Purpose: Several tests have been proposed as injury predictor inventories in various sports; however, it is important to recognize which test is more appropriate to predict the injuries of a particular sport. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the relationship between selected functional tests and lower limb injuries in elite male wushu athletes. Methods: In total, 40 wushu player were recruited from the national league (Mean±SD age: 25.1±4.9 y, weight: 67.3±7.7 kg, height: 175.3±4.7 cm). Functional Movement Screening (FMS), Tuck jump, single and double leg squats, Star Excursion Balance Test (SEBT), and Stork balance tests were performed in this research. All of the study variables were measured before the national competition, and after the competition, the rate of the injuries were assessed. The correlation between them was evaluated, subsequently. Descriptive data were used to describe the collected results. Besides, multivariate linear regression analysis was used to explore the relationship between the study variables. Results: Multivariate linear regression analysis data suggested that LESS, stroke balance test, single-leg squat, and SEBT failed to predict lower extremities injuries; however, Tuck jump, FMS, and double leg squat could predict lower extremities injuries. Conclusion: Based on the collected results, among the studied tests, trainers and researchers are suggested to employ the Tuck jump, FMS, and double leg squat tests to predict injuries in wushu male players; this test can also be used to prevent injuries in players.

A budget is an organizational plan stated in a monetary unit and drawn up for a period of time. The process of budgeting can trigger the behavior of budget implementers to conduct budgetary slack due to negative subjective attitudes and norms owned by budget executives. This makes research on the factors that affect the budgeting slack important to be carried out. This study used data collection techniques with questionnaires. All research instruments are valid and reliable. This research has also been freed from the problem of classical assumptions. The results were tested with multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed self-efficacy, budget participation, information asymmetry, and budgetary emphasis influenced the budgetary slack. On the other side emotional stability has no significant effect on the budgetary slack. Keywords: Self-efficacy; Budget Participation; Information Asymmetry; Emotional stability; Budgetary Emphasis; Budgetary Slack.

Findings on burnout and depression in athletes highlight their potential severity. Although both constructs are discussed in similar, stress-based concepts, it is unclear how they relate to each other. To address this issue, we conducted a crosssectional multiple linear regression analysis (MLR; N = 194) and a longitudinal analysis of a three-wave cross-lagged panel (CLP; n = 92) in German junior elite athletes. MLR showed that depression and burnout were both associated with chronic stress. Stress was a significant better predictor for both burnout and depression than each was for the other. CLP analysis on the constructs of burnout and depression revealed support for cross-paths in both directions. Thus, burnout and depression might cause each other to some degree, with no distinct direction of this link. However, as both syndromes do not fully explain each other, interchanging both terms and syndromes should be avoided. Preferably, future research might consider the transfer of knowledge between both syndromes to draw founded conclusions.

Abstract Background Carotid intima-media thickness (IMT) and pulse wave velocity (PWV) are useful markers for predicting cardiovascular disease not only in patients with cardiovascular disease but also in the general population. On the other hand, liver disease due to obesity has become a problem and has been reported to be associated with the progression of atherosclerosis. Recently, an indicator of liver stiffness, the Fibrosis-4 index (Fib4 index), has been used to detect the pre-stage liver diseases. However, there is no report to investigate the association between atherosclerotic parameters such as IMT and PWV, and Fib4 index. The Fib4 index is a simple index calculated from age and three blood sample data, and it will be useful for screening for an early stage of atherosclerosis if we can show the association between Fib4 index and these parameters. Purpose To investigate the association between atherosclerotic parameters such as IMT or PWV and Fib4 index Methods We recruited 3, 128 men participants who underwent health checkup. IMT was evaluated by carotid ultrasonography, and branchial-ankle PWV (baPWV) was measured by an automatic device. We analysed the association of IMT or baPWV with Fib4 index and atherosclerotic risk factors such as age, systolic blood pressure (SBP), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and fasting blood sugar (FBS). baPWV ≥1,600 cm/s was defined high baPWV and we performed the receiver operating characteristics (ROC) analysis to demonstrate the significance of Fib4 index for baPWV. Results Mean Fib4 index was 1.39±0.68. In the univariate linear regression analysis, all factors such as age, SBP, LDL-C, FBS, Fib4 index were significantly associated with IMT or baPWV. On the other hand, in the multivariate linear regression analysis, Fib4 index was an independent factor for baPWV but not for IMT (IMT, p=0.498; baPWV, p=0.023). Figure 1 showed the result of ROC analysis to predict the high baPWV by Fib4 index. The area under curve (AUC) was 0.73, with the highest discriminating sensitivity and specificity at 0.71 and 0.65, respectively at Fib4 index = 1.27. Conclusions Fib4 index was significantly related to baPWV and could be the useful screening marker for arterial stiffness in a general men population. Figure 1.
