Decentralization and regional autonomy policies provide opportunities for development of governments and communities in the regions.  The economic and financial potential needs to be extracted and processed, so it could be a tangible output that gives an additional value to the product which lead to improving the welfare of the people in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. Regional economics can be divided into two sectors, namely basic activities and activities rather than bases. This study uses Location Quotient method to find out and analyze the basic or superior sectors in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. Based on the results of the research, Mining and Excavation sector, Government administration sector, Agricultural sector, Health and services sector, Real estate sector, Manufacturing industry and the big and retail trade sector; are those who have more than 1 local offering so they can be favored for the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in 2013-2017.

This study aims to identify and analyze the leading sectors in South Tangerang and to project the South Tangerang City Gross Domestic Product in 2017. The data used in the form of the total value added of goods and services resulting from all the economic activities of South Tangerang City and Banten Province economists based on constant prices in 2000. The analysis method uses the Location Quotient (LQ) model and Shift - Share analysis. Based on the Location Quotion (LQ) method, the base sector is nine sectors, namely (1) the Construction Sector; (2) The sector of large and retail trade, and repair of cars and motorbikes; (3) the sector of providing accommodation and drinking meals; (4) information and communication sector; (5) real estate sector; (6) company service sector; (7) educational services sector; (8) health services sector and social activities; (9) other service sectors. Overall, South Tangerang City has the most superior sector in the real-estate sector. It can be concluded that this sector has a competitive advantage and comparative advantage.

The purpose of this study is to analyze what economic sectors are potential to be used as development priorities and patterns of economic growth in the economy of Mojokerto Regency. The method used is: Location Quotient, Shift Share, and Williamson Index. From the analysis of the location quotient that falls into the category of the base sector are Agriculture, Clean Water & Water Sector, Building Sector, Transportation & Communication Sector, Financial Sector, Corporate Leasing & Services, and Services Sector. And the results of the shift share analysis show that the sectors with the fastest growth are the agricultural sector, mining & quarrying sector, manufacturing industry sector, and the trade sector, and the services sector. While the results from Williamson study show that the sub-districts that have the highest level of inequality are in Mojosari sub-district, Pungging subdistrict, and Kemlagi sub-district

The aims of the study is to find out the leading sectors in increasing economic growth in the province of east nusa tenggara. This study uses secondary data in the form of PDRB data for the 2014-2018 period obtained through literature books, readings related to the problem under study. Sources of data were obtained from government agencies such as the East Nusa Tenggara Province Central Statistics Agency (BPS), as well as related agencies. The result in this study. 1.     Based on the results of the Klassen Typology analysis, the sector which is included in the advanced sector and growing rapidly or the leading sector is the sector Mandatory Government Administration, Defense and Social Security. Meanwhile, sectors that are included in the advanced but depressed sector are the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries sector, the Construction sector, the Transportation and Warehousing sector, the Information and Communication sector, the Education Services sector, the Health Services sector and Social Activities and the Other Services sector. Sectors classified as potential or still developing sectors are mining and quarrying sector, processing industry sector, electricity and gas supply sector, wholesale and retail trade: car and motorcycle repair and accommodation and food and drink provision sector. Meanwhile, sectors that are relatively lagging behind are the water supply sector, waste management, waste and recycling, the financial services and insurance sector, the real estate sector and the corporate services sector.

Testing the Application of Location Quotient (LQ) and Shift Share in Measuring Economic Growth in South Sulawesi Province for the 2013-2017 Period. Based on the fluctuating conditions of labor changes and the contribution of GDP to the structure of the economy in the provinces of South Sulawesi and Indonesia. The main problem in this study is; What is the economic growth of South Sulawesi province based on the shift share approach for the 2013-2017 period, what is the economic growth of South Sulawesi province based on the LQ approach for the 2013-2017 period, the results of the calculation of GRDP 2013-2017 that have been made can be concluded as follows; There are 8 (eight) sectors which are the base sectors including the first sector of agriculture, both water supply, waste management, waste and recycling, third construction, fourth information and communication, fifth real estate, sixth government administration, defense and social security, seven services Education, eight health services and social activities there are four sectors that have the advantage of the first, namely the agricultural sector, the second processing industry, the third construction sector, the fourth large and retail trade, car and motorcycle repair

This study aims to analyze the forming of GRDP sectors in Kebumen, and determine which sectors are priorities to be developed in order to encourage economic growth Kebumen. The research uses descriptive analytical method, the data used are secondary data in the form of time series of GDP Kebumen and Central Java Province with the observation year 2005 to 2009. The analysis used is the analysis of LQ (Location Quotient), shift share, Typology Klassen, Model Growth Ratio (MRP), and Overlay. Results Analysis of Location Quotient (LQ) shows the basic sector in Kebumen is Mining and Quarrying sector, Agricultural sector, services sector and financial sector, Rental and Service, no visible shift of economic structure, where the primary sector is still a focus for regional income, Overlay analysis produced 5 seed sector, the Mining and Quarrying Sector, Agricultural Sector, Industry Sector, Finance, Ownership, and Corporate Services and Services, Klassen Typology analysis showed that the Mining and Quarrying sector and the services sector is a sector advanced and rapidly growing sector, Agriculture and Financial sectors, Renting and Business Services is an advanced but depressed sector, Manufacturing sector is a potential sectors / could still be developed, the analysis of the leading sectors that need to be developed namely Services sector. Based on the analysis in this study, several suggestions can be presented as follows: Kebumen district must give priority to the services sector with a competitive advantage as well as specialization without having to neglect other sectors. Need to develop co-operation of Agriculture, Industry and Services are intensive and sustainable.

This study is conducted in 2008, is one part of the Spatial Planning of CentralHalmahera years 2009-2019. The analytical method used is the shift share and the location quotient. The data analyzed is the Gross Regional Domestic Product from Central Halmahera regency and North Maluku province. Shift share analysis results show that the economy of Central Halmahera grows faster that of the province of North Maluku. However economic growth was shifted from mining and quarrying sector to the agricultural sector. While the leading sector in Central Halmahera regency as still in the mining and quarrying sector, agricultural sector, and commerce and services sector.

Mempawah Regency Government has a mission to improving the economy that oriented to the community. The goal is to develop the economy through food security (agriculture commodity crops, horticulture, livestock, fisheries and biodiversity) and reinforced by forests management and plantations to improve the welfare of farmers. Mempawah regency is one of the regencys that the economic life of the people still depend on agribusiness system, particularly the agricultural sector. Based on the (Gross Regional Domestic Product) GRDP value of Mempawah Regencys years 2008 to 2012 the agricultural sector, especially the food crops subsector has the highest contribution to Mempawah Regency’s GRDP compared to other subsectors. The goal of this study is to analyze which subsector that became the basis of agricultural sector in the Mempawah Regency and the leading commodity of food crops and horticulture. This study uses three analysis tools i.e Dynamic Location Quotient Analysis to analyze what is the basis of the agricultural sector in the Mempawah Regency. Shift-Share Analysis and Growth Ratio Model Analysis to analyze any commodity which is the leading commodities of food crops and horticulture. The results from this study is, subsectors which are the basis of the agricultural sector in the Mempawah Regency is the food crops, forestry, and fishery subsector. The leading commodity in the Mempawah Regency of food crops are rice, the leading commodities of vegetables are cucumbers and kangkung, and the leading commodity of fruits are bananas.Keywords : Basis, Leading Sector, Food Crops Subsector and Horticulture

The objective of this study was to identify how the patterns of economic growth was, to know what sector which was able to develop in an effort to determine development priorities, and analyze where the leading region as a center of economic growth on Regency/ city level in in East Kalimantan. While the supreme sector at regency/ city in East Kalimantan, based on the calculation of Location quotient (LQ) are supreme agricultural sector in the regency of Malinau, superior mining & quarrying sector in East Kutai regency, superior processing industry sector in Bontang City, the superior electricity sector, gas & water supply in the city of Tarakan, superior construction sector in the city of Balikpapan, trade, hotels & restaurants sector in the City of Tarakan, supreme transport & communications sector in Samarinda, the supreme financial, rental & services  company sector in Samarinda City, and superior services sector in Samarinda. The leading areas as growth center on regency/ city level in East Kalimantan were Balikpapan and Tarakan City.
