In linguistics, there are traditions coming from W. von Humboldt, to consider language not just as a system of signs or an instrument of cognition, but also as a spiritual entity. The article shows the importance of metaphysical teaching about language for revealing indepth knowledge about the world and man. The purpose of the article is to explore the deep and irrational aspects of the language that are almost inaccessible for rational comprehension, but they play a huge role in the formation of the spirituality of both an individual and the spiritual code of a nation. As a result, we were able to identify the fundamental deep connection of language with religion and metaphysics.

Greece, one of the oldest civilizations of the world, fundamentally contributed to the establishment and evolution of medicine and surgery. Undoubtedly, the foundations of the orthopaedic science are dated back to antiquity. The journey of the orthopaedic art was inaugurated with the poems of Homer and incarcerated through the practices of Hippocrates and Galen. Their deep knowledge of the musculoskeletal conditions and their treatment was generously bequeathed to humanity. This heritage acted as the catalyst for the establishment of orthopaedics in the modern Greek era. In this article, we tried to illustrate the evolution of the orthopaedic art in Greece from antiquity to modern times, reviewing the available evidence from scientific articles, books, historical manuscripts, old newspapers, and biographies. We summarize the most important events, and we identify the pioneers that shaped this new surgical branch, creating the modern Greek orthopaedic discipline.

Since the 1990s, a number of plurilingual writers have published works with a heightened consciousness of incorporating different languages in the Japanese text, in the original and/or in translation, resulting in a gradual transformation of the literary topography.  This paper will focus on the works by Hideo Levy (b. 1950), On Yūjū (b. 1980), and Yokoyama Yūta (b. 1981). These writers share a deep knowledge of and concern for the East Asian cultural sphere, especially the literature and culture in various Chinese societies. Using different writing and notational strategies, they resist the traditional method of “blending Japanese and Chinese” (wakan yūgō) and immerse themselves in the creative space in between Japanese and Chinese languages and cultures (including dialects and minority cultures), in search of a new language to document a plurilingual self and the world. Their experimentations in writing contributes to the emergence of literature in Japanese (Nihongo bungaku) as a body of work born of a language of hybridity and deeply engaged with plurilingual notations in its creation, written in Japanese by authors who are not necessarily Japanese nationals. With reference to Theodore Adorno’s theory of the “nonorganic nature” of language, Katō Shūichi’s celebration of the culture of hybridity, and Charles Ferguson’s idea of diglossia, this paper examines the potential and limitations of these writing experiments and the changing literary topography they engendered.

Man is a social animal, and thus live in society with family, friends and other human beings. To live in this world, one needs to live with certain rules, principles, and good behaviour, so as to form a best system of life, “dharma” was established. India being a land of yoga for thousands of years, pratice of yoga is been carried out by thousands of sages, in which they have achieved the supreme power. By self experiences these sages (yogis) gave the world plenty of literature, like Vedas, Upanishads, Yoga Sutra etc. These scriptures came from the sages penance, deep knowledge and self experiences. So these all Indian Scriptures are very valuable, with the essence of truth. Sage Patanjali in yoga sutra, classifies yoga into eight steps and at the end of which highest aim of human life, is attained which is, of achieving divine body, and dissolving one’s self into the ultimate supreme divine energy. From the eight steps of yoga, the first two steps are very important, which are yamas and niyamas, without which no one can move a step ahead. Yamas and niyamas play a very important role in yoga seeker’s life, as well as for all human beings. There are five golden rules in eachyamas and niyamas. Five yamas are non-violence, truthfulness, non-stealing, celibacy and nonpossessiveness. And the five niyamas are purity, contentment, self-study, worship of god and austerity. Yamas play necessary role in social religion, as they are the principles to follow with all human beings. Celibacy is of prime importance in socialreligion, as it is avery strong code for yogi to reach ultimat goal of divine body. Yama are moral restraints and niyamas are moral observnces. So both these play a strong role for all human beings.Sanatan Dharma mentions about four parts of life, in which first is Bramcharyashram, Gruhasthashram, Vanprasthashram and Sanyastashram. At first place comes Bramcharyashram, in which comes celibate students. So this is a great arrangment, which builds up character, There is no means equal to celibacy.

There is debate about the ratio of doctrine to skills in undergraduate law programmes arising from a purported lack of practice-ready capability. This article looks at this discussion relative to an assumed objective of universities, which is to develop graduates with a rounded understanding of the world, and with skills for objective fact-finding and analysis. Rather than the two dimensions of doctrine and skill, this article employs a framework of four dimensions: basic and deep skills, and basic and deep knowledge. It is used to assess a four-year law programme taught largely through case method against that assumed objective of universities. It concludes that two substantive elements were not addressed sufficiently: policy skills (as an element of deep skills) and deep knowledge. The importance of those elements is described and recommendations are offered for how to incorporate them with minimal impact on the teaching of legal skills and doctrine.

The article is devoted to the monuments of modern Old Believers’ culture – hand-drawn wall sheets with large text fragments created by the Old Believers of the Chapel Concord living on the Yenisei. These sheets are both a continuation of the Old Russian and Old Believer traditions and a form of modern propaganda art. In this article, the works of the Old Believers of the 20th century are considered in the context of their historical origins. Statement of the problem. Since the Old Believers’ culture as a whole is characterized by deep knowledge of the previous book culture and traditionalism of thinking, for comprehensive assessment of the painted sheets as a cultural phenomenon, it seems necessary to establish to what extent the creators of these monuments, which have an ultramodern form, were guided by tradition. The purpose of the article is to identify the literary and pictorial sources of the painted sheets of the Yenisei chapels and to characterize the features of their use. Review of scientific literature. The monuments were recently put into scientific circulation by a group of scientists who conducted archaeografical expeditions in Yenisei Siberia. The published works by A.A. Prigarin, E.V. Bykova, A.V. Kostrov, and A.A. Storozhenko are mainly devoted to the problem of visualization of images and characteristics of the environment for these sheets. Methodology. Classical historical, philological and comparative methods are used in the work. The results of the study. Specific sources of such sheets as “Two Roads – Two Ways”, “Ship of Faith” (“Ship of the Cross”), “World Wide Web. The World Wide Net” revealed the exact textual and pictorial quotations used by their creators from various editions of the facial Apocalypse, and the Life of Basil the New. In addition, the tradition is shown, within the framework of which the sheet “The inner state of the human heart during a righteous and sinful life” was created. Conclusion. A detailed analysis of the hand-drawn pictures that exist among modern Yenisei Old Believers of the Chapel Concord, shows that with all their modern content and form, they continue and creatively develop the age-old Old Believers’ tradition, which is based on a high book culture and religious thinking. Deep knowledge of this tradition is precisely confirmed by a variety of not only textual, but also pictorial quotations from the Apocalypse and other authoritative eschatological writings.

This chapter focuses on Jacob of Edessa's treatises. Jacob of Edessa was perhaps the most learned Miaphysite in the world in his day, with a deep knowledge of the Christian tradition in both Greek and Syriac. Apparently, some people in Jacob's day held to the view that merely having correct belief was sufficient to make one a Christian; this was a view that Jacob strongly rejected. Being a Christian demanded both proper belief and proper action. For Jacob, Christianity was that by which “we are distinguished and different from all the pagan nations and the Jews, those who are in error and wicked and without law.” To deny the canons, therefore, was to surrender nothing less than one's Christian identity. As such, Jacob took these rules of the Church with utmost seriousness and left behind a sizeable body of material relating to their proper observation.

AbstractIn Theory and Practice Kant challenges the well-worn view that practitioners do not need to rely on theory. He acknowledges that experts with a deep knowledge of theory may fail as practitioners both in technical matters, and in matters of morality and justice. However, since action-guiding theories are intended to shape rather than to fit the world, practitioners have no point of reference other than the theories or principles that they seek to enact. If theories of duty appear to offer too little guidance for action, they should look for more rather than fewer principles, which will enable them to guide their practical judgement with greater, if still incomplete, specificity.

AbstractA pragmatist philosophy of psychological science offers to the direct replication debate concrete recommendations and novel benefits that are not discussed in Zwaan et al. This philosophy guides our work as field experimentalists interested in behavioral measurement. Furthermore, all psychologists can relate to its ultimate aim set out by William James: to study mental processes that provide explanations for why people behave as they do in the world.
