The subject of the article is to define the current state of the information system, to describe the use of technology in practice and to understand the principle and benefits of smart logistics. To describe the operation of RFID technology and systems that are necessary for the effective operation of a comprehensive automatic identification system. The issue is to define the current state of information technology and create a project for automatic identification. The aim of the smart logistics project is the overall improvement of the production process, registration of parts and the overall highlighting of the company's reputation. Automatic identification systems are nowadays one of the fastest growing areas, whether information logistics or logistics as such. Manufacturing companies are trying to apply more and more elements of these systems to their production processes. Slovak companies, which have their production process based on international orders, are increasingly trying to optimize their production and thus approach Western countries in the field of automatic identification and registration of parts.

AbstractThe effect of logistics has increased steadily in recent years. In regard to the concept of logistics, it is not only referred to as transportation of goods from place A to place B, as many people believe. Logistics covers a wide range of enterprise (supply chain) processes. It is a whole value-creation chain including not only material flows, but also energy, human resources and valuable information. The objective of this research study is to find issues and risks in the current state of supply, inventory management and warehousing process in the given enterprise. In the study, proposals to streamline the current state in terms of inventory management identification system in particular manufacturing enterprise, which is the primary purpose of the submitted paper, are outlined. The specific result is to develop the proposal to increase efficiency and reduce risk regarding the current situation of inventory management identification system applying suitable techniques of the multi-criteria analysis, in particular by the TOPSIS method and by the WSA method.

Production is the most important and major activity of a production system. It may relate to goods used in various industries, as well as in agriculture or horticulture. The aim of this article is to analyse a selected production process and to propose several technical and organisational changes within the process of producing cucumbers in greenhouses in the form of a conceptual design. The scope of the article includes analysis and presentation of the current state of the selected production system, presentation of the modification project, as well as the possible impact of the proposed changes on the process under analysis. The subject of analysis herein is the greenhouse equipment, the production process organisation, technical facilities, production quality system functioning, proposition of changes and their effect on production. The analysis and modifications involved the production of cucumbers in greenhouses and their further preparation for sales, i.e. planting, harvesting, loading, segregating, weighing, packing and greenhouse liquidation. The article presents technical and organisational changes related with: the company’s technological facilities, space organisation in the production hall, recordkeeping of hours worked, as well as the number of employees. The aforementioned modifications will effect in inter alia: reduced working time, elimination of redundant stoppages and modernisation of technological facilities.

The book under review is a compilation of the author's articles and lectures that highlight the prominent developments in the literature on the subject of Islamic banking and inform the reader of the current state of debate on it. One of the earliest and main contributors to this topic is the author himself. The focus of this review will mainly be on "Economics of Profit-Sharing", which is the title of the fourth chapter of the book and is among his latest contributions. This chapter is a significant contribution as it is the first attempt to formalise the concept of profit sharing into an analytical model and, therefore, demands closer scrutiny. However, in the remaining chapters of the book, the author has drawn attention to some of the fine points made in the literature on this topic. Since some of these points appear to be controversial to me, I will briefly discuss them before moving on to the analytical chapter of the book.

Abstract The ship safety domain plays a significant role in collision risk assessment. However, few studies take the practical considerations of implementing this method in the vicinity of bridge-waters into account. Therefore, historical automatic identification system data is utilised to construct and analyse ship domains considering ship–ship and ship–bridge collisions. A method for determining the closest boundary is proposed, and the boundary of the ship domain is fitted by the least squares method. The ship domains near bridge-waters are constructed as ellipse models, the characteristics of which are discussed. Novel fuzzy quaternion ship domain models are established respectively for inland ships and bridge piers, which would assist in the construction of a risk quantification model and the calculation of a grid ship collision index. A case study is carried out on the multi-bridge waterway of the Yangtze River in Wuhan, China. The results show that the size of the ship domain is highly correlated with the ship's speed and length, and analysis of collision risk can reflect the real situation near bridge-waters, which is helpful to demonstrate the application of the ship domain in quantifying the collision risk and to characterise the collision risk distribution near bridge-waters.
