This research aims to investigate the impact of globalization on women’s empowerment in Bangladesh. Like many other countries, Bangladesh also integrated with the rest of the world through globalization. Empirical studies on the impact of globalization on women’s empowerment in Bangladesh circumstances are rare. Many studies to date have adjudicated to review the positive and negative effects of globalization on women. The study highlights the impact of globalization on women’s empowerment in Bangladesh in three ways. Firstly, the study draws application to traverse the testimony of women's empowerment by examining the initiatives (National Women Development Policy) taken by the government to levitate the status of women in society through their participation in economic and social activities and discusses the limitations and pivotal suggestions for the policy. Secondly, the study explains the positive and negative effects of globalization on women’s lives in Bangladesh. And finally, for the quantitative analysis, the study shows different scatter plots to establish the relationship between globalization and women empowerment as the KOF Index and the GGG Index, and the SIGI Index using time series data for the period of (2007-2017).


The microcredit sector in Bangladesh has flourished over the past few years by providing financial services to poor women who were previously unreachable, and it has been successful in meeting their fundamental needs, empowering them. This paper is an attempt to find out the role of microcredit on the empowerment of women borrowers in the context of some regions of the Chattogram district. These three Upazillas were surveyed cross-sectionally. A well-structured questionnaire was used to collect data during face-to-face interviews with 50 microcredit women borrowers and 50 non-borrowers from two major microcredit providers in Bangladesh. Participants were randomly selected. Data were summarized in tabular form. As a result of the chi-square test and ANOVA, significant results were observed. The paper analyzes the role of microcredit in women's empowerment from three perspectives: psychological, social, and economic. As a result of the study, BRAC and ASA microcredit have a significant role in reducing the vulnerability of poor women in the study region by generating income, improving the living standards of borrowers, and enabling these women to become more empowered by: (a) psychological empowerment by acquiring decision-making power in household activities, (b) economic empowerment by making a contribution to living standard & control over assets, (c) social empowerment by getting freedom of voice and mobility.


The contagious virus (COVID-19) has severely affected the tourism and hospitality industry all over the world, including Bangladesh. It has affected both inbound and outbound tourism of the country. All kinds of tourism firms like hotels, motels, resorts, and transportations have been closed down. Many people have become jobless. The objective of the study includes the challenges that the tourism and hospitality industry will face after the COVID pandemic. Two-phased data collection methods are utilized to achieve their search aim. Primarily, ten variables are identified to measure post-COVID challenges to tourism based on available literature and informal qualitative interviews. Later, a questionnaire is developed for conducting a formal survey to identify post-COVID challenges. Based on empirical findings, this study has identified some post-COVID tourism challenges such as managing health security, dealing with congestions, charging higher prices for securing health safety, managing skilled employees, and arranging developed tourism management technologies. The study further finds that challenges may remain for the industry even after the pandemic. In order to mitigate the post-COVID challenges, it offers a few suggestions such as understanding the new needs of tourists after the pandemic, developing an information system for satisfying the requirements of new-normal situations, and building awareness to tourism stakeholders.


This paper aims to explore whether seaweeds from the Bay of Bengal are available for commercial biofuel production. Seaweeds provide various ecosystem services from marine ecosystems that can be utilized as food, cosmetics, fertilizers, industrial chemical, or biofuel. Other than diversified usefulness, seaweeds could be used in a running vehicle. It can be used as an alternative source of non-renewable energy along with a high potential to produce environment-friendly fuel for the next generations. Developed countries are utilizing seaweeds as essential resources of biofuel with advanced technology, machinery, and skilled manpower. From the physiography of the ocean of Bangladesh, it can be found that seaweeds have a high potential to produce biofuel from the coast and offshore areas. Among different types of seaweeds, biofuel can be produced from lipid & fatty acid, carbohydrate, or protein in them. Therefore, a sustainable SWOT analysis has been conducted to explore the availability and potential of seaweeds for biofuel production. To produce biofuel in Bangladesh due to the lack of investment, advanced technology, well-equipped machinery, and skilled manpower are still in shade. However, if investment and technical equipment are embraced for producing raw material (such as specific species of seaweeds) for the biofuel production those could be exported to the nearest market.


Bangladesh's financial industry is supported by banking institutions. Because the banking sector's existence is reliant on the quality of services it offers and the satisfaction of its clients, service quality is critical for measuring the banking sector's success. The purpose of this research is to assess the impact of service quality on customer satisfaction by examining the numerous factors that influence those outcomes. It investigates useful and objective input about a client's perceptions and expectations and then improves different aspects of the company to achieve those goals. A standardized questionnaire was utilized to obtain data from a group of 300 people. The data was analyzed and conclusions were drawn using descriptive statistics. As a result, the SERVQUAL dimensions have been used to evaluate the service quality of three private commercial banks in Rangpur. To show the distinction, EXIM Bank Ltd., Dutch Bangla Bank Ltd. (DBBL), and Mercantile Bank Limited were chosen. Customers of one bank appear to be moderately satisfied, but customers of the other two banks tend to fall short of their expectations on the SERVQUAL dimension. The empathy component was shown to be a key driver of client satisfaction for both EXIM Bank Ltd. and Mercantile Bank Limited. Dependability, tangibility, and assurance, on the other hand, were found to have a significant influence on customer satisfaction for Dutch Bangla Bank Limited.


People around the globe, especially the educated ones, have become very much concerned about their careers. University students in Bangladesh are generally treated as one of the most serious segments having the intention for selecting career paths. In this regard, several factors are having different levels of influence over the career choice decision. This study aims at identifying and ranking the factors influencing the career choice of undergraduate students of public universities in Bangladesh. The study is quantitative where the perception of 384 undergraduate students of public universities of Bangladesh has been measured to find the level of influence of multiple factors influencing their career choice. A convenience sampling technique was used to choose the respondents. This study finds several factors having a different degree of impact on the choice of career. Sixteen factors have been identified through an extensive literature review based on which students’ perception was measured using a five-point Likert scale. Out of these 16 factors, 5 factors have been found strongly influential, 6 factors have been marked as moderately influential, and the rest 5 factors have been ranked as a low influential factor as perceived by the respondents. However, no established scale was utilized to rank the factors rather it has been performed based on mean value developing a scale using the rule of thumb. After a careful analysis, the personality of the students has been identified as the most influential factor for the career choice with a mean of 4.28 and standard deviation of .962 whereas the influence of relative has been marked as the least influential factor with a mean of 2.67 and standard deviation of 1.426.


In the paper, we have revisited various locations, especially north-western India for the post offices settled in the key tourist spots/cities, as a point of interest, towards the tourism-related perspectives of India Post. The study is explorative in nature, being the first of its kind and sort. We have focused upon discussing such role of post offices on case to case basis. A purview of culture and tourism scenario is otherwise given in general. Postal Services network provides very important amenities at all the places. At many places, as indicated above, it helps in enhancing the tourism-related prospects of locality, and sometimes is a key component of tourism at a place. It has an important place in Indian heritage, culture, and tourism prospects.

Throughout history, the central role of women in society has ensured stability, progress, and long-term development. Women are the primary caretaker of children and elders in every society. In the contemporary world, women are no longer lag behind in terms of career. They are keeping themselves shoulder to shoulder with their opposite sex. In Bangladesh, a large portion of economic activities is carried out by women including household and care activities, agriculture, education, industries, banking, and service sectors. This study aims to identify the factors that affect maintaining the proper work-life balance of working women in Bangladesh during the COVID-19 pandemic. To pursue this objective, a hundred and five (105) women from different professions (Teaching, Banking, Healthcare, Ready Made Garments Industries, Public and Private Corporations, Government services, and entrepreneurs) have randomly selected from Dhaka and Chattagram division, Bangladesh. Collected data have tested with the help of various statistical tools like reliability and validity checking, multiple regression analysis, ANOVA, and hypothesis testing. The analyzed data has been presented in the form of a table. The study finds out a strong impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the work-life balance of women in Bangladesh. Covid-19 has the greatest impact on job stress, job satisfaction, and productivity of women and raises a need for flexibility, workplace support, and work-life balance policy for employees. This study suggested that every organization should have a work-life balance policy which is necessary to maintain a healthy working environment for employees who will improve productivity and job satisfaction of employees.


Today, organizations use digital applications to enhance their HR operations, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many organizations compete to improve business performance as well as having a competitive advantage in their business areas. The business strategic plans depend on business' facts and data that support these plans. HR analytics promises to provide evidence-based initiatives, data-driven decision making, prioritize the impact of HR investments and enhance the business value and performance. This study tries to gain insights into the reasons for not using HR analytics among Saudi HR professionals to enhance business performance and maintain a competitive advantage. It uses the descriptive survey research design. This paper focuses on the individual-level adoption of HR analytics by human resource professionals. The main objective of this paper is to understand the importance of HR analytics and to gain insight into the barriers that affect the full implementation of HR Analytics among Saudi HR professionals. The total population used in this study is 168 HR professionals who work in the Dairy Products Manufacturing Companies in Saudi Arabia. The primary data used in this study collected through the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) questionnaire, which was sent through the work's official email, WhatsApp, and LinkedIn to the target sample. The study finds positive relationships between HR analytics adoption and the other factors. Also, the results show the main barriers that affect the implementation of HR Analytics by Saudi HR Professionals.
