In the paper, the mathematical model for determination of the region boundary of biaxial elastic states of orthotropic materials is synthesized and the system of nonlinear algebraic equations for identification of its parameters is obtained. Using the continuous method of solution continuation concerning the best parameter and the Runge-Kutta method, the demarcation curves of absolutely elastic and non-elastic deformation regions for pine trees are depicted. The analysis of the obtained curves is carried out and on its base, it is shown that the proposed model makes possible to determine and substantiate the ultimate stress states of materials whose the asymmetry coefficients of the boundaries of proportionality in some anisotropy directions are greater, and in others less than one.

In this paper, the unknown parameters of the photovoltaic (PV) module are determined using Genetic Algorithm (GA) method. This algorithm based on minimizing the absolute difference between the maximum power obtained from module datasheet and the maximum power obtained from the mathematical model of the PV module, at different operating conditions. This method does not need to initial values, so these parameters of the PV module are easily obtained with high accuracy. To validate the proposed method, the results obtained from it are compared with the experimental results obtained from the PV module datasheet for different operating conditions. The results obtained from the proposed model are found to be very close compared to the results given in the datasheet of the PV module.

This article aims to introduce an efficient simulation to obtain the solution for a dynamical–biological system, which is called the Lotka–Volterra system, involving predator–prey equations. The finite element method (FEM) is employed to solve this problem. This technique is based mainly upon the appropriate conversion of the proposed model to a system of algebraic equations. The resulting system is then constructed as a constrained optimization problem and optimized in order to get the unknown coefficients and, consequently, the solution itself. We call this combination of the two well-known methods the finite element optimization method (FEOM). We compare the obtained results with the solutions obtained by using the fourth-order Runge–Kutta method (RK4 method). The residual error function is evaluated, which supports the efficiency and the accuracy of the presented procedure. From the given results, we can say that the presented procedure provides an easy and efficient tool to investigate the solution for such models as those investigated in this paper.

The nature of the flow distribution in the hydraulic system of the near-bit jet pump has been analyzed. The peculiarities of searching the pumping station operating point have been shown and the equation for determining hydraulic losses in the elements of the ejection system has been given. Based on experimental studies, an error in the theoretical determination of the relative pressure of a jet pump has been established when using a known and advanced model of its working process. In contrast to the known method, the proposed model provides for the determination of the hydraulic resistance of the chisel flushing system, which is located in the area of mixed flow at the cost of working, not mixed flow. Improving the mathematical model of the ejection system allows to reduce the error of theoretical determination of the relative pressure of the jet pump.

In any economy there is a need for the bulky goods transportation which cannot be divided into smaller parts. Such cargoes include building structures, elements of industrial equipment, tracked or wheeled construction and agricultural machinery, heavy armored military vehicles. In any case, tractor-semitrailer should provide fast delivery of goods with minimal fuel consumption. In order to guarantee the goods delivery, tractor-semitrailers must be able to overcome the existing roads broken grade and be capable to tow a semi-trailer in off-road conditions. These properties are especially important for military equipment transportation. The important factor that determines a tractor-semitrailer mobility is its gradeability. The purpose of this work is to improve a tractor-semitrailer mobility with tractor units manufactured at PJSC “AutoKrAZ” by increasing the tractor-semitrailer gradeability. The customer requirements for a new tractor are determined by the maximizing the grade to 18°. The analysis of the characteristics of modern tractor-semitrailers for heavy haulage has shown that the highest rate of this grade is 16.7°. The factors determining the limiting gradeability value were analyzed, based on the tractor-semitrailer with a KrAZ-6510TE tractor and a semi-trailer with a full weight of 80 t. It has been developed a mathematical model to investigate the tractor and semi-trailer axles vertical reactions distribution on the tractor-semitrailer friction performances. The mathematical model has allowed to calculate the gradeability value that the tractor-semitrailer can overcome in case of wheels and road surface friction value and the tractive force magnitude from the engine. The mathematical model adequacy was confirmed by comparing the calculations results with the data of factory tests. The analysis showed that on a dry road the KrAZ-6510TE tractor with a 80 t gross weight semitrailer is capable to climb a gradient of 14,35 ° with its coupling mass full use condition. The engine's maximum torque allows the tractor-semitrailer to overcome a gradient of 10.45° It has been determined the ways to improve the design of the KrAZ-6510TE tractor to increase its gradeability. Keywords: tractor, tractor-semitrailer vehicle mobility, tractor-semitrailer vehicle gradeability.

The paper presents the system of predicting the indicators of accreditation of technical universities based on J. Forrester mechanism of system dynamics. According to analysis of cause-and-effect relationships between selected variables of the system (indicators of accreditation of the university) there was built the oriented graph. The complex of mathematical models developed to control the quality of training engineers in Russian higher educational institutions is based on this graph. The article presents an algorithm for constructing a model using one of the simulated variables as an example. The model is a system of non-linear differential equations, the modelling characteristics of the educational process being determined according to the solution of this system. The proposed algorithm for calculating these indicators is based on the system dynamics model and the regression model. The mathematical model is constructed on the basis of the model of system dynamics, which is further tested for compliance with real data using the regression model. The regression model is built on the available statistical data accumulated during the period of the university's work. The proposed approach is aimed at solving complex problems of managing the educational process in universities. The structure of the proposed model repeats the structure of cause-effect relationships in the system, and also provides the person responsible for managing quality control with the ability to quickly and adequately assess the performance of the system.

In this paper, mathematical model of nonlinear vibration problems with fluid flows through pipelines have been developed. Using the Bubnov–Galerkin method for the boundary conditions, the resulting nonlinear integro-differential equations with partial derivatives are reduced to solving systems of nonlinear ordinary integro-differential equations with both constant and variable coefficients as functions of time.A system of algebraic equations is obtained according to numerical method for the unknowns. The influence of the singularity of heredity kernels on the vibrations of structures possessing viscoelastic properties is numerically investigated. It was found that the determination of the effect of viscoelastic properties of the construction material on vibrations of the pipeline with a flowing liquid requires applying weakly singular hereditary kernels with an Abel type singularity.

Abstract In this paper, a new empirical path loss model based on frequency, distance, and volumetric occupancy rate is generated at the 3.5 and 4.2 GHz in the scope of 5G frequency bands. This study aims to determine the effect of the volumetric occupancy rate on path loss depending on the foliage density of the trees in the pine forest area. Using 4.2 GHz and the effect of the volumetric occupancy rate contributes to the literature in terms of novelty. Both the reference measurements to generate a model and verification measurements to verify the proposed models are conducted in three different regions of the forest area with double ridged horn antennas. These regions of the artificial forest area consist of regularly sorted and identical pine trees. Root mean square error (RMSE) and R-squared values are calculated to evaluate the performance of the proposed model. For 3.5 and 4.2 GHz, while the RMSEs are 3.983 and 3.883, the values of R-squared are 0.967 and 0.963, respectively. Additionally, the results are compared with four path loss models which are commonly used in the forest area. The proposed one has the best performance among the other models with values 3.98 and 3.88 dB for 3.5 and 4.2 GHz.

Anchor dragging is a major threat to the structural integrity of submarine pipelines. A mathematical model in which the mechanical model of chain and the bearing model of anchor were coupled together. Based on the associated flow rule, an incremental procedure was proposed to solve the spatial state of anchor until it reaches the ultimate embedding depth. With an indirect measurement method for the anchor trajectory, a model test system was established. The mathematical model was validated against some model tests, and the effects of two parameters were studied. It was found that both the ultimate embedding depth of a dragging anchor and the distance it takes to reach the ultimate depth increase with the shank-fluke pivot angle, but decrease as the undrained shear strength of clay increases. The proposed model is supposed to be useful for the embedding depth calculation and guiding the design of the pipeline burial depth.
