The population in Katobu District and Duruka District are always increased. BPS data shown increased from 2011 to 2018 in Katobu District as much 3.194 people and Duruka District as much as 1.205 people. This caused the requirement of settlement area also increased. The research aim was to determine the suitability between settlement land use map and actual conditions in Katobu District and Duruka District. This research type is a regional survey. Data were collected by interviews and observations. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive with percentage and scoring. The results shown the settlements map in Katobu and Duruka Districts in the S1 category 53.65%, S2 4.46%, and N1 41.89%. The suitability between settlement map in Katobu and Duruka Districts with actual conditions reached 100%. This showed that the GIS spatial analysis map results can be used in determining policies or public consumption related to the suitability of settlement locations in Katobu District and Duruka District of Muna Regency. Keywords: suitability, actual conditions, settlement mapping Jumlah penduduk di Kecamatan Katobu dan Kecamatan Duruka selalu meningkat. The paper aimed to express the cognitive and intellectual structure of research executed in the field of GIS-based land use change modeling. An exploration of the Web of Science database showed that research in GIS spatial analysis modeling for land use change began in the early 1990s and has continued since then, with a substantial growth in the 21st century. By science mapping methods, particularly co-coupling, co-citation, and citation, as well as bibliometric measures, like impact indices, this study distinguishes the most eminent authors, institutions, countries, and journals in GIS-based land use change modeling. The results showed that GIS-based analysis of land use change modeling is a multi- and interdisciplinary research topic, as reflected in the diversity of WoS research categories, the most productive journals, and the topics analyzed. The highest impact on the world sciences in the field have can be attributed to European Universities, particularly from The Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, and Great Britain. However, China and the United States published the highest number of research papers.

Pekalongan City is one of the endemic cities of filariasis with mf-rate > 1 %. One of many factors that can influence filariasis is environmental factor. The aim of this research was to figure out the spatial imaging of environmental health such as shrub existence, puddle, wastewater pipeline, and livestock existence with filariasis in Pekalongan City. The study was quantitative descriptive with descriptive survey. Data were analyzed with spatial analysis using GIS in 6 filariasis-endemic subdistricts, i.e. Banyurip Ageng, Jenggot, Bandengan, Pabean, Kuripan Lor, dan Kertoharjo. The study showed that filariasis transmission was in the area with shrub and wastewater pipeline existence. Risk factor of wastewater pipeline existence was in all research places. Risk factor of livestock existence was in 3 subdistricts of Bandengan, Kertoharjo, dan Jenggot. Rice fields existence was a environmental risk factor in Kertoharjo and Banyurip Ageng.

Kendari is the capital of the Indonesian province of Southeast Sulawesi. It is located on mainly the karst hills region with high rainfall and there were numerous human activities on the karst hills. Many landslides have occurred in these areas. Natural and human factors may contribute to the landslide. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the present GIS map of landslide-prone areas was in agreement or compatible when compared to the actual site conditions in Kendari City. This research is mainly a regional survey. Data was collected through direct interview and observation at the sites. Data were analyzed quantitatively with percentages. The results showed that 87.4% of the area in Kendari City as shown in the map of landslide-prone distribution using GIS was included in the low risk or slightly vulnerable category. The category of landslide-prone areas was divided into; Very low risk, Low, Medium, High risk and Very high risk which represents the less vulnerable areas to the very vulnerable areas. The level of compatibility of landslide-prone maps in Kendari City, when compared with actual site conditions, reaches 75%. This shows that the map of the GIS spatial analysis can be used as a guide in mapping the level of landslide vulnerability in Kendari City. Landslide-prone map may be used as a guideline for engineers, designers, planners, and city officials in planning to reduce the risk of potential disaster.

With the rapid and unbalanced development of industry, a large amount of cultivated land is converted into industrial land with lower efficiency. The existing research is extensively concerned with industrial land use and industrial development in isolation, but little attention has been paid to the relationship between them. To help address this gap, the paper creates a new efficiency measure method for industrial land use combining Subvector Data Envelope Analysis (DEA) with spatial analysis approach. The proposed model has been verified by using the industrial land use data of 30 Chinese provinces from 2001 to 2013. The spatial autocorrelation relationship between industrial development and industrial land use efficiency is explored. Furthermore, this paper examines the effects of industrial development on industrial land use efficiency by spatial panel data model. The results indicate that the industrial land use efficiency and the industrial development level in the provinces of eastern region are higher than those of the western region. The spatial distribution of industrial land use efficiency shows remarkable positive spatial autocorrelation. However, the level of industrial development has obvious negative spatial autocorrelation since 2009. The improvement of industrial development has a significant positive impact on the industrial land use efficiency.

There are many new land use and land cover (LULC) products emerging yet there is still a lack of in-situ data for training, validation, and change detection purposes. The LUCAS (Land Use Cover Area frame Sample) survey is one of the few authoritative in-situ field campaigns, which takes place every three years in European Union member countries. More recently, a study has considered whether citizen science and crowdsourcing could complement LUCAS survey data, e.g., through the FotoQuest Austria mobile app and crowdsourcing campaign. Although the data obtained from the campaign were promising when compared with authoritative LUCAS survey data, there were classes that were not well classified by the citizens, and the photographs submitted through the app were not always of sufficient quality. For this reason, in the latest FotoQuest Go Europe 2018 campaign, several improvements were made to the app to facilitate interaction with the citizens contributing and to improve their accuracy in LULC identification. In addition to extending the locations from Austria to Europe, a change detection component (comparing land cover in 2018 to the 2015 LUCAS photographs) was added, as well as an improved LC decision tree and a near real-time quality assurance system to provide feedback on the distance to the target location, the LULC classes chosen and the quality of the photographs. Another modification was the implementation of a monetary incentive scheme in which users received between 1 to 3 Euros for each successfully completed quest of sufficient quality. The purpose of this paper is to present these new features and to compare the results obtained by the citizens with authoritative LUCAS data from 2018 in terms of LULC and change in LC. We also compared the results between the FotoQuest campaigns in 2015 and 2018 and found a significant improvement in 2018, i.e., a much higher match of LC between FotoQuest Go Europe and LUCAS. Finally, we present the results from a user survey to discuss challenges encountered during the campaign and what further improvements could be made in the future, including better in-app navigation and offline maps, making FotoQuest a model for enabling the collection of large amounts of land cover data at a low cost.
