Drawing on data from two projects where artists used their artistic competence as organizational change facilitators, we argue for a theoretical coupling of the discourse(s) of design thinking to research streams within art-and-management. The artistic dimension of design, the practice perspective and the artistic process should be considered if we are to understand the full potential of design thinking for companies. This paper describes two artistic intervention projects that highlight valuable ways artists can contribute to organizational innovation and change.  We begin with the theoretical frame of reference and a short methodological statement, followed by the empirical material.  In the analysis section we point to ways in which such interventions are similar to ones led by designers when we consider the designer’s process as individualized and contextualized.  Finally, we draw conclusions.

In the conclusion, I come back on key issues of my analysis of Ālāol’s poetics. Whereas performance and the absence of theoretical frame recorded in treatises on grammar or poetics are defining features of the vernacular tradition, we witness attempts to describe and systematize vernacular poetics in eastern South Asia. Sanskrit played a major role in this attempt at systematizing vernacular poetics to foster connoisseurship. The domain of reference of vernacular poets was not poetics per se or rhetoric, but lyrical arts and musicology. But efforts to describe vernacular poetics also display an awareness of the importance of heteroglossia and fluidity in vernacular aesthetics in contrast with Sanskrit. The opening up of the Sanskrit episteme constituted by vernacular poetics also made possible the recourse to literary models and quasi-experimental uses of vernacular poetic idioms. Old Maithili, Avadhi, and Persian were visible components of the making of vernacular poetics in Bengal.

The appropriate form, regularity, and intensity of exercise for individuals recovering from eating disorders is not agreed upon among health care professionals or researchers. When exercise is permitted, it is that which is mindful, embodied, and non-competitive that is considered normative. Using Canguilhem’s concepts of “the normal and the pathological” as a theoretical frame, we examine the gendered assumptions that shape medical understandings of “healthy” and “dysfunctional” exercise in the context of recovery. The data set for this article comes from longitudinal semi-structured interviews with 19 women in the United Kingdom who engaged in weightlifting during their eating disorder recovery. We argue that women in recovery navigate multiple and conflicting value systems regarding exercise. Faced with aspects of exercise that are pathologized within the eating disorder literature (such as structure/routine, body transformations, and affect regulation), women re-inscribe positive value to these experiences, thus establishing exercise practices that serve them.

An inverse source problem in the modified Helmholtz equation is considered. We give a Tikhonov-type regularization method and set up a theoretical frame to analyze the convergence of such method. A priori and a posteriori choice rules to find the regularization parameter are given. Numerical tests are presented to illustrate the effectiveness and stability of our proposed method.

AbstractIt is well known that when it comes to perception in the De anima, Aristotle uses affection-related vocabulary with extreme caution. This has given rise to a debate between interpreters who hold that in Aristotle’s account, the act of sense-perception nevertheless involves the physiological alteration of the sense organ (Richard Sorabji), and those think, with Myles Burnyeat, that for Aristotle, perception does not involve any material process, so that an Aristotelian physics of sense-perception is a “physics of forms alone”. The present article suggests that the dematerialisation of Aristotle’s theory of perception, which has a long story from Alexander of Aphrodisias to Brentano, may be in fact traced back to Theophrastus’ exegesis of Aristotle’s relevant passages in the De anima in his Physics, as we can reconstruct it on the basis of Priscian’s Metaphrasis in Theophrastum and Simplicius’ commentary of Aristotle’s De Anima. The reconstruction also provides a scholastic-theoretical frame to Theophrastus’ critical exposition of ancient theories about sense perception in his De sensibus, whether or not the discussion originally belonged to Theophrastus’ Physics.

The following article has as an objective to reflect on the importance of the category subjectivity, in the theoretical and methodological point of view, for Community Psychology. The intervention in Community Psychology cannot miss the subjective dimension of reality while it is part of the psychological field. In this sense, Social-Historical Psychology, the materialistic historical dialectic method and the subjectivity theory offer important contributions for the analysis of reality and transforming community intervention. The category subjectivity presents an alternative to the idealistic and dualistic visions of subjectivity. Its main features are presented in the article. In conclusion, this project tries to demonstrate how the method and the category subjectivity can offer a theoretical frame to the practice in Community Psychology through the consideration of practical experiences with community groups.

This essay reviews two theoretical books on neoliberalism written by Mexican cultural critics: Capitalismo gore (Gore Capitalism), by Sayak Valencia, published originally in Spanish in 2010 and translated into English in 2018, and La tiranía del sentido común ( The Tyranny of Common Sense) by Irmgard Emmelhainz, published in Spanish in 2016 and yet to be translated into English. These works are pioneering in their discussion of the correlation between neoliberalism, subjectivity, and culture in Mexico, and they have become widely influential in broader discussions of art, visual culture, literature, and cultural production. They add to the work of economic and political historians, such as Fernando Escalante Gonzalbo and María Eugenia Romero Sotelo, by connecting landmark moments in neoliberalization (from the financialization of the global economy in the 1970s to the War on Drugs in the 2000s) to changing paradigms in art. Author Ignacio M. Sánchez Prado contextualizes both books within larger discussions of Mexican cultural neoliberalism and describes the theoretical frame works through which both authors read Mexican politics, art, and popular culture. In Valencia's case, Sánchez Prado discusses her idea of “gore capitalism”: a framework for understanding how neoliberalism relies on dynamics of the shadow economy and on the subjectification of gore (what Valencia calls endriago subjectivity) to function at the social and artistic levels. In the case of Emmelhainz, Sánchez Prado engages with the author's idea of semiocapitalism, a term borrowed from theorist Franco “Bifo” Berardi, which Emmelhainz deploys to account for the interrelation between culture and capital in the era of neoliberalism. As such, Sánchez Prado argues, Emmelhainz and Valencia provide ways of reading artistic and visual production, including museum curatorship and narcocultura, in ways that show their organic relationship to neoliberal economic and political reforms.   The target of this study is to shed a light on how the educational life was manages in the Islamic state. The researcher used the analytical descriptive approach and the inductive one. The study introduction includes the terminology and components of the Islamic Educational system. The theoretical frame of the study focuses on the principals, targets, I mention and characteristics of the Islamic Educational system. The main question of the study problem centers around "How was educational system managed during Islamic State Era?" The results of the study reveal the peculiarity of each period had in managing educational life, during Islamic State era, that helped in establishing unique Islamic civilization. Based on the results of the study, recommendations and suggestions were introduced to benefit from Islamic Educational system and activate its concepts in today's Muslims reality.

Em seguida reflete sobre as experiências do turismo cultural do Museu de Favela, com destaque para o processo de criação do hotsite Museu de Favela Tour como dispositivo que faz circular o capital cultural comunitário. Todas essas noções associam-se aos pressupostos teóricos da cultura material, como um campo da antropologia que estuda as correlações entre objetos e inventários socioculturais e avança para o estudo da sub-linha da pesquisa da antropologia digital, onde as relações entre sujeitos sociais e tecnologias são imaginadas como reelaborações da sociabilidade que precedem a essa tradição e se predispõem a revelar as contradições sociais já dispostas na cultura.Social narratives about slum in Rio:the cultural-tourism in favela museum and digital activismAbstract This article aims to analyse favelas in Rio and also the media records about this issue, arguing that the Favela-tour concept can be seen as paradoxal process. Then will be debated Favela Museum’s cultural tourism heritage, highlighting the process of creating the Favela Museum Tour’s hotsite as a way of spread the favela’s legacy. All these notions are associated with the theoretical frame of material culture as a field of anthropology and links between socio-cultural objects and inventories. This research is called digital anthropology where the relationship between social and technology subject are imagined as re-workings of sociability that precedes this tradition, where the digital technologies are predisposed to share the social-cultural contradictions.
