Introdução: O Magnet Recognition Program é um programa de acreditação organizado pela American Nurses Credentialing Center que objetiva reconhecer organizações de saúde que alcançaram excelência nos serviços de enfermagem através de práticas assistenciais de qualidade desde 1990. Objetivo: Descrever os impactos da acreditação Magnet Recognition Program nas instituições de saúde, no cuidado dos pacientes e na equipe de enfermagem. Métodos: Estudo de revisão narrativa da literatura com uso dos descritores gestão em saúde, gestão de qualidade, avaliação institucional e serviços de enfermagem, por meio da biblioteca SciELO e das bases de dados eletrônicas LILACS e MEDLINE, totalizando nove artigos analisados, fichados e constituíram a revisão deste estudo. Resultados: Verifica-se que, após a implantação do Magnet Recognition Program, instituições de saúde apresentam melhores resultados de cuidado, de ambiente de trabalho, de uso de registros médicos eletrônicos e de recomendações pelos usuários. Conclusão: O Magnet Program Recognition apresenta melhores resultados para pacientes, profissionais e instituições, reconhecendo e fortalecendo a força de trabalho da enfermagem no cuidado e na gestão hospitalar.Palavras-chave: Gestão em Saúde; Gestão da Qualidade; Gestor de Saúde; Avaliação Institucional; Serviços de enfermagem Impacts of Magnet Recognition Accreditation on nursing services: a narrative reviewABSTRACTIntroduction: The Magnet Recognition Program is an accreditation program organized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center that aims to recognize healthcare organizations that have achieved excellence in nursing services through quality care practices since 1990. Objective: To describe the impacts of Magnet Recognition Program accreditation on health institutions, patient care and nursing staff. Methods: Study of narrative literature review using the descriptors health management, quality management, institutional evaluation and nursing services, through the SciELO library and the electronic databases LILACS and MEDLINE, totaling nine articles analyzed, completed and constituted. the review of this study. Results: It is found that after the implementation of the Magnet Recognition Program, health institutions have better results of care, work environment, use of electronic medical records and recommendations by users. Conclusion: The Magnet Program Recognition presents better results for patients, professionals and institutions, recognizing and strengthening the nursing workforce in hospital care and management.Keywords: Health Management; Quality Management; Health Manager; Institutional Evaluation; Nursing Services.

In Hungary healthcare finance has decreased in proportion with the GDP, while the health status of the population is still ranks among the worst in the European Union. Since healthcare finance is not expected to increase, the number of practicing doctors per capita is continuously decreasing. In the coming years it is an important question that in this situation what methods can be used to prevent further deterioration of the health status of the Hungarian population, and within this is the role of the quality approach, and different methods of quality management. In the present and the forthcoming two articles those standpoints will be summarized which support the need for the integration of quality assurance in the everyday medical practice. In the first part the importance of quality thinking, quality management, quality assurance, necessity of quality measurement and improvement, furthermore, advantages of the quality systems will be discussed. This article evaluates and compares the financial soundness of Islamic and conventional PCBs operating in Bangladesh based on the CAMEL approach over the period 2015 to 2019. For this purpose, the authors select a sample of 17 Conventional PCBs and 6 Islamic PCBs listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange. In terms of composite CAMEL ratings, none of the banks is found to be strong or satisfactory in financial soundness in 2019. Out of 17 conventional banks, 13 of them are in a fair position i.e. having financial, operational, or compliance weakness and need more than normal supervision and regulation to address the deficiencies. Another 4 conventional banks are in a marginal position means that they are in serious financial problems and need close supervision and regulation. Ranking of conventional banks based on composite CAMEL ratings shows that Brac Bank Ltd. is in top position (Score 2.65) with Bank Asia Ltd. securing second position (score 2.7) while AB Bank Ltd., IFIC Bank Ltd, One Bank Ltd., and Mutual Trust Bank Ltd. are in the worst position with marginal status. Among 6 Islamic banks, 5 are in a fair position and only 1 in a marginal position in 2019. Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd. secures the top position (Score 2.8) with fair status and Social Islami Bank Ltd. is in the worst position with marginal status. Independent sample test is used to see whether there is any significant difference between Islamic and Conventional PCBs concerning CAMEL parameters. The study finds that except for liquidity there is no significant difference in capital adequacy, asset quality, management quality, and earnings quality. The study also reveals that there is no significant difference in the average CAMEL ratings of two types of Banking. However, on average Islamic banks have better asset quality, management quality while conventional banks have better capital adequacy, earnings, and liquidity.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to study the impact of successfully coordinating infrastructural capabilities, such as technology, and structural capabilities, such as people, on the performance of service businesses. Effective coordination of these two types of capabilities is shown to impact the implementation of quality management practices and the design of marketing strategy, both of which when utilized properly, lead to enhanced organizational performance. Design/methodology/approach The authors surveyed retail banking firms for this study to analyze empirical data on infrastructural and structural capabilities. Results were corroborated on the basis of in-depth interviews with several banking managers to provide real world verification of the findings. Findings Results indicate that both infrastructural and structural capabilities positively impact the design of marketing strategy, while only structural capabilities impact the implementation of quality management practices. Both, successfully implemented quality management ideals and a well-designed marketing strategy, are shown to enhance overall organizational performance. Research limitations/implications Research was conducted on a specific sector of the service industry, the banking sector. Also, the relatively small size of the study sample may have impacted the outcome of research applicability in some large businesses. Continuously emerging financial regulations could not be incorporated in the study. On the positive side, strong managerial feedback provides guidance toward adopting the study results, and lays the foundation for future research. Originality/value As today’s rapidly evolving society pushes people out of service encounters, replacing them with efficient and cost-saving technology, roles of both the people and the technology in an organization must be fully understood. This paper shows that, despite the exponential growth of technological innovation, both people and technology are critical to enhancing organizational performance through sound quality management practices and supportive marketing strategies.

Research background: Despite a fairly long tradition of measuring students’ assessment of the quality of obtained university education, there are still many unresolved issues in this area. The aim of the study: to theoretically substantiate the concept of a profile of graduates’ satisfaction with university educational programs including several parameters. The satisfaction profile serves as a criterion of the quality of education, at the same time reflecting students’ subjective assessment of the learning outcomes received at the university that they correlate with their expectations at the stage of admission. The concept is proposed in association with the monitoring of university graduates’ satisfaction with educational programs developed and tested as part of the research work at the Russian State Social University. Methods: graduate satisfaction is assessed using quantitative (questionnaires, the results of which are processed in SPSS) and qualitative (interviews) research methods. The proposed and tested method for the assessment of university graduates’ satisfaction with educational programs can serve as a basis for the development of university systems for monitoring graduates’ satisfaction with educational programs and education quality management and the satisfaction profile can become a universal criterion of education quality assessment not only in Russian but also in foreign universities. Results and novelty: The novelty and significance of the study results lie in the fact that the rating of educational process factors significant for graduates’ satisfaction provides information that can be used for successfully placing the direction of training in the market of educational services. Moreover, two ratings of the importance of the identified factors are constructed. The first one reflects the respondents’ direct assessment that can be used in advertising and information campaigns in the market of educational services. The second rating shows indirect assessment providing a more adequate image of the real impact of various factors on graduates’ satisfaction with educational programs; the results of this rating can be used in the intra-university quality management.

This article describes a best practice model for standardization within companies, based on a process approach to the development of company standards. Per process, a best practice is developed based on an investigation within six multinational companies and a review of literature, if any. The findings are benchmarked against experiences in three comparable fields: IT management, quality management, and knowledge management. Though the number of company standards exceeds by far the number of external standards, they have been neglected in standardization research. The authors hope that standards practitioners will benefit from their study and that it will stimulate researchers to pay more attention to this topic.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore how the COVID-19 pandemic has been managed in Brazil, especially at the Federal Administrative level, with the focus being on the implications for human rights and public health in the country. Design/methodology/approach The research is built on a qualitative design made up of a case-study and review of the literature and is based on inductive reasoning. Findings Main conclusions were that: by not making sufficient efforts to safeguard the lives of Brazilians or to strengthen public health institutions amid the pandemic, Bolsonaro’s Administration may be violating the rights to life and health, among others, by omission; it was demonstrated that the President has worked unceasingly to bulldoze anti-COVID-19 efforts, which can be better explained through the concepts of necropolitics and neoliberal authoritarianism. Research limitations/implications One of the limitations to this research is that this paper was not able to discuss more thoroughly which other human rights norms and principles (apart from the right to health, life and the duty to protect vulnerable populations) have possibly been violated amid the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. Overall, this research can help expand the literature on human rights in health management during and after emergency times. Originality/value This paper focuses on recent events and on urgent matters that need to be addressed immediately in Brazil. This study provides an innovative health policy/human rights analysis to build an academic account of the ongoing pandemic in the largest country in South America.

The current study uses CAMEL (Capital Adequacy, Asset Quality, Management Quality, Earnings Efficiency, and Liquidity) ratings system, with the addition of Shariah Compliance Ratio (CAMELS) in order to detect the financial distress of Islamic banks in Malaysia. Using neural network, the study analyses data collected from the 17 Islamic banks annual reports for the period 2006 to 2010. It was found that all Islamic banks have higher ETA ratios which portray a good performance of capital adequacy and are less likely to face financial distress. As for asset quality, all Islamic banks did not have the possibility to face financial distress as they are able to handle their non-performing loans throughout the years. Meanwhile for management quality, all Islamic banks show lower ratios in paying salaries to their employee. Earning efficiency for all Islamic banks show better performance and will be less likely to face financial distress in terms of return on assets but not for return of equity. Liquidity indicates that the Islamic banks have a large number of loans but they have sufficient liquid assets in order to cover their liabilities and commitments. Lastly for Shariah Compliance, Islamic banks have complied with all rules and regulations that have been regulated by Bank Negara Malaysias Shariah Advisory Council.
