Abstract: This study aims to examine the factors that have the potential to influence student’s entrepreneurial intentions using the TPB theory model along with several other factors (i.e., attitude towards entrepreneurship, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, innovation, proactive personality, need for achievement, internal locus of control, risk taking propensity, lifestyle integration, social networking, resources, opportunity recognition, fungibility issues, entrepreneurial intention, and pre-start-up behavior). Data were collected through 222 entrepreneurship concentration students from well-known universities in Indonesia. The structural equation model (PLS-SEM) was applied to test the research hypotheses. The emergence of significant and positive results among all factors involved, except fungibility issues is evidence of the positive influence of the factors studied on student’s entrepreneurial intentions in Indonesia which are then briefly summarized in the form of conclusions. Keywords: Entrepreneurial intention, theory of planned behavior, pre-start-up behavior, entrepreneurship Prediksi Entrepreneurial Intention dan Pre-Start-Up Behaviour terhadap Mahasiswa Konsentrasi KewirausahaanAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji faktor-faktor yang berpotensi mempengaruhi niat berwirausaha mahasiswa dengan menggunakan model teori TPB beserta beberapa faktor lainnya (yaitu sikap berwirausaha, norma subjektif, persepsi pengendalian perilaku, inovasi, kepribadian proaktif, kebutuhan berprestasi, internal. locus of control, kecenderungan mengambil risiko, integrasi gaya hidup, jejaring sosial, sumber daya, pengenalan peluang, masalah kesepadanan, niat kewirausahaan, dan perilaku pra-start-up). Kata kunci: Niat kewirausahaan, teori perilaku terencana, perilaku-pra-start-up, kewirausahaan

This article demonstrates that the impact of role models (RMs) on students’ self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intention is moderated by their entrepreneurial experience and personality variables such as self-esteem and locus of control. 276 students enrolled in an entrepreneurship education programs (EEPs) were exposed to either a positive or a negative sensitisation message by alumni who became entrepreneurs to test its impact on the students’ self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intention. Findings indicate that students with entrepreneurial experience, high self-esteem and internal locus of control are less impacted by entrepreneurial role models. We discuss the relevance and effectiveness of role models in EEPs.

Background: Burnout is a major problem for nursing. There is a strong relationship between work stress and emotional exhaustion. Although studies report a negative correlation between the internal locus of control and emotional exhaustion and work stress, the number of studies available on the subject is limited. Purpose: This study intends to examine the extent to which the relationship between work stress and emotional exhaustion is mediated by nurses’ internal locus of control. Methods: The study adopted a cross-sectional survey design. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling techniques. The study sample consisted of 347 nurses who worked in a university hospital in Izmir, Turkey and who agreed to participate in the study. The Work-Related Strain Inventory was used to evaluate the nurses’ work stress level, Maslach Burnout Inventory was used to evaluate their emotional exhaustion levels, and the Locus of Control Scale was used to evaluate the internal locus of control. The variables of the study were based on the Neuman Systems Model. Results: Work stress was positively related to internal locus of control (β = .21, p < .001), which was, in turn, negatively associated with emotional exhaustion (β = −.03, p > 0.1). Internal locus of control was negatively related to emotional exhaustion (β = −.14, p < .001). Work stress is directly (β = .87, p < .001) and indirectly related to emotional exhaustion (mediated by internal locus of control β = .84, p < .001). Work stress is directly (β = .87, p < .001) and indirectly related to emotional exhaustion (mediated by internal locus of control, β = .84, p < .001). Conclusion: Although the relationship between emotional exhaustion and work stress was mediated, the impact of internal locus of control was limited. It is recommended that different variables be included in future studies so that they can mediate the relationship between work stress and emotional exhaustion.

This study aims to analyze the association between locus of control and job satisfaction to auditor ethical sensitivity. The association between locus of control and ethical sensitivity is based on the notion that auditors with an internal locus of control likely have a high ethical sensitivity. The association between job satisfaction has emerged from the understanding that auditors who are satisfied with their jobs tend to have keen ethical sensitivity. The population of this study is 300 government auditors at the office of Financial and Development supervisory agency (BPKP) in East Java. The sampling technique is simple random sampling, which includes a minimum number of sample of 30 auditors. The type of data is primary data gathered from distributed questionnaires. Rank Spearman correlation test is used to determine the association between the variables. This research found that locus of control is related to auditor ethical sensitivity. It implies that internal locus of control can influence the auditors' decision-making when faced with an ethical dilemma. On the other hand, job satisfaction does not associate with auditor ethical sensitivity.

Recent years have witnessed the worldwide growth of entrepreneurship education (EE) as entrepreneurship is regarded as the key driver of innovation and economic growth. Most extant studies on EE have focused on its impact on entrepreneurial intentions. However, the application of the same EE measurements for both adults and adolescents has long been criticized; the indices developed for potential adult entrepreneurs may not be suitable for young entrepreneurs, considering the large time gap before they enter the workforce. This study aims to develop appropriate indicators for the assessment of youth EE in Korea and to examine the effectiveness of youth EE. Two large-scale quasi-experimental studies were conducted with pre- and posttest matched-comparison groups for verification. This study suggests six common variables for measuring the impact of youth EE: opportunity discovery, opportunity exploitation, entrepreneurship, creativity capacity, social problem solving, and entrepreneurial intention. The analyses showed that all these indicators positively influenced youth EE. We also proposed practical suggestions for the development of EE programs.

In the current economic and social environment, a real challenge for youth is the acquisition and development of the relevant skills in entrepreneurship in order to consider entrepreneurship as a desirable employment choice. Given this aspect, the purpose of this paper is to investigate the main factors influencing students’ entrepreneurial intentions, paying particular attention to their entrepreneurial family background. Additionally, the paper aims to explore the effect of entrepreneurial family background on the relationship between effectiveness of entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial intention. We conducted a study where results were based on the outcomes of a survey among Romanian high school and university students in the final year (N = 617). Our four main hypotheses were tested through independent samples t-tests, correlation analysis, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis. The findings highlighted that the students with an entrepreneurial family background reported a higher entrepreneurial intention than those without such a background. The variables that positively influenced the entrepreneurial intentions of the students were entrepreneurial family background, effectiveness of entrepreneurship education, and entrepreneurial personality traits. Furthermore, this entrepreneurial family background negatively moderated the relationship between effectiveness of entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial intention. For this reason, emphasis should be placed on both formal and informal entrepreneurial education, which will increase the propensity of young people to choose an entrepreneurial career.
