Abstract The article proposes a method for determining the rational motion intensity of specific train traffic flows on railway transport corridors with account for balance of expenses on traction resources and cargo owners. A mathematical model based on stochastic optimization is developed, which allows to optimize, in the conditions of risks, the interval between trailing trains on the railway lines taking into account the limited resources of the traction rolling stock, the capacity of the stations and freight fronts at the cargo destination point. Solving this mathematical model allows to find a balance between the expenses for movement of train traffic flows from different railway lines to their terminal reference station and the expenses of a consignee, subject to the limitations of the technological logistics chain in cargo transportation. For the solution of this mathematical model, a Real-coded Genetic Algorithm (RGA) was used.

The influence of the existing conditions of operational work at transportation of cargoes by group and single cars is investigated. An analysis of modern approaches to improving the efficiency of the car fleet and the competitiveness of railway transport in the transport market of Ukraine. The most perspective approaches and directions of improvement of cargo delivery systems are allocated. A study of the efficiency of the organization of transportation by the criterion of total car-hours of downtime under accumulation. A mathematical model of chemical cargo transportation by carriage, group shipments and transportation of container trains with accumulation to technical norms of trains in the directions of transportation has been developed. The efficiency of two models of chemical cargo shipment organization is compared and a more efficient transportation option is identified. It is established that for more efficient use of rolling stock and reduction of car turnover there is transportation of goods in cars as a part of a container train. The influence of the components of the car turnover on its final value is analyzed. A study of the cost of transportation of benzene in tanks and tank containers in some areas. According to research, the cost of transporting benzene in tank containers on railway ownership platforms is twice less than in private tanks and tanks of Ukrzaliznytsia fleet. These recommendations will improve the process of transportation and increase the volume of goods by rail.

In the article was noted the importance of the study of the conditions for the carriage of goods by rail transport when executing the railway transport examination, and the main points of such studies are given. One of the causes of the onset of a railroad accident (hereinafter referred to as RTA) with damage to the rolling stock, infrastructure elements, loss of life and loss of cargo through damaged packaging, the integrity of the car body may be a mismatch of the cargo weight with established weight standards, unsatisfactory the technical condition of the rolling stock in which the cargo is transported, improper securing of the cargo in the car, disorder of attachment on the route or interference of unauthorized persons to the cargo itself (theft). As a part of the railway-transport expertise, experts investigate cases of derailment of railway rolling stock, spontaneous movement of cars from the parking lot, followed by their collision, and other cases. Upon the occurrence of an RTA, the compliance of the actions of the railway employees involved with the requirements of regulatory documents, the causal link and the immediate technical reason for its occurrence is investigated. Experts carrying out research within the examination regarded various possible discrepancies that could cause the occurrence of RTA. The inconsistency of the mass of the cargo with the established weight standards for transportation by rail is considered by experts, precisely as a possible discrepancy that could significantly affect the occurrence of the accident. This direction of research requires detailed consideration from the position of forensic expertise. The article discusses individual issues of this type of inconsistency. These points are considered in more detail in a research work devoted to a study of the main transport characteristics of the goods transported and their packages, with an assessment of the possibility of their influence on the causal relationship with the onset of the RTA as part of the railway transport expertise. Each type of faults (inconsistencies) identified during the carriage of goods by rail is investigated as part of the implementation of forensic railway transport examinations and requires the formation of detailed expert approaches. The presented work confirms the relevance of developing a methodology for assessing the impact of cargo transportation features on the onset of railway accidents. Key words: commercial malfunctions, forensic railway-transport expertise, cargo, features of transportation, fasteners, weight standards.

The aim of this work is to simulate the dynamic behavior of a phenol biodegradation process in a fluidized bed bioreactor (FBR). Pseudomonas putida is used for the biodegradation of phenol. A mathematical model was developed to describe the dynamic behavior of the biodegradation process. The model equations describing the process have been solved, and the rate of biodegradation and the biofilm thickness at different points of time have been determined. The mathematical model has been directly mapped onto the network architecture. The network is used to find an error function. Minimization of error function with respect to the network parameters (weights and biases) has been considered as training of the network. A real-coded genetic algorithm has been used for training the network in an unsupervised manner. The system is tested for two different inlet concentrations of feed. The results obtained are then compared with the experimental results. It is found that there is a good agreement between the experimental results and the results obtained from the model.

Abstract The article presents a mathematical model for optimizing traffic flows in an urban environment based on a stochastic approach. It allows to optimize traffic flows using a genetic algorithm by changing the phases of traffic lights operation. An exponential law of distribution of the generation of cars at the input points of the transport network has been established. The relationship between the intensity of servicing the traffic flow and the time of the green signal of the traffic light is revealed. Practical calculations have confirmed the applicability of the optimization model in traffic management.

Nowadays, the power plant is changing the power industry from a centralized and vertically integrated form into regional, competitive and functionally separate units. This is done with the future aims of increasing efficiency by better management and better employment of existing equipment and lower price of electricity to all types of customers while retaining a reliable system. This research is aimed to solve the optimal power flow (OPF) problem. The OPF is used to minimize the total generations fuel cost function. Optimal power flow may be single objective or multi objective function. In this thesis, an attempt is made to minimize the objective function with keeping the voltages magnitudes of all load buses, real output power of each generator bus and reactive power of each generator bus within their limits. The proposed method in this thesis is the Flexible Continuous Genetic Algorithm or in other words the Flexible Real-Coded Genetic Algorithm (RCGA) using the efficient GA's operators such as Rank Assignment (Weighted) Roulette Wheel Selection, Blending Method Recombination operator and Mutation Operator as well as Multi-Objective Minimization technique (MOM). This method has been tested and checked on the IEEE 30 buses test system and implemented on the 35-bus Super Iraqi National Grid (SING) system (400 KV). The results of OPF problem using IEEE 30 buses typical system has been compared with other researches.

Current geopolitical and economic conditions for the functioning of railway transport in most post-Soviet states are such that it is extremely difficult to provide required quality of transport services and break-even operations at high expenses for maintaining the railway infrastructure and rolling stock. Dynamics of transportation of the Tajik Railway (TSR) is shown, which displays that most of its sections are classified as low-intensity ones. The paper proposes methodical principles, setting and qualitative analysis of the task of rationalization of operational work and organization of car flows for international transportation, taking into account the specifics of the Tajik Railway. There is a problem of complex maintenance of the efficiency of operational work in modern conditions based on the synthesis of the tasks of self-management (rational internal operational technology of the Tajik Railway) and coordination tasks (technological interaction with railway administrations of other states). Author substantiated the necessity of solving this problem. Proposed classification of technological restrictions and controlled variables in the performance of transport takes into account methods for changing external conditions for the functioning of the railway landfill and methods for increasing internal efficiency of its operation. The search for the solution of the problem involves direct search of variants along its ordered set with clipping of groups of variants that do not correspond to constraints, with the subsequent finding of compromise control over a set of effective alternatives.

The transport market of operator companies of various forms of ownership in Ukraine is constantly evolving, but the tasks associated with the selection and implementation of the priorities of the development of the transport market, the provision of railway services by the carriers - owners of rolling stock, are not fully resolved. There is no regulatory framework that determines the procedure for choosing the priorities of transport market development, their status is not defined, the relation of the selected priorities with the budget of Ukraine is not defined. Therefore, the task of improving the mechanism for selecting scientific and technological priorities for the development of these processes is relevant.
