produced learning kits using guided discovery approach to increase the creative thinking and mathematical communication skills and to describe the quality of the result of the development. The quality of learning kits determined based on Nieveen’s criteria, those are valid, practical, and effective. This research is development research adapted from Dick, and Carey model. The modified of this model resulted 3 stages of development steps (define, design, and develop). The subjects of this study are 60 grade 8 students of Muhammadiyah Junior High School 3 of Yogyakarta. The research instruments were validation sheet, assessment sheets from teacher and students, learning observation sheet, and critical thinking and mathematical communication skills test. The validity and practicality data analysis were done by converting the actual score into qualitative data with standard scale of five. The effectiveness of data analysis was done by determining the percentage of minimum completeness, while the analysis of critical thinking skills and mathematical communication tests determined the improvement. The results of experts’ validation, assessments from teachers and students, learning observation, and critical thinking and mathematical communication skills test, provide the evidence that the learning kits are valid, practical and effective.

This study aims to determine how influence of modified problem-based learning by Integrated Theory and Practical Analytical Chemistry (MPBL-ITPAC) to critical thinking and scientific communication skills. This research is part of a research and educational development, R & D, which uses a quasi experimental method. The program was arranged and implemented on using 45 students of an experimental class, compared with 41 students as a controlled class. The research instrument used was multiple choice test with 5 options to assess critical thinking skills, and written essay test to assess scientific communication skills, in addition to observation sheet was used as supporting instrument to evaluate the development of oral communication skills. The results shows that: (1) In general, the achievement of critical thinking is 52.2% for experimental class, while controlled class is 32.7%, both values differ significantly, (2) In all sub critical thinking skills which includes identifying the criteria answers correct, identify the reasons stated, identifying relevany & irrelevancy, using the existing procedure, consider the alternative, giving reasons, making hypotheses, the selection criteria to create solutions, and propose an alternative that allows the achievement of experimental class was significantly higher than control class, (3) the achievement of communication skills is 52.9% for experimental class and 29.2% for controlled class, both values differ significantly, (4) In sub-skills of communication in the form logical argue, put forward the hypothesis, put forward the necessary data types, considerations to take conclusions, and describes the schema tool, experimental class achievement significantly higher than the control class, and (5) development of oral communication skills of students increased at every stage in its path.Keywords: problem based learning, critical thinking skills, scientific communication skills
