Abstract. Chrysantemum much appreciated by the public for its beautiful colors and shapes, and has a longer vase life.  Quality and vase life of chrysanthemum flowers not only was influenced by post harvest conditions but also the management during plant growth. Light, temperature, relative humidity, fertilization and spacing arrangement on cultivated plant are factors that can affect the quality and vase life of flowers.  An experiment was conducted to study the variation of organic fertilizer application effect on quality and vase life of Chrysan-themum flowers with different row spacing, and to find out of organic fertilizer and row spacing which gave the best quality and vase life of Chrysanthemum flowers. Experimental design was used Split Plot Design with two factors: kinds of organic fertilizer as main plot and su plot was row spacing. Kinds of organic fertilizers consisted four levels: chicken, sheep, rabbit and cow dung, and three levels of row spacing : 10 cm x 10 cm, 15 cm x 10 cm and 20 cm x 10 cm. Those treatment combinations were repeated three times.  Result of this experiment showed that application of organic fertilizer affected for the quality of chrysanthemum flowers in row spacing variation.  Rabbit or sheep dung of organic fertilizer application  gave the best of flower stalk and diameter of flowers, flowers of grade I > 60%, and vase life more than 13 days, if  was planted with 20 cm x 10 cm row spacing.Keywords: Chrysanthemum, Kinds of organic fertilizer, Row spacing, Quality and vase lifeSari.  Krisan banyak disukai masyarakat karena keindahan bentuk dan warna serta memiliki vase life yang lebih lama.  Kualitas dan vase life bunga krisan tdak hanya dipengaruhi oleh kondisi pascapanen, tetapi juga dipengaruhi oleh management selama pertumbuhan tana-man.  Cahaya, temperatur, kelembaban, pemu-pukan dan pengaturan jarak tanam dalam teknik budidaya merupakan faktor-faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi kualitas dan vase life bunga krisan. Suatu percobaan bertujuan untuk mempelajari efek aplikasi macam pupuk organik terhadap kualitas dan vase life bunga krisan pada variasi jarak tanam dan mendapat-kan macam pupuk organik dan jarak tanam yang memberikan kualitas dan vase life bunga krisan yang terbaik. Percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terbagi dengan dua faktor perlakuan, yaitu macam pupuk organik sebagai petak utama dan jarak tanam sebagai anak petak.  Macam pupuk organik terdiri atas empat taraf : pupuk kandang ayam, sapi, domba dan kelinci yang diberikan dengan dosis 30 t ha-1 dan diaplikasikan pada saat tanam. Jarak tanam terdiri atas tiga taraf: 10 cm x 10 cm, 15 cm x 10 cm, dan 20 cm x 10 cm. Kombinasi kedua taraf factor perlakuan diulang sebanyak tiga kali. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi macam pupuk organik berpengaruh terhadap kualitas bunga dan vase life pada variasi jarak tanam. Aplikasi pupuk organik kelinci atau domba dengan penanaman berjarak 20 cm x 10 cm memberikan panjang tangkai bunga dan diameter bunga terbaik, persentase bunga kelas I  di atas  60% serta vase life lebih dari 13 hari.Kata kunci: Jarak tanam, Macam pupuk organik, Kualitas dan Vase life, Krisan

The shallots production enhancements, an improvement in cultivation techniques and organic fertilizer is needed. Biogas liquid waste is one of the organic fertilizers that can be used in plants. The benefit of biogas liquid waste is that it can improve soil properties and produce agricultural products that are safe for health. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of dose and time of bio-slurry fertilizer on the growth of red onion (Allium cepa L.). Research used a randomized block design consisting of two factors. The first factor is the time of fertilizer application which consists of four levels, namely: control, W1, W2 and W3. The second factor is the administration of bio-slurry fertilizer dose of 25 ml, 50 ml, 75 ml and 100 ml. The results showed that the application of bio-slurry fertilizer affected the growth of shallots. The treatment of D4W1 (fertilizer every week with a dose of 100 ml) showed the best results in each parameter, namely plant height, leaf number, leaf area, root length, wet weight and dry weightABSTRAKPeningkatan produksi bawang merah diperlukan adanya perbaikan teknik budidaya  dan pemberian pupuk organik. Limbah cair biogas adalah salah satu pupuk organik yang dapat digunakan pada tanaman. Manfaat limbah cair biogas adalah  dapat memperbaiki sifat-sifat tanah dan menghasilkan produk pertanian yang aman bagi kesehatan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh dosis dan waktu pemberian pupuk bio-slurry terhadap pertumbuhan bawang merah (Allium cepa L.) Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok yang terdiri dari dua faktor. Faktor pertama yaitu waktu pemberian pupuk yang terdiri dari empat taraf yaitu: kontrol, W1, W2 dan W3. Faktor kedua adalah pemberian dosis pupuk bio-slurry yaitu 25 ml, 50ml, 75 ml dan 100 ml. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk bio-slurry berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan bawang merah. Perlakuan D4W1 (pemberian pupuk setiap minggu dengan dosis 100 ml).menunjukkan hasil yang terbaik pada setiap parameter yaitu tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun, panjang akar, berat basah dan berat kering.Kata kunci: Pupuk Bio-Slurry, Bawang merah (Allium cepa L.), waktu pemberian pupuk

<p>Pemupukan merupakan salah satu aspek penting untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan kualitas buah naga. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk organik terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi buah naga. Penelitian dilaksanakan di kebun petani Nagari Aripan, Kabupaten Solok, Provinsi Sumatra Barat, dimulai sejak Januari sampai dengan Desember 2014. Penelitian disusun berdasarkan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial dengan dua faktor perlakuan dan tiga ulangan, setiap unit perlakuan terdiri atas tiga tiang. Faktor pertama adalah takaran pupuk organik dengan tiga level, yaitu 5, 10, dan 15 kg/tiang. Faktor kedua adalah interval waktu pemberian pupuk organik terdiri atas empat level, yaitu 1, 2, 3, dan 4 bulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk organik secara nyata dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan (jumlah cabang), jumlah produksi dan kualitas buah (grade/ukuran buah, TSS). Pemberian pupuk organik juga dapat meningkatkan kandungan hara pada tanah dan tanaman. Aplikasi pupuk organik dengan takaran 15 kg dan interval 1 bulan berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan (jumlah cabang), produksi, dan kualitas buah (grade/ukuran buah) tertinggi. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan produksi buah naga perlu dilakukan aplikasi pupuk organik.</p><p><strong>Keywords</strong></p><p>Pupuk organik; Pertumbuhan; Produksi; Buah naga</p><p><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p>Fertilization is one of important aspect in improving the productivity and quality of dragon fruit. This study aims to determine the effect of organic fertilizer on the growth and production of dragon fruit. The research was conducted from January to December 2014 at farmer orchard in Solok District, West Sumatra. The study was prepared based on a Factorial RCBD with two factors and three replicates, each treatment consisting of three pillars. First factor  was organic fertilizer dose with three levels (5, 10, and 15 kg/pillar).  Second factor was the interval application of organic fertilizer consisting of four levels (1, 2, 3, and 4 months). The results showed that the provision of organic fertilizer can significantly increase the growth (number of branches), amount of production and quality of fruit (grade/fruit size,TSS). Provision of organic fertilizers can also increase the nutrient content of soil and plants. Application of organic fertilizer with a dose of 15 kg and 1 month interval gives the highest growth (number of branches), the highest number of fruit production and quality (grade/fruit size) are significantly. Implication of this research is to increase the growth and production of dragon fruit that needs to be done organic fertilizer application.</p>

A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of harvest time and dosage of organic fertilizer application on the yield of carrot (Daucus carota L.). This research was conducted at the experimental garden plants owned by Faculty of Agriculture, University of Winaya Mukti, in Tanjungsari, Sumedang. The height of this location is 850 meters above sea level with type C precipitation (rather wet). This research was conducted from January 2013 to April 2013.The design used in this research was a randomized block design (RBD) with factorial pattern consisting of two treatment factors i.e. the time of harvest (W) and organic fertilizers dosage (P) which were repeated 2 times. The first factor (W) consistedof four levels i.e. (w1) = 90 HST, (w2) = 100 HST, (w3) = 110 hst, and (w4) = 120 HST. The second factor (P) consists of four levels which are (p0) = 0 tonnes haˉ¹, (p1) = 10 tons haˉ¹, (p2) = 20 tons haˉ¹,and (p3) = 30 tons haˉ¹.This  experiment showed that there is no interaction between the application of thechicken coop organic fertilizer dosage with the harvest of the crops of carrot. However, treatment given to the 20 tons haˉ¹ dose of chicken coop organic fertilizer affected the weight of fresh roots, long tubers, the diameter of the bulbs, and the levels of vitamin C. Because the required application of the fertilizer will show the weight of fresh tubers larger, long tubers longer, heavier bulb diameter, and showed an increase in levels of vitamin C.Treatment of HST 100 time harvest affected the fresh tuber weight and the content of vitamin C, because this treatment is as needed; which then will show a heavier bulb  diameter, as well as elevated levels of vitamin C.

The use of inorganic fertilizers has an important role in increasing plant growth and production. But it also causes various problems such as decreasing soil organic matter, soil acidity, soil degradation, nutrient imbalance and increasing environmental pollution. Therefore, it needs to be balanced with the provision of organic fertilizers. A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of application of various doses of inorganic and organic fertilizers on N, P, K nutrient uptake and maize plant growth. The experimental design used was a randomized block design arranged in a factorial manner consisting of two factors. The first factor is the dose of inorganic fertilizer (A): 0, 150 and 300 kg ha-1 phonska and the second factor is organic fertilizer plus (P): 0, 10, 20 tons ha-1. The two factors were combined and each treatment combination was repeated three times. The data obtained were analyzed by analysis of variance at the 5% level of significance. The results showed that there was no interaction between the application of inorganic and organic fertilizers on the growth and nutrient uptake of N, P and K. However, the application of inorganic and organic fertilizers had a significant effect on all tested agronomic traits except for plant height. Nutrient uptake of N, P and K also increased significantly due to the application of inorganic and organic fertilizers. The balance of inorganic and organic fertilizer application increases the availability of nutrients as well as the uptake of N, P, and K nutrients by maize plants.

ABSTRACTThe growth response of oil palm (Elaeis Guineensis Jacq.) seedling toward the application of organic fertilizer from palm fronds and NPK compound fertilizerThe research was aimed to study the influence between organic fertilizers from palm fronds and NPK compound fertilizer to reduce NPK compound fertilizer in main nursery. The experiment was conducted from January to April 2017 at the Experiment Station Ciparanje, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Padjadjaran. The experimental design used was Randomized Block Design that arranged in factorial patterns with two factors and three replications. The fisrt factor was dosage of organic fertilizers from palm fronds consisted of three levels of 0 g/polybag, 800 g/polybag, and 1600 g/polybag and the second factor was dosage of NPK compound fertilizer consisted of four levels of 0 g/polybag, 20 g/polybag, 40 g/polybag, and 60 g/polybag. The result of the experiment showed that there was interaction effect between organic fertilizers from palm fronds and NPK compound fertilizer on height of seedling and dry weight of the shoot. Faktor pertama meliputi dosis pupuk organik asal pelepah kelapa sawit terdiri dari tiga taraf yaitu 0 g/polybag, 800 g/polybag, dan 1600 g/polybag dan faktor kedua dosis pupuk majemuk NPK yang terdiri empat taraf yaitu 0 g/polybag, 20 g/polybag, 40 g/polybag, dan 60 g/polybag. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh interaksi pupuk organik asal pelepah kelapa sawit dengan pupuk majemuk NPK terhadap tinggi tanaman dan bobot kering tajuk. Soybean is known for its high protein content, which is the reason why it is widely used as one of the main food sources for humans and animals. In order to optimize soybean growth, farmers tend to add excessive dosage of chemical fertilizer to this crop. Furthermore, a continuous chemical fertilizer application without organic fertilizer addition may cause a rapid depletion of nutrients in the soil. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of organic fertilizer treatment to reduce the amount of urea as chemical fertilizer needed in soybean cultivation. A complete randomized design was conducted using 21 treatments of organic and chemical fertilizer in triplicate with a 4x3 m plot size. Analysis of variance was carried out to compare the means of measurement data and Duncan multiple range test (DMRT 5%) was applied. The treatment 2,000 kg ha-1 compost + 50 kg ha-1 urea (O2K2A1) resulted the highest dry yield in soybean and had significant differences with urea-only treatment. A mixture of chemical and organic fertilizers had no significant result over the yield compared to the use of chemical fertilizer only. Compost application of 1,000-2,000 kg ha-1 with urea 50-100 kg ha-1 (O2K2A1 and O 2K1A2) showed an increase in seed yield of 35-38 % with a profit reaching 333-340 USD ha-1 compared to standard treatment using urea 50 kg ha -1 + SP-36 50 kg ha-1 + 50 KCl kg ha-1 (O0K0A1).

Plant In Mountain Village Bilah Hulu Labuhan Batu, Sarah Kristi Pertiwi1, Khairul Rizal S.TP, M.Si2, Yudi Triyanto SP, M.Si3 Program Studi Agroteknologi, Fakultas Sains dan Teknologi Universitas Labuhanbatu. Long beans (Vigna sinensis L.)  are a vegetable plant as a source of vitamins and minerals. Long beans (Vigna sinensis L.)  are also a type of legume that is widely cultivated in Indonesia. Gunung Selamat Village is one of the villages with a variety of agricultural crops, one of which is long beans (Vigna sinensis L.). However, this community service was carried out because of the many problems faced by farmers, which caused the growth of long beans (Vigna sinensis L.)  to decline. The decline in production was caused, among others, by climate, soil, fertilizers, pests and diseases. Therefore, this community service is carried out to increase plant growth and reduce the use of synthetic fertilizers that can damage the soil ecosystem, therefore it is given the treatment of sprinkling liquid organic fertilizers on the soil and spraying vegetable pesticides from papaya leaves to prevent pests and diseases that attack long bean plants (Vigna sinensis L.). Plant Growth Response. AbstrakKacang Panjang (Vigna sinensis L.) merupakan salah satu tanaman sayuran sebagai sumber vitamin dan mineral. Kacang panjang (Vigna sinensis L.)  juga merupakan jenis kacang-kacangan yang banyak diusahakan di Indonesia. Desa Gunung Selamat merupakan salah satu desa dengan penghasilan tanaman palawija yang beragam salah satunya kacang panjang (Vigna sinensis L.). Namun, pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan karena banyak permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh petani sehingga menyebabkan pertumbuhan kacang panjang (Vigna sinensis L.)  menurun. Turunnya produksi ini antara lain disebabkan oleh iklim, tanah, pupuk, hama dan penyakit. Maka dari itu pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman serta mengurangi penggunaan pupuk sintetik yang dapat merusak ekosistem tanah, maka dari itu diberi perlakuan penyiraman pupuk organik cair pada tanah serta penyemprotan pestisida nabati dari daun pepaya untuk mencegah hama dan penyakit yang menyerang tanaman kacang panjang (Vigna sinensis L.). Perlakuan ini dibuat untuk melihat hasil respon tingkat pertumbuhan pada tanaman kacang panjang (Vigna sinensis L.).

The study aims to determine the productivity of pinto beans (Arachis pintoi) which is fertilized with differenttypes of organic fertilizer including its dosage. The study was conducted by using a completely randomized design(CRD) within two patterns of factors. Firstly, organic fertilizers are cow dung (S) and chicken manure (A). Secondly,dosages without fertilizer (D0), 15 tons/ha dosages (D1), 20 tons/ha dosages (D2), dosage of 25 tons/ha (D3); anddosage of 30 tons/ ha (D4) of organic fertilizers. The variables observed were plant height, number of branches,number of leaves, leaf dry weight, stem dry weight, total forage dry weight, leaf areat and leaf dry weight ratio withstem dry weight. The results showed no interaction between the type and dosage of fertilizer in which the growthand production of pinto beans (Arachis pintoi) gave the same results by fertilizing with 25-30 tons/ha dosagesof chicken manure. It can be concluded that increasing the productivity of pinto beans (Arachis pintoi) can befertilized with 25-30 tons/ha dosages of chicken manure

Andisols  are characterized  by  dominance  of  amorphous  minerals  which form strong and stable bonding with organic matter, therefore Andisols always contain high organic matter. For that reason, organic fertilizer is generally not applied  on  Andisols,  because  it  is  assumed  that  it  will  not  give   any  positive effect  on  growth  or  yield.  The  experiment  was  aimed  to  evaluate  response  of mature Kartika 1  Arabica coffee variety (seven years old) cultivated on  Andisols applied with organic matter derived from cow dung manure. The experiment was carried out at Andungsari  Experimental Station located in Bondowoso District, East  Java. Elevation of the site was 1,150 m asl., with rainfall type of C (Schmidt &  Fergusson).  The  experiment  was    arranged  according  to  completely randomized  block  design  with  four  replications  to  evaluate  effect  of  ninecombination  treatments  of  application  rates  at   application  depths  of  50,  100, and 150 cm. The  range of organic fertilizers rates were  0 - 13.5 kg/tree/year. The experiment revealed that cow dung manure applications on Arabica coffee cultivated  on  Andisols  significantly  increased  yield  at  the  average  of  33% compared  to  the  untreated  crop.  No  significant  effect  of  the  treatment  onvariables of leaf water deficit and soil moisture content during dry season and root  density.  At  range  of  application  depths  of  50  -  150  cm,  the  deeper  the organic matter applications, the higher the yield will be.Key words: Andisols, Arabica coffee, organic matter, cow dung manure

Penelitian rekayasa pupuk organik dan pengaruhnya terhadap potensi hasil tanaman jagung hibrida (Zea mays L.) telah dilakukan di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Univesitas Padjadjaran sejak Desember 2013 sampai akhir Februari 2014, bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh formula pupuk organik dan dosis terhadap potensi hasil tanaman jagung hibrida. Rancangan percobaan adalah Rancangan Acak kelompok dengan satu faktor perlakuan, yaitu formula pupuk organik A 4 t ha-1(kompos: jerami 30%, kasmur 10%, limbah buah nenas 20%, kohe sapi 20%, kohe kelinci 20%; 21 kg SP-36+ 4,5 kg KCl 60% t kompos-1). B 5 t ha- 1(kompos: jerami 40%, kasmur 10%, limbah buah nenas 10%, kohe sapi 30%, kohe kelinci 10%; 26 kg SP-36+ 5,5 kg KCl 60% t-1kompos)., C 5 t ha-1 (kompos: jerami 20%, kasmur 10%, limbah buah nenas 0%, kohe sapi 50%, kohe kelinci 20%; 30 kg SP-36+ KCl 60% 6,0 kg.). , D 4 t ha-1(kompos: jerami 20%, kasmur 10%, limbah buah nenas 10%, kohe sapi 60%, kohe kelinci  0%; 30 kg  SP-36 + 8,5 kg t-1 KCl 60%).E 5 t ha-1(kompos: jerami 50%, kasmur 0%, limbah buah nenas 0%, kohe sapi 50%, kohe kelinci 0%; 32 kg SP-36+ 7 kg KCl 60% t kompos-1), dan kontrol [K (tanpa formula pupuk organik)]. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua formula pupuk organik berpotensi meningkatkan bobot biomassa kering oven, bobot pipilan kering plot dan potensi hasil tanaman jagung per hektar. Formula E 5 t ha-1 berpotensi memberi hasil maksimum  10 t ha-1. Research about organic fertilizers formulation and its effect on maize yield potency was conducted at experimental field located in Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor Sumedang, West Java, since December 2013 until Februari 2014. The experiment was aimed to determine the effect of organic fertilizers formulas to maize yield potency, which was arranged using a randomized block design and repeated six times with six treatment factors A 4 t ha-1(compost of: straw  30%, spent muschroom substrate  10%, pineapple waste 20%, cow dung 20%, rabbit droppings 20%; 21 kg SP-36+ 4,5 kg KCl 60% t compost-1). B 5 t ha- 1(compost of: straw 40%, spent muschroom substrate  10%, pineapple waste10%, cow dung 30%, rabbit droppings 10%; 26 kg SP-36+ 5,5 kg KCl 60% t-1compost-1)., C 5 t ha-1 (compost of: straw 20%, spent muschroom substrate  10%, pineapple waste%, cow dung 50%, rabbit droppings 20%; 30 kg SP-36+ KCl 60% 6,0 kgt compost-1), D 4 t ha-1(compost of: straw 20%, kasmur 10%, pineapple waste 10%, cow dung 60%, rabbit droppings 0%; 30 kg  SP-36 + 8,5 kg t-1 KCl 60%t compost-1).E 5 t ha-1(compost of: straw 50%, spent muschroom substrate  0%, pineapple waste 0%, cow dung 50%, rabbit droppings 0%; 32 kg SP-36+ 7 kg KCl 60% t compost-1), dan control [K (withouthorganic fertilizer formula)]. The result indicated that organic fertilizer formulas increased dry matter weight, seed dry weight per plot and potential yield per hectare. Organic fertilizer formulas E5 t ha-1 potentiallygave the maximum yield of 10 t ha-1.
