The UI Makara Satellite Clinic (KSUI) is a university clinic that serves UI residents and the public as well as a vehicle for  education  and  health  research  in  primary  services.  It has been  a  BPJS  Outpatient  Service  Clinic  (KPRJ)  since October  2018.  It  is  called  a Satellite  Clinic  because  it  is planned  to  become  a  satellite  for  university  hospitals  in the academic health system at the University of Indonesia. Currently, KSUI is located on the Depok campus and the Salemba campus. In its daily services at the Depok campus, KSUI provides  services  for  doctors,  dentists,  nursing, pharmacy,  laboratories,  action  rooms, and psychological counseling.KSUI’s mission is not the same as an ordinary outpatient clinic, but because KSUI is a health service facilitated by the university, KSUI has a mission to maintain the health of the academic community, and not only treat them when they fall  ill.  Therefore,  in  addition  to  services that  respond  to patients coming to the clinic, KSUI also organizes periodic health check services, facilitates Posbindu activities in the faculties and office buildings on campus, and participates in medical care at any gathering or sports activities provided on campus.With  the  Covid-19  case  being  found  in  Indonesia,  KSUI decided  to  change  its service  method  as  quickly  and  as firmly  as  possible  from  face-to-face  services  to online services,  following  the  Chancellor’s  Decree  to  close  the campus  from  face-to-face  learning  and  other  student activities.  With  the  return  of  the  UI  dormitory students and  the  implementation  of  work  from  home  (WFH)  for lecturers  and education  staff,  KSUI  must  provide  safe services during a pandemic and can be accessed by service users  without  having  to  come  to  campus.  Therefore,  this article is a brief piece of information that has been done by KSUI when it decided that services should be carried out online.  It  is  not  easy  for  the  officer,  because  it  has  never been done, and it is not easy for the patient.

Telecommunications are vital devices for researchers to exchange information between researchers located in different places around the globe. This kind of exchange can be regarded as external concerning individual institutions. But also internally there are people with matching interests. Why should they hold their seminars or meetings gathering in one place face-to-face at the pre-agreed point of time? This question has lately puzzled the academic community, and will still puzzle during the years to come. Further questions also arise: Will the Internet and WWW technology provide novel solutions? Does the new technology drastically change the dynamics of such group gatherings? The Internet must be seen more than a new medium. It is an infrastructure for commerce, a universal conduit of ideas, a parallel universe where people are exchanging information on an unprecedented scale (Schwartz 1997). Changes in the modes of communication are also emerging. We have at our disposal a powerful medium suited for one-to-one and many-to-many communications (Hoffman and Novak, 1996). On a practical level these developments can be seen in the speed of diffusion of this new technology. Finland, for instance, has turned out to be one of the densest Internet countries in the world. There are 500,000 daily and one million weekly Internet-users (Finland has a total population of 5.1 million). Thirty-six per cent of all the users classify as students, which is not surprising, since all universities in Finland have Internet connections and e-mail addresses available for student use (TOY Research 11/1998). The Internet is also by nature an open system. Thus, in practice for the first time, we now have at our disposal a tool that allows us easily to connect and work within the university as well as with other universities.

Abstract INTRODUCTION Controversy exists as to whether telephone clinics are appropriate in neurosurgical-oncology. The COVID-19 pandemic forced neuro-oncology services worldwide to re-design and at the University Hospitals Birmingham UK, telephone clinics were quickly implemented in select patients to limit numbers of patients attending hospital. It was important to determine how these changes were perceived by patients. METHODS A 20-question patient satisfaction questionnaire was distributed to patients who attended neuro-oncology clinic in person (“face-to-face”), or via the telephone. Fisher’s exact test was used to determine significance, which was set at p< 0.05. RESULTS Eighty questionnaires were distributed between June 2020 and August 2020. Overall, 50% (n=40) of patients returned the questionnaire, 50% (n=23) of face-to-face and 50% (n=17) telephone patients. Of those who received telephone consultations, 88% (n=15) felt the consultation was convenient, 88% (n=15) were satisfied with their consultation and 18% (n=3) felt they would have preferred to have a face-to-face appointment. Of those who attended clinic in person, 96% (n=22) felt their consultation was convenient, 100% (n=23) were satisfied with their consultation and 13% (n=3) would have preferred a telephone consultation. Within the face-to-face clinic attendees, only 13% (n=3) were concerned regarding the COVID risk associated with attending hospital. There was no significant difference in patient convenience or satisfaction (p=0.565 and p=0.174 respectively) between face-to-face and telephone clinics. There was no significant difference in whether patients would’ve preferred the alternative method of consultation (p > 0.999). CONCLUSION Our study suggests that careful patient selection for neuro-oncology telephone clinic is not inferior to face-to-face clinic. Telephone clinic during COVID-19 pandemic proved to be convenient, safe and effective. This global health crisis has transformed telephone neuro-oncology consultations from an experimental innovation into established practice and should be continued beyond the pandemic in select cases.

The University Abdou Moumouni (UAM) of Niamey in Niger mainly focused on traditional face to face learning, and even the existence of the African Virtual University since the years 1999 did not change the situation. It is only after the official opening at the University of the Francophone Digital Campus in December 2003 that lecturers and students started overseeing and taking advantages of all the benefits of e-Learning and distance learning. The present paper builds on the author’s personal initiatory experience in e-Learning to highlight some specific challenges that traditional universities such as the UAM face in their efforts to introduce e-Learning and distance learning as a new mode of course delivery. The study shows that even though challenges are big, political and institutional support can freshen the perspectives and change opportunities into realities.

This research aims to (1) find out the results of the implementation of Learning Management System (LMS)-Google Classroom in the online learning process for Informatics Engineering students, Universitas Potensi Utama during the COVID-19 pandemic; (2) learn about students' responses to online learning using LMS-Google Classroom. This research is based on the transformation of the course process from face-to-face learning to remote learning (PJJ) by relying on technology as a substitute for learning media, known as distance learning and online learning. This research was conducted using case study methods. This research was conducted on informatics engineering students in multimedia courses. Sampling techniques using purposive sampling methods. The results showed that the application of LMS-Google Classroom to online learning for Informatics Engineering students during the COVID-19 pandemic had a positive effect, especially in terms of absorption related to understanding lecture materials. Based on the results of student questionnaire calculations, it was obtained that as many as 23% of students find it difficult to attend lectures using LMS-Google Classroom which is reviewed in terms of technological efficiency and material understanding level. Meanwhile, 77% of students are happy and enthusiastic about gaining a new learning experience after using LMS-Google Classroom to participate in multimedia lectures. It can be concluded that the implementation of LMS-Google Classroom in online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic is one of the solutions that can be used so that the lecture process can continue. However, it is necessary to provide assistance and control over student activities to keep students motivated in following the lecture process in the context of online learning.

AbstractThe COVID-19 pandemic brought a series of challenges to the academic community. Social distancing measures imposed the interruption of face-to-face activities besides the implementation of remote work and online classes. For safe and gradual return, the monitoring of individuals, quick detection of infection, contact tracing, and isolation of those infected became essential. In this sense, we developed strategies to face the pandemic at the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA) - Brazil. A Telemedicine Program (TeleCovid) and the assemblage of a laboratory for SARS-CoV-2 molecular diagnosis (LabCovid) were essential measures for monitoring, preventing, and controlling outbreaks at the university. TeleCovid works with a team of students who guide and answer questions regarding COVID-19 and, when necessary, make the referral for online consultation with medical professionals. In the suspicion of SARS-CoV-2 infection, the doctor refers the patient for testing at LabCovid. LabCovid performs the sample collection using nasal swabs, followed by processing samples by the RT-qPCR method. We have placed all positive patients in isolation and tested their contacts. This approach meant that positive cases were identified early, thus avoiding outbreaks in different environments in face-to-face activities.

The COVID-19 pandemic took its toll on many countries in early 2020 after the first case was reported in China at the end of 2019. Malaysia was not spared either and the Government was forced to take a bold yet drastic measure in implementing the Movement Control Order (MCO) in earnest on 18 March 2020. The measure, akin to a lockdown, practically forced all forms of socio-economics and socio-educational activities to come to an abrupt stop. Schools, institutions of higher learning and training centers were directed to close its doors to students. Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) had to abruptly implement contingency plans in the wake of the negative impact brought about by the pandemic. Almost all academic activities had to be reorganized when majority of the students opted to return to the safety of their home environment, and the staff were required to work from home in compliant with the MCO. This development necessitated the University to introduce the remote learning mode in place of the traditional face to face learning and teaching (T&L). Various other strategies and measures were also introduced by the University which required reprioritization of tasks and determining possible risks that could impede normal daily operations. UUM opted for a holistic approach to address the impending concerns and to ensure the continuity of the education process and to address the wellbeing of its staff who are forced to work from home.

The relation between assignment and exam performances of the university students and their academic procrastination behaviors in distance and face-to-face learning environments was investigated in this study. Empirical research carried out both in face-to-face and online environments have generally shown a negative correlation between academic procrastination and academic performance. However, the effect of academic procrastination on assignments in distance learning setting has not been analyzed extensively. To understand the interaction between academic procrastination and the learning environment; assignment and exam performances of eighty-eight university students in face-to-face (FtF) and distance learning (DL) environments were investigated. According to the findings of the study, students’ academic procrastination and assignment scores were negatively correlated in both environments but especially in DL setting. Contrary to this, academic procrastination and exam scores were correlated to each other only in FtF environment. On the other hand, there was no correlation between total assignment and exam scores for DL group, while a medium positive correlation was found in FtF group. The findings of binary logical regression analysis demonstrated that predictive value of the DL environment for assignment score is much stronger than academic procrastination behavior of students.

As the last institution at the end of the education system, the university is committed to preparing competent professionals for each field of expertise, including future teachers. An essential goal in the training of pedagogical specialists is to get to know the potential of the personality and to enhance its development at all key levels. The situation with Covid-19 has highlighted its growing importance, given the urgent need to transition from face-to-face learning to distance education. In the course of the rapidly spreading epidemic, the role of ICT in education became clear. It has been proven that in the conditions of global crisis it is the information and communication technologies that successfully mediate the learning process. It was found that digital competencies are vital for the subjects in the pedagogical interaction, because they ensure the dialogue in the virtual educational environment. Undoubtedly, the foundation of its qualitative implementation affects the motivation for selfactualization of interacting between teachers and students. After identifying the need to improve the quality of distance education, this article presents the advantages of meaning-centered management of virtual educational environments in the academic preparation of pedagogical specialists. The following questions become relevant: (1) What is the meaning?; (2) What will develop?; (3) How will it be formed?, which respectively constitute the conceptual, personal and activity aspect of the pedagogical interaction from a distance.

The study compares the performance of distance learning students with full-time students in a traditional face-to-face learning environment. This study is one aspect of a larger research project designed to gain insight into factors that may influence the performance of distance learning students. The data used in the study represent the graduating GPA (Grade Point Average) and CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average). The result showed that students of Distance Learning Institute (DLI) performed better in business administration than the mainstream students, while the mainstream accounting students perform better than the DLI accounting students. Results indicated that there was a statistically significant difference in final grades of these groups of students.


The outbreak of COVID-19 has had a significant impact on the educational system around the world. It prompted the closure of educational institutions, which had a negative impact on the student activities all over the world. COVID-19 required confinement and isolation due to its infectious nature thus imposed seclusion, which has a significant impact on lecturers and student’s personal interactions. The quantitative approach has been adopted and responses using the data that collected through online questionnaires from 200 students from Department of Information technology and Communication at Politeknik Ungku Omar. This research was conducted during August – September 2021 and the data were recorded in SPSS and analyzed using descriptive statistics. This study reveals that the most difficulties in e-Learning to adjust their learning styles and maintain focus. Moreover, students also most of the students have less motivation when learning online compared to face-to-face learning. The mean perceived in the differences of perceptions according to gender, household income and area of residence are also have significantly different. this study reveals that most students satisfied with the lecturer’s teaching delivery through online platform. This item scores the highest score mean among other items. Most students recommend reducing workload and providing longer assessment times to improve motivation in an e-Learning environment. By giving light on the perspective of diploma students, the findings of this study add to current studies on students' perspectives and preferences for e-Learning education
