Myocardial infarction (MI), commonly known as a heart attack is the disease of the blood vessels supplying the heart muscle (Myocardium) i.e. coronary heart disease. The area of heart muscle that has either zero flow or so little flow that it cannot sustain cardiac muscle function is said to be infracted and the overall process is called a myocardial infarction. MI are of two types; transmural and subendocardial. Mainly it is caused due to oxidative stress and atherosclerosis.Chest pain is the most common symptom of acute MI and is often described as a sensation of tightness, pressure, or squeezing. Other symptoms include diaphoresis (an excessive form of sweating), Shortness of breath (dyspnea), weakness, light-headedness, nausea, vomiting, and palpitations. The most common symptoms of MI in women include dyspnea, weakness, and fatigue, sleep disturbances. It can be treated by using  blockers, diuretics, ACE inhibitors, calcium channel blockers and nitrates.

The term aseptic meningitis encompasses all types of inflammations of the brain meninges other than that caused by pus producing organisms. It is usually a mild illness. Etiology of aseptic meningitis is very wide and includes many infections - both viral and non viral, drugs, malignancy and systemic illness. The most common cause is viral infection and enteroviruses - Coxsackie and ECHO viruses account for more than half of all cases. Clinical manifestations include headache, fever, malaise, photophobia and meningeal signs. Convulsions, neurological deficits and severe obtundation are rare except with certain non viral infectious meningitis. Diagnostic work up includes blood and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) examination and serology for infectious meningitis. The polymerase chain reaction is a rapid and accurate method for detection of microbial DNA in CSF. Treatment is mainly supportive, except for the nonviral infectious etiology.

Ayurveda is old science which deals with many surgical and parasurgical procedures for the management of different pathological conditions. Amongst the many unique modalities Raktamokshan (bloodletting) is one of the important modality which provides health benefits in many diseases. Acharya Sushruta described importance of this procedure in conditions involving vitiation of Rakta and Dosha. Vitiation of Rakta is responsible for many health issues including skin problems and Raktamokshan helps greatly in this regard. Leech therapy, venesection and cupping therapy are subtype of Raktamokshan which helps in blood purification. The bloodletting therapies gaining attention of modern science due to their technical advancement. Raktamokshana mainly involves various techniques of blood liberation. Raktamokshan helps to treat conditions like eczema, swellings, inflammations and poisoning, etc.

Fatty liver disease is a most common liver disease affecting a wide range of population worldwide. It is caused due to excessive fat accumulation in liver cells resulting in inflammation in liver. There are various symptoms such as confusion, fatigue, weakness etc. Over-eating is the major lifestyle factor causing fatty liver disease. Alcoholic intake results in alcoholic fatty liver disease Ajirna (indigestion), Sthaulya (obesity) and Prameha (diabetes mellitus) which occurs due to the vitiation of Annavaha, Rasavaha and Medovaha Srotas acts as Nidanarthakara Rogas (diseases which cause another diseases) which may result in the manifestation of non-alcoholic fatty liver. According to Ayurvedic texts, Panchkarma (Virechana) and herbs like Bhumiamalaki and Guduchi etc. acts a hepatoprotective and improves the functioning of liver.

Abhishyanda is considered as Sarvagata Netraroga which is a dreadful disease and possess symptoms of conjunctivitis as per the modern science. The inflammation of conjunctiva mainly occurs in Abhishyanda which can spread through Rakta. Abhishyanda if not cured then it can causes Adhimanth associated with acute pain. The other complication may includes Sandhigat roga, Shuklagat roga, Krishnagat roga and Vartmagat roga, etc. Abhishyanda is put as disease amongst the seventeen Sarvagat rogas. Ayurveda classics mentioned various types of Abhishyanda including Vataja Abhishyanda, Pittaja Abhishyanda, Kaphaja Abhishyanda and Raktaja Abhishyanda. The disease involves Kledana in Doshas and Dhatu due to which profuse discharge comes out from the eye. Therefore excessive discharge from eye is the major feature of Abhishyanda. Ayurveda described different approaches such as Anjana, Pariseka, Pralepa, Aschyotana, Tarpana, Sweda and Putpaka for the management of various Netraroga. Some ayurveda formulations and herbs also offers relieves in the symptoms of Abhishyanda.

Ayurveda put health of women on prime focus and gives detailed description on Stree Roga and their management through Ayurveda approaches. The common gynecological problems are Yonidaha, Yonikandu, Yoni paicchilya, Yoni strava, Yoni karkashata, Vamini and Upapluta yonivyapad, etc. The disturbed pattern of menstruation also causes many gynecological problems associated with female health. Ayurveda explains many ways for curing gynecological disorders especially Yoni Roga requiring local therapeutic measures, Sthanik Chikitsa is one of them which offers therapeutic relieves in various Stree Roga. Yoni-Pichu, Yoni Dhoopan, Yonidhawan, Yoni-Lepana, Uttarbasti, Yoni-Varti and Agnikarma, etc. are common approaches of Sthanik Chikitsa which are useful in many gynecological problems. These all approaches of Ayurveda help to maintain good health status of women and relives symptoms of white discharge, itching, burning micturation, foul smell and discharge, etc. These non-surgical and less invasive techniques offers health benefits to retain reproductive health of female and does not imparts severe side effects. Present article explains role of Sthanic Chikitsa in various Stree Roga.

COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) is a condition caused by abnormalities in the inflammatory responses of the lungs to irritable particles or gases. This is an irreversible condition that progresses in later years.Diabetes patients have an increased risk of developing abnormal lung functioning and also in conditions of COPD it even worsens the condition, up to 1.6-16% of the COPD population were affected due to diabetes mellitus.Many studies also suggest that the lungs are a target organ in diabetes and glycemic exposure may be a causation factor for reduced lung function. Systemic inflammation, hypoxemia, oxidative stress, altered gas exchange, and changes in lung tissues were the major impacts on the respiratory system which were induced by hypoglycemia. In this study, we aimed to assess the lung functioning in COPD patients with diabetes by performing the pulmonary functions test like spirometry by obtaining the values of FVC, FEV1, FEV/FVC, and PEF thereby analyzing the level of lung dysfunction that has been done. Patients were includes of both genders and were divided into two groups depending on their disease group 1 includes COPD and group 2 includes COPD with DM considering twenty members in each group. Our study results show that diabetes worsens the lung functioning in COPD than it already is, it may also cause respiratory collapse if untreated.

Ayurveda is holistic science that works for healthy, wealthy and happy life. The wisdom of Ayurveda based on various theories and principles. The concept of “Samanya Vishesh Siddhanta” is one such basic principle of Ayurveda which helps to treat diseases. Samanya means similarity and Vishesh means dissimilarity, using this concept of similarity and dissimilarity many diseases can be cured effectively. Disease mainly arises due to the disturbance in equilibrium of Dosha, Dhatu, Mala and Agni, etc. The balance of these biological entities can be established using Dravyas possessing similar and dissimilar attributes. The specific Gunas and Karmas of Dravyas play key role in the concept of Samanya Vishesh Siddhanta. Samanya Vishesh Siddhant based on the qualities of substances which either increases or decrease quality and quantity of Dravya, Guna and Karma. Therefore specific Dravya (food and medicines, etc.), Guna (small, large, hot, cold and dry, etc. properties of Dravya) and Karma (exercise, mediation, Yoga, swimming, sleeping and massage, etc.) helps to treat various diseases and maintain equilibrium of Dosha, Dhatu, Mala and Agni.

Ayurveda as science of life and spiritualism provides many ways of healthy living and focused towards the prevention and treatment of diseases. The observation, supervision and practical understating contributed towards the built up of principles of Ayurveda. Ayurveda presented several concepts related to the physiological functioning and anatomy of body, Marma is one such aspect of Ayurveda considered as resuscitative and penetrable area of the body. These Marma points are presents all over the body including neck, head, trunk & extremities. Marmas points in body mainly built up by groups of muscles, ligaments, vessels, tendons and bones, etc. Marma points are related with Tridosha, Bhutatma and Triguna therefore any injury and trauma to the Marma can lead painful manifestations which may be lethal sometimes. Generally 107 Marma’s described in various Ayurveda literatures which are responsible for many clinical events. The knowledge of Marma points can be utilizes for diagnostic, clinical and therapeutic purposes.

The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the halt of proper dental care in most of the world, except for emergency cases. And, this resulted in a lot of people seek some home remedies for relieve in dental pain. So, this article aims to list down herbal home remedies which can be very helpful in such conditions. The use of medicinal herbs for dental pain can be traced back to history in some form or the other in almost every country. These herbal home remedies have no significant side effects as compared to other chemical-based alternatives, are also easy to obtain and cheaper as well. Clove, Olive, Miswak, Babool and other herbs listed in the article have significant dental properties which have been validated scientifically through various researches. These plant products can be hence used in commercial products as well but only after proper clinical trials. Further research should be encouraged in this field as herbal alternatives can be very beneficial with no such side effects. However, these home remedies are only useful for symptomatic treatment and undergoing proper dental care is advised.
