This article presents the idea of strategies for improving the effectiveness of leadership training that has so far not been clearly mapped. Although the current leadership training system design is perceived to be quite effective but in its perceived implementation it has not been optimal yet to boost organizational performance to the highest level. To focus the training into effective learning requires the organization to be able to pay attention to two important elements of training, participants characteristics and organizational support. Expectations of the two elements need to be met so that the training process runs perfectly. On this basis and with reference to empirical theories and experiences, this article successfully formulates three key strategies that need to be undertaken in the pre-leadership training phase, during leadership training, and post leadership training. Keywords : Effectiveness, Leadership Training Abstrak Artikel ini menyajikan pokok pikiran terkait strategi peningkatan efektivitas pelatihan kepemimpinan yang hingga saat ini masih belum terpetakan dengan jelas. Meskipun rancangan sistem pelatihan kepemimpinan yang ada saat ini dirasakan cukup efektif namun, dalam pelaksanannya dirasakan masih belum optimal mendongkrak kinerja organisasi ke level yang tertinggi. Untuk memfokuskan pelatihan menjadi pembelajaran yang efektif, mensyaratkan organisasi untuk mampu memperhatikan dua unsur penting yaitu karakteristik peserta pelatihan dan dukungan lingkungan organisasi. Ekspektasi dan harapan dua unsur tersebut perlu dipertemukan agar proses pelatihan berjalan sempurna. Atas dasar hal tersebut dan dengan berpedoman pada teori-teori dan pengalaman empiris, artikel ini berhasil memformulasikan tiga strategi utama yang perlu dijalankan mulai di fase pra-pelatihan kepemimpinan, pada saat pelatihan kepemimpinan, dan pasca pelatihan kepemimpinan. Billions of dollars are spent annually on leadership training and development courses. Unfortunately, this training, both at organizational and university levels, does not appear to consistently result in significant adult learning or better organizational performance. These programs tend to focus on the theories of leadership within closed classroom environments and sometimes present case studies to encourage application of knowledge. The content is typically dissociated from both context and leadership experiences and a “one size fits all” approach is adopted. This approach does not account for the corporate culture that is unique to every organization, even every department. In this innovation in practice article, we present a leadership practicum course tailored for adult learners that provides an experiential approach to leadership training enhanced by expert coaching. Initial results indicate that health care professionals appreciate the ability to transfer theory to practice and the feedback they receive from expert coaches. We present the practicum course and provide two cases to explicate the process; we share initial findings from the course and end with our next steps.

The case highlights the key concerns and issues an organization may face if its performance management system (PMS) does not serve its intended purpose and how it can cause demotivation and dissatisfaction among employees and result in an overall decline in organizational performance. It also illustrates how employees’ organizational culture and perception can be as important as the system design and can present challenges even if an elaborate system is planned. In the face of increasing turmoil among employees towards management and the decreasing performance of the organization, TECHNO21 decided to change its current PMS, which seemed a difficult but necessary step to achieve the desired performance levels and overall strategic objectives of the organization.

PurposeThe study aims to scrutinize the concomitant associations between corporate social responsibility (CSR), perceived organizational support (POS), green transformational leadership (GTL) and organizational performance (OP). This paper aims to explore the role of intervening variable to measure the strength on the relationship between CSR and OP.Design/methodology/approachThis research administered a survey through self-administered questionnaire among the staff-level employees of construction companies of Nepal. Fully filled 305 responses from the participants were analyzed using a structural equation model. The study used self-structured questionnaire as research tool and face-to-face meetings as data collection technique.FindingsThe research indicates that POS showed competitive partial mediation relation between CSR and OP. Besides, a novel exploration of the moderation effect of GTL displays a supportive role in harmonizing the CSR with organizational support to achieve better OP. This study enriches empirical evidence to understand the linkage between CSR and POS in staff-level employees in the construction area. Moreover, the research shed a light on GTL 's moderating influence on the mediated model of CSR, POS and OP.Research limitations/implicationsAlthough the results of the study add to the current knowledge base, several limitations highlight avenues for future research. Future studies can explore the relationship in other study areas with added evidence on a similar result with different analysis patterns and study sample. The research model studied in the context of Nepal creating evidence as a representation for the developing countries.Originality/valueThe intervening role of POS and GTL gives new insight for the research-based organization based social behavior and performance

The article is devoted to the substantiation of the relevance of the use of modern sports in general and general physical training in particular in the training system of students. The paper considers the actual problems of improving the physical fitness of students who study at higher military educational institutions during the period of primary sports training. The possibilities of increasing the effectiveness of the training process have been investigated. The analysis of modern scientific and literary sources gives grounds to assert that the system of sports training has a significant positive effect on the general level of well-being, facilitating the learning process and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The purpose of the article is to form and implement innovative forms of sports education for students and further experimental verification of the developed program.

In the course of the research, we examined the impact of the selection and training system of a Hungarian automotive company on organizational performance, which together ensure the future development of the company. It contributes to the optimization of sales, purchasing and logistics processes, ensures customer satisfaction and the success of the company. In this fast-paced and globalized world, it is essential for companies to be aware that one of the most important factors of production is human resources themselves, whose proper selection and training are a key element in maintaining and developing economic competitiveness. Human resources play the biggest role in the operation of an economic organization. Process quality and process orientation reduce costs, increase profitability, and improve processes to always meet growing requirements. This is the basis of the quality strategy. Therefore, it consistently applies preventive quality assurance methods, learns from failures, eliminates the causes of mistakes without delays and transfers its experience to all areas of the company for preventive action. It is customer-oriented and strives for excellence in all areas, and thus makes it an obligation for everyone to aim for the highest level of customer service. Due to the special peculiarities and characteristics of the labor force, it cannot be compared to any of the production resources. Taking this as a basis, the human resource management used to be more of a functional purpose, while in recent decades human factors have become an essential source of competitiveness. The market operation and performance of an organization depends significantly on how we can select the most suitable workforce. We need to see what the strategic points that determine the role of HR are, and we are also looking for the answer in which direction the needs, expectations and professionalism given by the generational difference move the activities of human resources. The aim of the research is to get an answer to how the employees of one of the leading Hungarian players in the automotive industry perceive the importance of the selection and training of the workforce in maintaining and improving competitiveness. To this end, we used a semi-structured interview, with the help of which we evaluated the current selection and training processes in the light of competitiveness and made suggestions for the improvement and refinement of these processes.

Goal-setting is an essential tool to improve individual and organizational performance. The study about goal-setting has been done immensely in the past century. However, research on goal-setting is rarely conducted in Indonesia's Public sector, especially in Customs and Excise work environment. A survey of Indonesian Customs is carried out to examine the correlation between individual variables that are self-esteem, work locus of control, self-efficacy, supervisor's support, anticipated reward, and other organizational support with employee goal level selection. 45 merchandise goods-related document analysts and goods inspectors are included in the survey, where a small experiment is administered by asking the respondent to set their target independently. Using the Spearman correlation analysis, the result indicated that only work locus of control has a significant negative association with goal-level selection, particularly promotion and job acquisition subscales. Self-esteem and self-efficacy are found not significantly correlated with goal-level selection, and so are support from supervisors, office environment, and monetary reward.

In the last three decades, the security issues have been raised in the state of the Punjab (Pakistan) which ultimately leads to the breakdown of the country’s economy. However, the purpose of this paper is to determine the effect of the political interference on the performance of Punjab police (Pakistan) with the moderating role of organizational support. To elicit the findings, a total of 159 survey questionnaires were compiled from station house officers (SHOs) of Punjab police (Pakistan). Furthermore, this study has applied PLS-SEM technique to analyze the data. The findings reveal that a negatively significant effect of political interference on the performance of Punjab police (Pakistan). Moreover, the findings also showed the significant moderating effect of organizational support in the instance of political interference.
