Creative thinking ability of students is still low and less attention in the implementation of the learning of mathematics. Some efforts are needed to foster creative thinking ability because of lack of creative thinking ability in the learning of mathematics. One of effort is applying Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model. The purpose of this research was (1) to describe the creative thinking ability of students during the learning process with PBL Model, and (2) to determine the increase of the creative thinking ability of students after implementation of PBL model. This research used mixed methods with concurrent triangulation strategy. Samples were selected by random sampling from all grade 8 students from one of junior high school at Banda Aceh, those were 28 students in class VIII-3. The instrument used to obtain data of the creative thinking ability of students after learning with PBL Model was test and observation. The instrument used to obtain data to determine the increase of the students’ creative thinking ability after learning with the PBL model were pretest and posttest. Test and observations were analyzed by using an assessment rubric of creative thinking abilities with descriptive qualitative method. The result of pretest and posttest were analyzed by statistical tests using t-test. The results showed that the students were creative in solving problems during the learning process with model of PBL. There was increasing creative thinking abilities of students after learning with PBL Model. The implication of this research indicates that creative thinking abilities of students increase through PBL model.

ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to improve students’ mathematical creative thinking ability in the classroom taught using Problem Based Learning (PBL). The design of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The object of this research is the implementation of PBL model. Thesubject of this research is all students in class VIII-A SMP Negeri 4Balige academic year 2017/1018 consist of 32 students. The result of this research are: (1) The number of students who reach category completed for MCTA test in cycle I are 8 persons with percentage of completeness is 25%, students not completed are 24 persons with percentage of completeness is 75% and the score of MCTA reached is 1,97 in low criteria, (2) The number of students who reach category completed for MCTA test in cycle II  are 25 persons with percentage of completeness is 78,125%, students not completed are 7 persons with percentage of completeness is 21,875% and the score of MCTA reached is 2,81 in high criteria (3) Learning by implemented PBL model could make the students’ activity was good category in learning, and (4) Learning by implemented PBL model can improve students’ mathematical creative thinking ability. Keywords: Mathematical Creative Thinking,  Problem Based Learning

The aim of this study was determine the differences of the ability of mathematical creative thinking and the differences in the increase between classes using Problem Based Learning (control class) and the class that uses a model of Problem Based Learning with tangram. The research method used is quasi experimental design of non-equivalent pre-test-post-test control group design. The population in this study were all students of class VII junior high school in Kuningan in the even semester of the academic year 2017/2018. Through purposive sampling technique, 2 classes of 10 classes were selected as samples where the class VIIA as the control class and VIIB as experimental class with a total sample of 70 students. Data collection techniques were obtained through mathematical creative thinking ability test and data analysis technique included normality test, homogeneity test, and t test. The results showed that there were difference in mathematical creative thinking ability and there were difference in the increase between the classes using Problem Based Learning and the classes using a model of Problem Based Learning with tangram.

This research is a preliminary study regarding the teacher's description of learning, student learning motivation, students' creative thinking skills, and the need for developing electronic comic learning media based on integrated problem based learning Islamic values at SMPN 3 Watumalang. This research uses a descriptive method. This study's subjects were 44 students of class VIII and teachers of science subjects at SMPN 3 Watumalang. The research was conducted from October to November 2020. The data collection instruments were questionnaires, interview guidelines, and creative thinking skills test questions. The results of interviews with students indicated that the students' intrinsic motivation was still low. The ability to think creatively is still lacking, with a percentage of 42.8%. In the elaboration indicator, most students answered correctly, while in the originality indicator, students were less careful in answering, and only 14.3% of students could answer correctly. Based on the questionnaire analysis results, electronic comic learning media based on problem based learning integrated Islamic values as an alternative media for learning media on vibrations, waves, and sounds in everyday life are needed for development with a percentage of 64%. The use of electronic comics is expected to increase student motivation and creative thinking skills.

This study aimed to (1) describe students' creative thinking skills during the learning process by using PBL model, (2) find out the improvement of students' creative thinking skills after using the PBL model, and (3) describe student learning independence during the learning process by using PBL model. This study uses mixed method research with concurrent embedded strategy. The sample was selected by random sampling, namely students of class VIII-3, which were consisted of 28 students from all eighth grade of SMP Negeri 16 Banda Aceh. The instruments in this study were daily description test, observation and questionnaire. These instruments were used to obtain data of the improvement of students' creative thinking abilities after using the PBL model were pre-test and post-test, and also the instruments which were used to describe student learning independence during the learning process by using PBL model. The result of data analysis in the daily description test and observation used the assessment rubric of creative thinking skills with qualitative descriptive method. Pre-test and post-test results were analyzed by statistical test using SPSS version 22 software for Windows, and the results of the learning independence questionnaires were analyzed by using a Likert scale and percentage. The result of the study showed that students are creative in solving problems related to the comparison during the PBL model in learning process. Thus, there was an improvement in students' creative thinking skills after using PBL learning model. The result of this study also showed that students have learning independence during the PBL model in learning process. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of Socioscientific Issues learning approach to improving students' creative thinking ability. Learning with the Socioscintific Issues approach needs to be trained because it not only develops creative thinking skills, but also other abilities can be developed such as critical thinking skills, decision-making and arguing ability. The research method that will be used is quasi experiment with Design Nonequivalent Control Group. This research was conducted at State Junior High School 6 Sukabumi with research population that is class VII (Seven). The sampling technique used is Purposing Sampling. Indicators of creative thinking that is sensitivity, thinking smoothly, thinking flexible, original thinking and thinking detailing. The results showed that the average value of N-gain of the experimental class was 0.56 higher than the control class of 0.44. The results of the z test show that the data produced in accordance with the criteria is zhitung = 3.177> ztabel = 1.998 with a trust level of 0.05 (5%), meaning H0 is rejected and H1 accepted, it means that the Socioscientific Issues learning approach influences the creative thinking ability of learners water pollution material. The response of learners to the learning approach Socioscientific Issue gave a positive response on the approach of learning approaches Socioscientific Issues. Keywords: Creative Thinking, Socioscientific Issues.
