The nature of the free market imposed certain mechanisms in the form of mandatory requirements. Among these mechanisms, an important place is occupied by the so-called New Approach (New approach) to determine the essential technical requirements for products and the Global Approach (Global approach) to determine compliance. This paper attempts to answer the following questions: What happens to the product when it passes into the phase of exploitation? How long can a process owner count on the projected level of acceptable risk, as well as on the validity of the CE declaration of conformity?The remaining risk is considered to be the risk that accompanies the product after compliance with the current directives of the New Approach and harmonized standards. The issue of residual risk requires an analytical approach to the dominant processes that demand specific engineering knowledge of risk management. The overall aim is to highlight the character of engineering, which corresponds to the concept of integrated safety needs of processes and contributes to preserving employee health.

The actual role of prion protein-induced glial activation and subsequent cytokine secretion during prion diseases is still incompletely understood. The overall aim of this study is to assess the effect of an anti-inflammatory treatment with dexamethasone on different cytokines released by neuroglial cells that are potentially related to neuroinflammation in natural scrapie. This study emphasizes the complex interactions existent among several pleiotropic neuromodulator peptides and provides a global approach to clarify neuroinflammatory processes in prion diseases. Additionally, an impairment of communication between microglial and astroglial populations mediated by cytokines, mainly IL-1, is suggested. The main novelty of this study is that it is the first one assessing in situ neuroinflammatory activity in relation to chronic anti-inflammatory therapy, gaining relevance because it is based on a natural model. The cytokine profile data would suggest the activation of some neurotoxicity-associated route. Consequently, targeting such a pathway might be a new approach to modify the damaging effects of neuroinflammation.

Die prozess- und kostenorientierte Auslegung der Mehrmaschinenbedienung soll mithilfe eines neuen analytischen Modellansatzes die Ressourcennutzung effizienter gestalten. Dabei steht die Integration von Mitarbeiterqualifikation und Maschinenpriorität im Fokus. Durch die später geplante Implementierung des neu entwickelten Ansatzes in das Softwaretool SmartPlanner der CAPPcore GmbH gelingt es, die Planung und Optimierung von Produktionssystemen zu verbessern.   A new approach for process and cost-related designing of multiplemachine operation is developed to optimize the resource input. Skills of employees and priority of machines have to be considered in the analytical model. The new analytical approach of multiple machine operation will be integrated in the software tool Smart Planner of the enterprise CAPPcore GmbH later on to improve the planning and optimization of the production system as a whole.

This chapter discusses how politicians have been deceived by faith-based, ideologically predetermined anti-planning arguments from free-market think tanks such as Policy Exchange. While ministers were fixating on the planning system as a barrier to house building, they neglected to do the obvious thing: build houses. In time, the ‘war on planning’, a steady stream of reports supported by seminars, newspaper articles, and private lunches and dinners, began to have an impact. Planning came to be widely blamed for the country's failure to build enough homes and, more generally, for holding back economic development. The chapter then looks at four related issues that help explain why a new approach is needed: the rise and fall of council housing; the economic model of the big developers; the rise and fall of the ‘property-owning democracy’; and land values.

Abstract Cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIED) are vulnerable to radio frequency (RF) cyber-attacks. Besides, CIED communicate with medical equipment whose telemetry capabilities and IP connectivity are creating new entry points that may be used by attackers. Therefore, it remains crucial to perform a cybersecurity risk assessment of CIED and the systems they rely on to determine the gravity of threats, address the riskiest ones on a priority basis, and develop effective risk management plans. In this study, we carry out such risk assessment according to the ISO/IEC 27005 standard and the NIST SP 800-30 guide. We employed a threat-oriented analytical approach and divided the analysis into three parts, an actor-based analysis to determine the impact of the attacks, a scenario-based analysis to measure the probability of occurrence of threats, and a combined analysis to identify the riskiest attack outcomes. The results show that vulnerabilities on the RF interface of CIED represent an acceptable risk, whereas the network and Internet connectivity of the systems they rely on represent an important potential risk. Further analysis reveals that the damages of these cyber-attacks could spread further to affect manufacturers through intellectual property theft or physicians by affecting their reputation.

The main point of the new approach to security should be the development of effective security models that are adequate to the current level of development of software and hardware, as well as the possibility of flexible security management depending on the requirements, acceptable risk and resource consumption. The task of the kernel integrity control subsystem is to ensure the security of the system during its operation and detect incorrect interference of system subjects in its operation. The system integrity control subsystems are based on two main components: static and dynamic. The frequency of the kernel integrity control subsystem actuation determines the time that the system will be in the "information leak" state in the event of a violation of the system integrity. There are two approaches to determining the time interval T: the first approach is characterized by minimizing the loss of system performance due to the presence of the kernel integrity control subsystem in the system, the second approach is characterized by the fact that it provides a higher level of security in case of possible losses of system performance.

ArgumentFriedrich August von Hayek (1899–1992) is mainly known for his defense of free-market economics and liberalism. His views on science – more specifically on the methodological differences between the physical sciences on the one hand, and evolutionary biology and the social sciences on the other – are less well known. Yet in order to understand, and properly evaluate Hayek's political position, we must look at the theory of scientific method that underpins it. Hayek believed that a basic misunderstanding of the discipline of economics and the complex phenomena with which it deals produced misconceptions concerning its method and goals, which led in turn to the adoption of dangerous policies. The objective of this article is to trace the development of Hayek's views on the nature of economics as a scientific discipline and to examine his conclusions concerning the scope of economic prediction. In doing so, I will first show that Hayek's interest in the natural sciences (especially biology), as well as his interest in epistemology, were central to his thought, dating back to his formative years. I will then emphasize the important place of historical analysis in Hayek's reflections on methodology and examine the reasons for his strong criticism of positivism and socialism. Finally, in the third and fourth sections that constitute the bulk of this article, I will show how Hayek's understanding of the data and goal of the social sciences (which he distinguished from those of the physical sciences), culminated in an analogy that sought to establish economics and evolutionary biology as exemplary complex sciences. I will challenge Hayek's interpretation of this analogy through a comparison with Darwin's views inThe Origin of Species, and thus open a door to re-evaluating the theoretical foundations of Hayek's political claims.

Quality indicators (precision, durability, reliability) of the mechanical products are heavily depended on their tolerance to select reasonable. According to the technical requirements and the processing program of the product in whole or in parts, the parts and components can be allocated on a reasonably tolerance, and the balance can be found between the product's features and manufacturing costs. In this paper, Pro / E modeling tools are used to design parts and assembly. In the assembly process, assembly of components designed is analyzed and synthezed by the using of CE/TOL (tolerance analysis) module of Pro/E. we obtained the percentage contribution of each unit feature to the functional requirement. A percentage contribution can help designer to decide which tolerance is tighten or loosen. The application of the tolerance analysis approacch in a simple three-dimensional sample was also discussed in this paper. Results show that this approach makes manufacturing costs and the probability of excessive interference and accuracy reduce. The accuracy of the product is improved.

Al-Qāḍī ʻIyāḍ’s explanation of the hadith of Ummi Zara’ is considered one of the most authentic explanations and was approved by the early and later scholars. The aim of this research is to clarify the method employed by Al-Qāḍī ʻIyāḍ in the study of the noble hadith through his explanation “Bughyah al-Ra’id Lima Tadammanahu Hadith Ummi Zar’ min al-Fawa’id”. The researcher relied on the inductive approach in introducing Al-Qāḍī ʻIyāḍ and his efforts in this explanation, and the analytical approach in order to highlight Al-Qāḍī ʻIyāḍ’s innovative methodology, which distinguished this explanation from others. The research concluded that Al-Qāḍī ʻIyāḍ established the rules of a new approach in dealing with the religious text, based on comprehensiveness and integration, which explains his extraction of a huge number of jurisprudential and Arabic issues, with unique investigations and wonderful references.

This chapter identifies some of the conceptual problems in providing a stable, inclusive interpretation of anarchism. It rejects accounts of anarchism constructed on the supposed universal minimum of ‘anti-statism’, as these synthesize radically antipathetic movements, in particular free-market individualisms along with the main socialist variants of anarchist communism and syndicalism. These purportedly comprehensive versions overlook the distinctive conceptual arrangements of social and individualist anarchisms. These separate ideological forms support radically different practices and generate conflicting interpretations of ‘anti-statism’. Instead, a conceptual analytical approach is best suited to identifying stable, intersecting families of anarchism (such as Green anarchism, anarcha-feminism and post-anarchism), as this method is sensitive to the malleable and variable conception of the political agent, which is a feature of the main constellations of social anarchism.
