Abstract Background The challenge facing NGOs in most developing countries is the need to emerge as valuable forces that affect development in order to improve the living conditions of the people in several communities. Funding is necessary for the survival and development of these NGOs. Research aims: This study, therefore, sought to find out the efect of financial resource mobilisation strategies on the sustainability of NGOs in Nigeria, with particular reference to the Minna metropolis. Research aims The purposive sampling technique was used to select 118 staf from 50 NGOs as a sample size for the study. Three alternative hypotheses were raised to be tested at P<.05 and a structured questionnaire was adopted for data collection. The data were analysed using descriptive statistics, Pearson Correlation, and the Ordinary Least Square method of estimation. Methodology The result revealed the existence of a statistically significant and positive relationship between private contributions and the sustainability of NGOs, a positive but insignificant relationship between commercial activities and sustainability of NGOs, and an inverse relationship between government funding and sustainability of NGOs. Findings The study established that private contributions affect the sustainability of NGOs to a very large extent; government funding does not improve the sustainability of NGOs, and commercial activities do not have a significant impact on the sustainability of NGOs. Consequently, the study recommended that management and staf of NGOs should create more awareness about their operations in order to attract better contributions from private individuals and organisations.

The banking sector in any country plays a fundamental role in increasing the level of economic activity. However, the implementation of treasury single account has been devilled its performance. This study therefore investigates the implication of treasury single account on the performance of Nigerian Deposit Money Banks. Quantitative analysis was used in this research, with data collected by the researchers. Five banks (Zenith Bank, First Bank Plc, UBA, Access Bank and Guaranty Trust Bank) were selected through purposive method. Judgmental sampling technique was also used to select Head of Operation, Accountant and Branch Manager from 10 branches each of the selected bank in Oyo State, Nigeria, totaling 150 respondents as a sample size for the study. Data collection instrument used was a structured questionnaire and data analysis was performed with the aid of Ordinary Least Square method of estimation. Result shows that implementation of Treasury Single Account has significant relationship with closure of branches, withdrawal syndrome from the banking system, liquidity crisis and unemployment crisis in Deposit Money Banks. Subsequently, the study recommends that banks should focus on their core banking operations rather than feeding on government idle funds kept into various accounts by Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). Also, banks should sensitize people on the importance of baking culture instead of them keeping their money under their pillow, inside their farms and underground.

MSME development is a much required function for the development of an economy. Insurance is very old business cum service that supports the commercial activities by owning the risk associated in exchange for premium. The objective of this paper is to find out whether any relationship exists between the insurance and development of MSMEs in Indian context. The study uses Ordinary Least Square method to draw the regression equation and Granger Causality test to check for causality between Non-life Insurance sector development and development of MSME. It was found that non-life insurance and MSME are highly positively correlated. Though there is no causal relationship between these two variables but insurance has a positively significant influence on the development of MSME. The finding of this study indicates the requirement of favorable policies to develop the Insurance market in order to promote MSME leading to economic growth.
