Board composition is one particular issue regarding corporate governance. This study aims to find empirical evidence regarding the effect of board diversity proxied by gender diversity, nationality diversity, educational background, and the proportion of outside directors on firm value. This research was conducted in basic industrial and chemical manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange with an observation period of 3 years, those of from 2015-2017. The method of determining the sample uses a purposive sampling. The sample of this study amounted to 39 companies with a total of 117 samples. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that gender diversity and the proportion of outside directors have no effect on firm value while there is a positive effect between nationality diversity and educational background on firm value. This research is intended to analyse the influence of tax planning, CEO ownership, female member, board size, board independence, audit committee, and board meeting on firm value and the influence of board education background and board age on the relationship between tax planning and firm value in non-financial companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange. The population of this research are all non-financial companies consistently listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2016 to 2018. This research uses 53 samples of non-financial companies selected through purposive sampling method resulting in 159 data to be analysed using moderating regressions analysis. The result of this research showed that audit committee has influence positive and significant on firm value. The board age has influence positive and significant on the relationship between tax planning and firm value. While tax planning, CEO ownership, female member, board size, board independence, board meeting have no significant influence on firm value. The influence of board education background on the relationship between tax planning and firm value has no significant. The increase in the size of audit committee will increase the value of firm, it is because the presence of audit committee that consists of independent members will reduce financial manipulation or fraud in the firms. Board age is strengthen the relationship between tax planning and firm value. Because the older the member of board directors, the more they obey their obligation to pay taxes, so the tax planning activities will be more effective and it will increase the value of the firm. This study aims to examine the effect of corporate governance (CG) and corporate social responsibility (CSR) disclosure of earnings quality and firm value. Corporate governance with board diversity is measured from the aspect of age and background study of board members. CSR disclosure in the company’s annual report is measured by the score of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). This study measures the company’s earnings quality with discretionary accruals (DA), and the firm value with tobin’s q ratio. This study use a sample of 160 non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), so the total observations in this study are 640 samples. The result of this study provide empirical evidence that age and background study of board members don’t affect the quality of earnings and firm value, but the CSR activities affect the firm value.

This study aims to determine the effect of tax planning, board diversity and good corporate governance simultaneously on the value of the consumer goods sub-sector manufacturing companies listed on the IDX 2016-2018. The sampling technique was using purposive sampling technique. From the partial test results or the t test, from the test results the Tax Planning variable has an influence on Firm Value, because from the results of the t test the calculated t value of the Tax Planning variable is greater than the t table value and the significant value is less than 0.05. While the Board Diversity (DW) variable and the Institutional Ownership variable have no influence on the Firm Value variable, from the test results of these two variables the calculated t value is smaller than the t table value and the significance value is greater than 0.05. The Adjusted R Square value is 0.575. This means that 57.5% of the firm value variable can be explained by tax planning, female directors and institutional ownership. While the remaining 42.5% can be explained by other factors outside the independent variable.

This study aims to determine the effect of financial performance and good corporate governance (GCG) on the value of companies in manufacturing companies listed on the stock exchange Indonesia. The type of data used is secondary data in the form of annual report 2016. Population used in this study are all companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI). This research uses purposive sampling method with total population of 144 companies and sample of 31 companies. The results show that simultaneously ROA, OPM, NPM, KM, and KI have a positive influence on firm value. While partially ROA  have a positive influence on firm value. While OPM, NPM, KM, and KI have no positive influence on firm value).

Indonesia as one of developing countries should prepare for intense business competition in international market by continuously improving their financial performance which reflected by profitability enhancement. In order to achieved this goals, companies should build synergic relationship between stakeholders. Implementation of corporate governance is believed can assist companies in improving firm value by minimizing cost and maximize companies’ profit. This study aims to investigate the effect of corporate governance implementation on Indonesian companies. Corporate Governance Perception Index (CGPI) which establish by Indonesian Institute of Corporate Governance (IICG) used as proxy for corporate governance implementation, and ROA used as proxy for firm value. All the data obtain from Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) database and period 2008 to 2012 used as observation period. The result show that implementation of corporate governance has significant effect with firm value proxy by ROA. This study also concludes that market will be more concern on CGPI which generated through documentation and presentation indicators and also observation indicators rather than self-assessment indicators. This indicates that market would trust the information which comes from independen external parties. The result will be useful for investor in making their investment decision which based on profitability consideration. Keywords: Corporate Governance, CGPI, ROA, profitability
