The lip synchronization technology of animation can run automatically through the phoneme-to-viseme map. Since the complexity of facial muscles causes the shape of the mouth to vary greatly, phoneme-to-viseme mapping always has challenging problems. One of them is the allophone vowel problem. The resemblance makes many researchers clustering them into one class. This paper discusses the certainty of allophone vowels as a variable of the phoneme-to-viseme map. Vowel allophones pre-processing as a proposed method is carried out through formant frequency feature extraction methods and then compared by t-test to find out the significance of the difference. The results of pre-processing are then used to reference the initial data when building phoneme-to-viseme maps. This research was conducted on maps and allophones of the Indonesian language. Maps that have been built are then compared with other maps using the HMM method in the value of word correctness and accuracy. The results show that viseme mapping preceded by allophonic pre-processing makes map performance more accurate when compared to other maps.

Correctly identifying human activities is very significant in modern life. Almost all feature extraction methods are based directly on acceleration and angular velocity. However, we found that some activities have no difference in acceleration and angular velocity. Therefore, we believe that for these activities, any feature extraction method based on acceleration and angular velocity is difficult to achieve good results. After analyzing the difference of these indistinguishable movements, we propose several new features to improve accuracy of recognition. We compare the traditional features and our custom features. In addition, we examined whether the time-domain features and frequency-domain features based on acceleration and angular velocity are different. The results show that (1) our custom features significantly improve the precision of the activities that have no difference in acceleration and angular velocity; and (2) the combination of time-domain features and frequency-domain features does not significantly improve the recognition of different activities.

The presence of marine ambient noise makes it difficult to extract effective features from ship-radiated noise. Traditional feature extraction methods based on the Fourier transform or wavelets are limited in such a complex ocean environment. Recently, entropy-based methods have been proven to have many advantages compared with traditional methods. In this paper, we propose a novel feature extraction method for ship-radiated noise based on hierarchical entropy (HE). Compared with the traditional entropy, namely multiscale sample entropy (MSE), which only considers information carried in the lower frequency components, HE takes into account both lower and higher frequency components of signals. We illustrate the different properties of HE and MSE by testing them on simulation signals. The results show that HE has better performance than MSE, especially when the difference in signals is mainly focused on higher frequency components. Furthermore, experiments on real-world data of five types of ship-radiated noise are conducted. A probabilistic neural network is employed to evaluate the performance of the obtained features. Results show that HE has a higher classification accuracy for the five types of ship-radiated noise compared with MSE. This indicates that the HE-based feature extraction method could be used to identify ships in the field of underwater acoustic signal processing.

The purpose of this study is to (1) analyzing the level of retail mix consumer satisfaction; (2) analyze the dominant variable in retail mix consumer satisfaction; (3) analyze the difference of retail mix consumer satisfaction performed. The observed of the retail industry is Alfamidi and Indomaret. The study was designed into a descriptive-quantitative method. The source of primary data obtained from the questionnaire of 100 respondents. The formulating variable of retail mix includes: merchandise assortments, pricing, customer services Store design and display, communication mix, and location. Data analyze by using descriptive, analysis of factors, and t-test. The result confirmed that the level of retail mix consumer satisfaction in both industry is relatively similar. However, it can be stated that the respondents were more satisfied to Indomaret compared with Alfamart.

Background:One of the efforts in preventing congenital food disease is by washing the cutlery perfectly. The cutlery used by patients with infectious diseases should be noted more, because it has a risk in disease transmission through cutlery. The process of washing the cutlery for infected patients in Queen Latifa Hospital use three compartement sink method with hot water, while the three compartement sink method with clorine solvent has never been tested. Purpose: Research was to determine the difference in the number of germs in the tool was washed using three compartement sink method with hot water and with clorine solvent. Method:Types of research is experiment with rancangan percobaan acak kelompok (RAK). The object of this research is 4 plates and 4 bowls. The number of experimental units in this research were 2 treatments x 2 cutlery x 2 checks x 2 reapetitions = 16 experimental units. The analysis used independent t-test with 95% confidence level. Result :The average number of germs in the cutlery washed using the three compartment sink method with hot water was 1 x 101 cfu / cm2, whereas with chlorine solvent is 0.2 cfu / cm2. Independent test t-test shows p = 0.049 which means the hypothesis is accepted. onclusion : There are differences in the number of germs in the washing cutlery using the three compartment sink method with hot water and with chlorine solvent.   Keywords: number of germs, cutlery, three compartment sink

The problem of two layers of immiscible fluid, bordered above by an unbounded layer of passive fluid and below by a flat bed, is formulated and discussed. The resulting equations are given by a first-order, four-dimensional system of PDEs of mixed-type. The relevant physical parameters in the problem are presented and used to write the equations in a non-dimensional form. The conservation laws for the problem, which are known to be only six, are explicitly written and discussed in both non-Boussinesq and Boussinesq cases. Both dynamics and nonlinear stability of the Cauchy problem are discussed, with focus on the case where the upper unbounded passive layer has zero density, also called the free surface case. We prove that the stability of a solution depends only on two ‘baroclinic’ parameters (the shear and the difference of layer thickness, the former being the most important one) and give a precise criterion for the system to be well-posed. It is also numerically shown that the system is nonlinearly unstable, as hyperbolic initial data evolves into the elliptic region before the formation of shocks. We also discuss the use of simple waves as a tool to bound solutions and preventing a hyperbolic initial data to become elliptic and use this idea to give a mathematical proof for the nonlinear instability.
