Hypertension (HTN) is one of the most common diseases and a risk factor leading to disabling and fatal complications. Large-scale epidemiological studies in all countries convincingly prove the need for early prevention and treatment of this pathological condition. In conditions of rapid urbanization, it is necessary to look for individual measures for the prevention and treatment. In addition to the main risk factors for HTN, such as low physical activity and increased body weight, smoking, alcohol abuse, as well as sex and age, there is convincing evidence that the level of education, economic status, professional affiliation, living conditions are also potential predictors of HTN. The review presents an analysis of the main socio-economic risk factors for HTN and the mechanisms of their influence on blood pressure. The article discusses each factor, its impact on blood pressure and the body as a whole, as well as approaches for the identification of these factors.

The use of Antiretroviral drugs in treating HIV/ AIDS patients has enormously increased their life spans with serious disadvantages. The virus infection still remains a public health problem worldwide with no cure and vaccine for the viral agent until now. The use of nanoparticles (NPs) for the treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS is an emerging technology of the 21st century. NPs are solid and colloid particles with 10 nm to <1000 nm size range; although, less than 200 nm is the recommended size for nanomedical usage. There are NPs with therapeutic capabilities such as liposomes, micelles, dendrimers and nanocapsules. The particle enters the body mainly via oral intake, direct injection and inhalation. It has been proven to have potentials of advancing the prevention and treatment of the viral agent. Certain NPs have been shown to have selftherapeutic activity for the virus in vitro. Strategies that are novel are emerging which can be used to improve nanotechnology, such as genetic treatment and immunotherapy. In this review, nanoparticles, the types and its characteristics in drug delivery were discussed. The light was furthermore shed on its implications in the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS.

The article presents data from the Russian and foreign literature of the properties of melatonin, its role in the vital activity of the body and the regulation of circadian rhythms. The features of using the drug in desynchronosis, the optimal dosage and time of administration, as well as the possibility of its use in combination with non-pharmacological treatment methods are discussed. These methods include dosed light exposure and exercise. Additionally, new studies are considered, indicating the beneficial effect of melatonin and its agonists on the immune, cardiovascular, endocrine and nervous systems. Based on the collected data, it is asserted that melatonin can significantly accelerate the process of adaptation to a new time zone without the development of side effects. Therefore, this drug is the most effective and safe treatment for desynchronosis. It is also important to note that the study of the multifaceted effects of melatonin on body functions opens up great prospects in the treatment of many diseases.

In the process of life of the body continuously consumed nutrients that perform plastic and energy functions. The source of nutrients is a variety of foods, consisting of a complex of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, which in the process of digestion are converted into digestible substances. Collagen is the basis of connective tissue and binds the cells in the tissues, creates the frame of the whole body. The gastrointestinal tract, as a system of organs, is no exception and is designed process and extract nutrients from food. Most organs consist of connective tissue, accounting for 60–90% of their mass, which confirms its importance and the role of collagen in this regard can not be estimated. Collagen functions in the body are diverse, one of the main - part in digestion, the violation of which is the cause of diseases such as gastritis and ulcers. For the prevention and treatment of such diseases are very useful liquid collagen-containing food in the form of functional drinks. Developed and obtained in the experimental laboratory a variety of drinks on a collagen basis, with the use of additional broth with sea buckthorn pulp, tincture of dried chicory root powder and broth with the flesh of Jerusalem artichoke. An invaluable contribution to the therapeutic and preventive actions of all these components is proved not only scientifically, but also time-tested.

Reproduction is one of the basic requirement of any species to continue it's existence in universe. Stage wise procedure are included in human reproduction leading to formation of new individual. In this finely calculated series of events any deviation can lead to drastic pathological condition. The preconceptional care in Ayurveda was described centuries back to get deceased free and good progeny by following the regimen and ritual. The reaserchers show that each seminal ejaculation in intercourse depletes the body energy of sperm for 1 month before conception was planned. The aim of Aharaniyama before conception was to evaluate the qualities of sperm and ovum. Thus, to get a Shreyashipraja, this study is to explore Ayurveda measures. Aims and Objects:- To collect the literary resources regarding preconceptional care in Ayurveda. Discussion: Ayurveda texts have included and deeply discussed about preconcrptional care fir good progeny and all those points are discussed further.  Conclusion: A person with healthy body and healthy mind would also give birth to a healthy progeny. Ayurveda preconception measure helps to achieve the goal of preparing couple for a new life and to contribute towards healthy society.

The use of plants to prevent and treat illnesses has been known since time immemorial. Blackseed has been used in different civilizations around the world for centuries. The curative properties of blackseed were mentioned in the Bible and further elaborated on by Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) as “Hold on to the use of blackseed, as it has a remedy for every illness except death”. Extensive research conducted over the past century into the phytochemistry of blackseed has identified many active ingredients and confirmed its pharmacological action in the treatment of a vast range of illness conditions across the different systems of the body, including the prevention and treatment of cancer, and optimum functioning of the immune system. Furthermore, the Tibb philosophical principles highlight the ability of the body’s inherent self-healing capacity, known as Physis, and the intricate functioning of the human body, based on the temperamental and humoral theory. This paper emphasizes the importance of Physis, and its role in the maintenance and restoration of health with the regular intake of blackseed, highlighting why blackseed can be a cure for all illnesses except death. Keywords: Blackseed, phytochemistry, pharmacological action, Tibb philosophical principles.

Vascular calcification is an independent predictor of cardiovascular disease, and therefore, inhibition or regression of this processes is of clinical importance. The standard care regarding prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease at this moment mainly depends on drug therapy. In animal and preclinical studies, various forms of cardiovascular drug therapy seem to have a positive effect on vascular calcification. In particular, calcium channel blockers and inhibitors of the renin–angiotensin–aldosteron system slowed down arterial calcification in experimental animals. In humans, the results of trials with these drugs are far less pronounced and often contradictory. There is limited evidence that the development of new atherosclerotic lesions may be retarded in patients with coronary artery disease, but existing lesions can hardly be influenced. Although statin therapy has a proven role in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, it is associated with both regression and acceleration of the vascular calcification process. Recently, nutritional supplements have been recognized as a potential tool to reduce calcification. This is particularly true for vitamin K, which acts as an inhibitor of vascular calcification. In addition to vitamin K, other dietary supplements may also modulate vascular function. In this narrative review, we discuss the current state of knowledge regarding the pharmacological and nutritional possibilities to prevent the development and progression of vascular calcification.

The aim of the study was to analyse the body composition among women after radical mastectomy. The body compositions of 30 women after radical mastectomy (study group) were compared with those of 30 healthy females (control group). The method of electrical bioimpedance was used to analyse body composition. The significant differences between the groups, unfavourable for women, following mastectomy concerned body mass (p = 0.021), BMI (p = 0.049), fat mass (%) (p = 0.007), fat mass (kg) (p = 0.005), total body water (%) (p = 0.002), left upper limb fat mass (p = 0.013) as well as right upper limb fat mass (p = 0.022). The body composition of women after radical mastectomy was significantly worse compared to the control group. The majority of subjects were overweight and had high levels of body fat. Abnormal body composition is a modifiable risk factor of breast cancer; therefore, improving lifestyle is important in the prevention and treatment of this disease. There is a need for education, dietary supervision and physical activity in women following radical mastectomy. The innovation of our study was the use of the modern bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) method, which does not cause ionisation and is a gold standard in the field of body composition analysis. In future research, we plan to broaden the assessment of lifestyle and the significance of diet and physical activity in the prevention and treatment of breast cancer.

Since the introduction of hemodialysis procedure several attempts have been made to elucidate the material tissue interaction in order to evaluate the behaviour of immunosystem cellular and humoral responses to the material of patients on renal replacement therapy. Biochemical and sierological parameters have been considered as method for assessment of the best compatible dialysis. Nevertheless blood tests don't probably reflect the most important symptoms of clinical relevance. Thus we have applied bioelectrical impedance to assess the whole procedure/patient system. Resistance (R) changes during hemodialysis resulted strictly inversely correlated to the body weight variations during HD session (R < 0.96). Reactance (Xc) has also shown a progressive increase associated with an increment of phase angle, while Xc during clinical events such as hypotension, vomiting or cramps showed some transient falls. Also nutritional status and clinical well-being manifested a close relationship with bioelectrical parameters. It is therefore our feeling that BIA monitoring will provide a feasible tool to assess dialysis adequacy, of which biocompatibility represent a crucial aspect.
