The purpose of the chapter is to disseminate a comparative study developed in an institution dedicated to teacher training in the state of Veracruz, Mexico. The study led the follow-up of two teachers responsible for a course of bachelor's degree in Preschool Education called Learning Environments during a semester. Three interviews were applied to two participating teachers. Through inductive analysis, MaxQDA software was chosen to identify categories of analysis. The work is analyzed from the TPACK model, as a systemic and integral proposal to investigate teacher training practices as a complex and necessary phenomenon to continue studying.

A pesquisa tem como objeto de estudo o trabalho e o plano de carreira dos docentes dos Institutos Federais no Brasil (IFs). A partir da análise comparativa com a realidade docente nacional, objetiva-se refletir sobre as condições do trabalho docente em uma entidade com menos de uma década de existência no país. Como orientação metodológica, realizou-se uma pesquisa descritiva de caráter documental e bibliográfico, nos permitindo alcançar o objetivo proposto. Na sistematização das informações apuradas, foi demonstrado que os docentes dos IFs são estimulados à qualificação (mestrado e doutorado), dispõem de laboratórios, de estruturas para pesquisa e extensão, de cargas horárias de trabalho flexíveis que permitem a eles prepararem suas aulas e terem a vida pessoal tranquila, diferentemente dos professores das redes públicas municipal e estadual.Palavras-chave: Carreira Docente. From the comparative study based on national teaching reality, the purpose is to reflect on the conditions of teaching in an entity within less a decade of existence in our country. As methodological guidance, it was used a descriptive research with documental and bibliographical procedure, which enabled us to achieve the proposed objective. Concerning the systematization of gathered information, it was demonstrated that the teachers at IFs are encouraged to qualification (Masters and PhD), have labs, infrastructure for researches and extension programs, and flexible hourly schedules that allow them to plan their classes and have a quiet personal life, which does not happen with teachers of municipal and state public schools.Keywords: Teaching Career. The objective of this research is to know whether Podcast can improve the students’ pronunciation in speaking English when it is implemented in teaching learning process in class 01 Semester I, English Education Program, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, UNISRI, Surakarta in 2019/2020 Academic Year.This research method used a Classroom Action Research which was implemented in two cycles. The subject of the research was class 01 Semester I, English Education Program, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, UNISRI, Surakarta in 2019/2020 Academic Year. This study was conducted in two cycles. The first cycle consisted of four meetings, and the second cycle consisted of three meetings. The procedure of the action research consisted of planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The data were collected through questionnaire, interview, field notes, and test. To analyze the quantitative data, the researcher applied descriptive statistics. It was used to compare the scores and means of pre-test and post-test. The pre-test was conducted in the preliminary research while post-test was conducted at the end of cycle 1 and 2. The result of the test was used to know how well the students understand the text of listening. To analyze the qualitative data, the researcher analyzed the improvement of the teaching learning process based on the results of questionnaire, interview, and field notes.The result of the research showed that the use of Podcast has helped students to get exposed to correct pronunciation. By constantly listening to Podcast of native speakers of English, students develop their skill not only in listening but also in pronouncing the words in English correctly. It also has helped the students in improving the students’ vocabulary mastery. In conclusion, by listening to Podcast, students can improve their pronunciation and vocabulary mastery so that they also can speak more during the speaking activity.Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that students’ pronunciation in English can be improved by the use of Podcast. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers and students can use Podcast as one of the alternative techniques in teaching and learning speaking.Keywords : Podcast, Proununciation, Speaking Skill, Action Research

The STEM education teaching approach (STEM teaching) has been one of the important orientations ofthe Vietnamese general education program. However, thus farthere has been no competency framework for STEM teachingin our country. A competency framework for STEM teachingwould include two important things. With this framework,learners would have complete control when setting up theirplan, finding information, defining the learning contentmethodologies and providing multi-subject knowledge at thebeginning of a procedure. Furthermore, it can be orientatedto evaluate the expression level of each student. This paperpresents the process of designing a competency frameworkfor a STEM teaching and suggests the ways to use thisframework at the University of Education.
