The article describes the use of BYOD technology (Bring Your Own Device) in educational practice using the Lecture Racing mobile application. This application provides feedback between the teacher and students both in the classroom and during distance learning, contributes to the visualization of educational material and, in general, the informatization of the educational process. The purpose of the study is to conduct a theoretical analysis of the current state and prospects for the development of BYOD technology in Russia and abroad, and to test the benefits of using this technology in educational practice using the specific mobile application. During the study, an analysis of scientific, theoretical and practical literature on BYOD technology was carried out. In the process of experimental work, test tasks were the instrument of measuring knowledge and skills of students. As a result of a theoretical analysis and study of the practical possibilities of using BYOD technology (using the Lecture Racing mobile application as an example), it was found that this technology allows you to visualize information that is displayed in real time on the screen of each student's mobile device, regardless of its location. This technology also allows both the student and the teacher to quickly work with information, provide feedback, receive an independent assessment (since the assessment is set automatically), saves time, and develops the information culture of students.

The author offers the brief biographical information on Rujero Sergeevich Gilyarevsky whose 90-th anniversary is celebrated. She reviews the main stages of his academic and pedagogical career, in particular, his scholarly works, his two theses studies (candidate’s and doctoral), numerous publications that have been contributing to the librarianship, library and information sciences. The author emphasizes the scope of Gilyarevsky’s professional interests and retraces expanding of the subject scope of his publications – from catalog structuring (1954) to cloud technologies, information management and scientometrics. Rujero Gilyarevsky analyzes the problems of the libraries (and e-libraries, in particular), their future, professional values of the librarians within the digital communication environment, bibliography as an element of information culture. R. Gilyarevsky has complete mastery of several foreign languages. The selected bibliography of R. Gilarevsky’s publications, including those co-authored by his colleagues, is appended.

Аннотация: В современном развивающемся обществе все больше расширяется роль и значение информации. Информация становится ключевым фактором развития человеческой цивилизации. В этих условиях важное место в структуре личности принадлежит ее информационной культуре, предполагающей владение источниками информации, способностью к ее поиску и активному использованию в жизненных процессах. В овладении молодежью информационной культуры важная роль принадлежит вузам и вузовским библиотекам. В статье показаны актуальность рассматриваемой проблемы, значение этих факторов становлении информационной культуры молодых поколений в период получения высшего образования, когда идет формирование всей культуры личности в целом. Раскрывается содержание понятия информационной культуры, кратко характеризуется современное состояние формирования информационной культуры в вузах Кыргызстана, определяется роль вузовских библиотек в воспитании информационной культуры студентов. The content of the concept of information culture is revealed, the current state of the formation of information culture in universities of Kyrgyzstan is briefly characterized, the role of university libraries in the education of students' information culture is determined. The article reveals the role of the institute of mass media on the processes of forming political consciousness and socio-political guidelines of young citizens in modern Russia. The problems of hygiene of media policy, media literacy and improving the information culture of young people remain relevant and archival, given the new challenges of world politics and the geopolitical situation. The author argues that media education technologies to increase the media literacy of young citizens contribute to the realization of their socio-political subjectivity and initiative in the interests of the state and civil society.

Analyzed are scientific researches, the authors of which substantiate the concept of intellectual potential and determine methodological foundations for the diagnosis and development of the intellectual potential of youth. The authors of the article considered the concept of “intellectual potential” from the standpoint of various methodological approaches, showing advantages of young people in formation of intellectual potential: speed of mastering new competencies, high creativity, low reproductive inhibition during the development of activities. Problems of development of intellectual potential of Russian young people are revealed. The components of intellectual potential are highlighted, among which a special place is for motivation for mastering knowledge, abilities, skills, willingness to take risks and uncertainty, information culture, etc. It is proposed to determine intellectual potential of young people, based on levels of development of its components. Requirements for educational environment for development of intellectual potential of modern youth are described as well. The conclusion is made, that intellectual potential of modern youth must be formed in a specific educational environment with specific conditions.
