Compulsive Online Shopping in Malaysia

The proliferation of e-commerce has induced the online shopping transactions around the world. The increase trend of online shopping illustrates that there is a dramatic increase in compulsive behavior on online shopping.  Shopping online could give an illusion to the consumers that they are not really spending money and become compulsive for many consumers. By adapting the questionnaires outlined, this study validates the compulsive online shopping scale to measure the compulsive online shopping behaviour in Malaysia context. A survey was conducted with a sample of 221 respondents based on convenience-sampling method in the Klang Valley. The factor analysis showed high reliable test of Cronbach alpha for the scales underlying the compulsive online shopping behavior.

Shopping for food is a necessity that will continue to occur before the pandemic, during a pandemic, and post-pandemic. Pandemics that occur around the world also affect human behaviour, including food shopping behaviour. This study aims to analyze shopping behaviour and changes in shopping behaviour during a pandemic. Consumers prefer to choose online shopping in pandemic situations according to safety. Data were collected by interviewing 12 respondents from the generation of baby boomers, X, Y, and Z. The data were processed using a qualitative approach using N-Vivo software. Research results showed that there were differences in food shopping behaviour during the pandemic. This research suggests that the food industry pays attention to shopping behaviour change during a pandemic to change strategies to get opportunities in the market. Novelty in this study is the first cross-generational qualitative analysis of food shopping behaviour among Indonesian consumers.

Online shopping isasasas buying products or services via the internet using a computer or mobile platform. It provides a different policy and environment to both consumers and suppliers for having business activities in a digital environment than a traditional way. Some countries are highly adopted and utilizing online shopping for their day to day operations. There are some differences among countries in consumers’ buying behavior toward online shopping, which may be the reason for comfortability and reliability about the procedure and policies of digital environments. Online shopping is one of the convenient and best solutions for the busy life of today’s world. This study aims to identify those options for why users select online shopping rather than traditional shopping. The research model explained and predicted the behavioral intention and attitude towards online shopping. The convenient sampling method was used to select the sample units, and the Snowball sampling method was used to identify online shopping users. The questionnaire consists of two main sections. The first section analyzes the demographic factors related to online shopping. The second section included TAM variables. among the participants, 35(56%) were males, and 27(44%) females. The majority of 31(50%) of the online shopping users were between 25 to 30 years, and the rest (6%) were above 40 years. As expected, the experience of online shopping almost 34% of the respondents have less than ten years. Whereas the rest differ in their online shopping experience, those who used online shopping for 1-3 years stood at 31%. Moreover, 24% of the respondents have 3-5 years’ experience. Only a few respondents have more than five years’ experience. It stood for 11%. This study revealed that users comprehensively supported online shopping behavior except for four hypotheses. Thus, it could be concluded that people prefer online shopping because of their knowledge, usefulness, and attitude towards online shopping. The relation between attitude and behavioral intention is strongly positive and significant.

The purpose of this study is to examine the direct influence of financial risk, privacy risk, and product risk on online shopping behavior. Existing study model developed on the base of theoretical background. In doing this, 280 questionnaires were examined using Smart PLS-SEM. Convenience sampling used in this study. While the bulk of prior studies discovered a negative relationship between risks and online shopping behavior, this study also indicates that negative influence on online shopping behavior. The study offers additional insights into how risks can be decreased to increase the online shopping behavior that can be used to improve the plan while online shopping behavior can be enhanced. The current study reveals some important factors that affect the online shopping behavior of consumers and if we minimize these risks then significantly enhance the ratio of profits from online channels.

This study aims to determine the effect of perceived risk, service infrastructure, acquisition utility to the online shopping behavior of students in the province of Riau and to determine differences in perceived risk, service infrastructure, acquisition utility and online shopping behavior between male students and female in Riau Province. The total sample is 250 respondents. Independent variable is perceived risk (X1), service infrastruktur (X2), acquistion utility (X3) and dependen variavle is online shopping behavior (Y). Data analysis using multiple linear regression analysis and one way ANOVA. The results showed perceived risk influence on online shopping behaviour, service infrastructure influence on online shopping behaviour, acquisition utility influence on online shopping behaviour, results of hypothesis testing using ANOVA showed that there are differences in perceived risk, service infrastructure, acquisition utility and online shopping behavior between male students and female students.

The purpose of this study examined online shopping behavior in Surabaya by using a technological philosophical point of view. The research contributes on critical thinking about human life in the era of technology, especially in online shopping. Methodology: This research approach was qualitative, with the phenomenological method from Martin Heidegger. Research informants were obtained using a key person who already knew the living conditions around the analyzed location. The data collection method used systematic interviews. Findings: The results show that the nature of online shopping behavior is a form of framing shopping as it is. Moreover, the result of this study are expected to contribute critical thinking related to human life in the world of technology.

If e-marketers know and understand the factors affecting consumer satisfaction, they can further sharpen their marketing strategies to attract and retain customers. The COVID 19 pandemic created economic havoc around the world. Along with healthcare challenges, the pandemic has also been changing consumer lifestyles. It affects business structures and service delivery too. This article draws on an investigation of the effect of consumption emotions of Turkish consumers on consumer values during the COVID 19 Pandemic. A convenience sampling method was adopted in the study and a questionnaire survey was administered to collect 390 consumer cases. The results show that the consumption emotions of Turkish consumers during the COVID 19 Pandemichad a significant positive effect on consumer values. It was found that Turkish consumers were to feel anxiety, calmness and hope more often than not during the pandemic.
