Gender, Education and Marital Status as Determinants of Job Satisfaction

Abstract The issue of job satisfaction has been discussed by the researchers and managers of organizations for several decades. There are many different approaches to the issue. Currently, it is possible to find the research dealing with psychological aspects determining the level of job satisfaction, the research analysing the role of satisfaction and work motivation and the research focused on the consequences of job satisfaction and dissatisfaction. This paper describes how the job satisfaction of employees differs (if so) depending on their gender, level of education and marital status. It was found that people with university education rate their job satisfaction better, than people without university education. Similarly, people in a relationship evaluate their job satisfaction better than people without a relationship. No significant differences in general job satisfaction were found between men and women. The data for the research are based on a questionnaire survey, attended by 4,728 respondents from the Czech Republic working in various industries and in the enterprises of various sizes.

Lately there has been attention to work dissatisfaction and declining quality. Most people find it difficult to motivate themselves, therefore it is not surprising that motivating others is a difficult and complicated task. Motivation indicates the process of movement, including the encouraging situation that arises within the individual, the behavior caused by the situation and the purpose or end of the movement or action. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship of nurse characteristics with work motivation in Wamena Hospital inpatient room. This type of research is quantitative with an observational approach. The population is the entire nursing plant in Wamena Hospital with 186 people. Large samples were taken as many as 64 respondents. Sampling techniques used in this study is a simple random sampling technique. Based on the results of the study it is known that there is a meaningful relationship between age, working period and position with work motivation. While there are several factors that are not related to work motivation, namely gender, education and marital status. The statistical test used is path analysis. Statistical tests can be concluded that there is a meaningful relationship to variables as follows: the characteristics of nurses that affect work motivation are age, years of service and position, while the characteristics of gender, education and marital status do not have a significant relationship with work motivation. Based on the results of the study is expected to improve the ability and insight of nursing and motivation of work so that their productivity does not decrease. For example, give remuneration, promotion and periodic reward for outstanding nurses will encourage the motivation of nurse work to develop.

This research study is focused on the perception of the role of asocial worker by hospital nurses in the Czech and Slovak Re- public during the COVID-19 pandemic. Aim of the study:The main aim of the research study was to find the opinions of nurses from the Czech and Slovak Repub- lic on asocial worker who works in ahospital during acoron- avirus - COVID-19 pandemic and then compare their opinions in helping patients Research sample and setting:The research sample of the study consisted of 75 nurses with higher professional education (Czech Republic), university education of the first and second degree (Czech Republic, Slovak Republic), who were together with social workers in the front line in hospitals at the time of the coronavirus pandemic COVID-19. All participating respon- dents were informed about the purpose of the research study and the completion of the online questionnaire. Statistical analysis:The mathematical-statistical method chi- square test of the independence of the criteria of individual re- search hypotheses was used to compare the interviewed re- spondents in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Results of the study:Medical staff at the time of the COVID- 19 pandemic was satisfied with the social worker, as evidenced by the research study and their answers in the questionnaire survey. It is clear from the results of the research survey that the participants perceived the social worker positively during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This research analyzes (a) patterns of labor migration from Wonogiri Regency, (b) the impact of migration on the welfare level by taking into account the income level of migrant Wonogiri Regency, and (c) the role of migrants seen from homelands conditions. The results of binary logistic analysis showed that the variables age, education, and marital status, have a significant effect on intention nomads to settle in the overseas area. Based on survey findings in the field, 88.8 percent of Wonogiri nomads do not want to settle in the overseas regions. The economic analysis through linear regression analysis to explain the role of the nomads and the impact on the regional origin that shows only one independent variable that is used has a significant influence on the local nomads income overseas, namely: level of education, while the other independent variables are family dependents, ownership of property in the area of origin, length of stay in overseas, and marital status had no significant effect.

ABSTRACTThis paper reports findings from a study of 400 community-dwelling persons aged 65 and over. The stratified random sample resides in a city in Ontario, Canada, with a population of 260,000. A profile of their living arrangements is presented and then analysed with respect to respondent characteristics. Each of gender, marital status, and age are related to living arrangements at statistically significant levels, but control analyses indicate that gender is the most salient respondent characteristic. The authors argue that these observed gender differences in living arrangements are a reflection of sex role differences in today's older population. To the extent that these roles change, so too will the living arrangements of men and women. For both the present and future, differences by gender must be taken into account in housing and income policies.

This study aims to determine the effect of work motivation, organizational commitment, and job satisfaction on employee performance. The effect of organizational commitment mediates the relationship between work motivation on employee performance and job satisfaction on employee performance and psychological capital, which moderates the relationship between job satisfaction and employee performance. The object of this research is the employees of the state civil apparatus. They work in government agencies in the education sector of the Directorate of Senior High Schools in Jakarta. This study uses a quantitative approach with one hundred and ten respondents, sampling using a saturated sample technique, and a questionnaire as a measuring tool. Data analysis used the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method to test the model's suitability in this study with the help of the SmartPLS version 3 application. The results of this study conclude that work motivation, organizational commitment, and job satisfaction affect employee performance, organizational commitment can mediate the relationship between job satisfaction and employee performance but cannot mediate the relationship between work motivation and employee performance, and psychological capital can moderate the relationship between job satisfaction with employee performance.

One of the priority directions of administrative reforms that take place in the Republic of Kazakhstan is the enhancement of civil service effectiveness. And, the success of reforms will mostly be determined by the condition of civil service, which depends on the performance of civil servants. Taking into consideration the importance of motivated and satisfied employees on their commitment, this study was aimed to identify the relationship between motivation and job satisfaction on employees’ commitment and studying the mediating role of job satisfaction on the relationship of civil servants’ motivation and organizational commitment in the central and local executive bodies in Kazakhstan. In total, 1205 civil servants from 5 ministries and 4 regional administration completed a questionnaire adapted from previous studies. The results show significant relationships exist between work motivation dimensions and organizational commitment as well as work motivation and job satisfaction. Moreover, the study found the mediating effect of job satisfaction on the hypothesized relationships. This paper contributes to the existing human resources literature on employees’ commitment and guides management on how to improved employees’ job satisfaction and employee’s commitment.

This study investigates the relationship among job attitudes (job satisfaction and turnover intentions), heavy work investment (work engagement and workaholism), and work motivation (promotion focus and prevention focus). We develop a structural equation model to analyze data collected from a sample of banking employees. Our findings show that job satisfaction is a good predictor of work engagement (positive work investment), which, in turn, is related to progressive motivation (promotion focus). On the other hand, turnover intentions predict workaholism, which leads to preventive focus (waning motivation).

Abstract Introduction. Women suffer from health problems more often and for a longer time, however it is generally men who die earlier. Aim. The aim of this work is to compare the selected health behaviours of working men and women. Material and methods. The research included 100 men and 100 women. The respondents were tested with the matched pair-selection method, taking into consideration four variables: place of residence, level of education, marital status, and age. The survey questionnaire was used. Results. Men and women show similarities with respect to some health behaviours, showing significant differences (amount and kind of alcoholic beverages drunk, regularity of preventive checks) in relation to others. Conclusions. Women’s health behaviours are to be evaluated more positively than men’s. Both men and women require intensive educational activities concerning the effects of anti-health behaviours, especially bad eating habits and irregularity of preventive checks.

This research aims to determine the role of work motivation (intrinsic and extrinsic factors) and job satisfaction as an employee performance maker on STIE Indonesia Banking School permanent lecturers. The population in this study were all STIE Indonesia Banking School permanent lecturers in 2015. We conducted a survey and the respondents was taken from STIE Indonesia Banking School permanent lecturers for 31 respondents. We used questionnaire method to collect information from the respondents. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Square (PLS) with Smart PLS 3.0 software. The results showed that intrinsic factors and extrinsic factors has a positive effect on job satisfaction, furthermore intrinsic factors has a positive effect on employee performance. Whereas extrinsic factors and job satisfaction has no effect on employee performance.
