The aim of this study was to demonstrate the application of Statistics Quality Control in fierce industries. By observing Batik production process at PT XYZ as a case in this work, we applied Six Sigma Method to analyze defective product and their cause while also measure overall quality goodness. Six Sigma is a method to improve a process and reduce defects in productions into 3.4 defects per million productions. We use handprint batik productions at PT XYZ as a case in this study. The method is involving Define, Measure and Analyze (DMA) phases. By using Six Sigma, it was obtained that the quality of handprint batik are quite good with sigma of 3.105 and defect rate of 54.269 million production (DPMO). There are four defect causes of handprint batik namely: ripped fabric, shallowness, perforation, and mispattern which contribute 41,7%, 35,8%, 15%, 7,5% respectively from overall defects. The main cause of defects is the carelessness of workers in production process. Therefore we need to reduce the carelessness to  improve production quality.

The increasing number of bag factories throughout Indonesia that have well-known brands and every manufacturer is required to provide products of good quality. Poor product quality will cause consumers to move to other similar products. So in the production of bags, the thing that must be considered by the company is the quality of its products. In this study the authors aim to analyze quality control in a production process and identify several factors that cause disability in the product, PT. MAG is a bag company that is demanded to control the quality of the production process. This study uses a six sigma analysis tool consisting of five steps, namely using the DMAIC method (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control). Based on the results of the study there are three types of disabilities in the production process, including cutting, zippers and broken bag straps with an average sigma value of 2.48 with a DPMO value of 20256.92. Factors affecting the production process are human, machine, environment, equipment, raw materials, and methods. In this case the company can use the Six Sigma method because it is still in the medium category.

Companies need to maintain and improve the quality of products derived by applying a good quality control, because quality is an important factor in improving satisfaction and loyalityas consumers, as well as PT. PG .Gorontalo ; Six Sigma methods that have high discipline can help develop and deliver near-perfect products. The purpose of this study was to determine how the value of sigma PT .PG . Gorontalo and what factors of product defects. In this analyzis , researchers took 3 months of data production and analyze the Six Sigma DMAIC method. Researchers examined / analyzed using a questionnaire and the report of production to help get the material of analyzis. From this research , it has been showed that the presence of defects of products in the production process of PT. PG. Gorontalo at 5.664, 72 DPMO. It is also known that the cause is the human factor , machines, methods, materials, and environment. Based on these results , we can conclude that the value of sigma PT. PG. Gorontalo is located at 4 to 4.5 sigma, the factor most dominant cause of disability is due to lack of proper vacuum pressure

PT X is a small enterprise producing various types of jute fabric products. As a traditional business, the company still largely rely on the handiness and crafting skills from their workers. Whilst the business competition increases, PT X requires to strengthen the business by improving product quality in an efficient way. Besides high level of defects, PT X has also non-value-added activities in their production resulting in high overtime hours of their workers. Although PT X considers the overtime is acceptable to achieve the production target, there is room for improvement to reduce the defects as well as to shorten the production lead time. This paper aims to tackle the inefficiency and quality of the company. Lean six sigma is proposed to improve the condition and change management is implemented to ensure the commitment and participation of all staff for the success of change. Hence, this paper proposes the combination of change management and lean six sigma to improve production quality, lead time and staff participation. Combining DMAIC methods with change management, a methodology called DMA(C)IC is used with the middle C is for change. The implementation of the integration between change management in lean six sigma has resulted in the reduced number of defects and shorter lead time and the awareness of the workers to improve their working behavior.

PT. Laksana Teknik Makmur is a manufacturing company engaged in the manufacture of car accesories in Indonesia. One of the products produced is a tank washer with a high defect rate in the production process of 11 percent. This study uses the DMAIC method (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) as a tool to solve problems about improving the quality of the process of making tank washer. The initial analysis for Define shows that CTQ (Critical to Quality) is the largest defect of the wave, which is 4.1 percent of the total defects of tank washer. From the measurement results in the Measure stage, the DPMO value is 108475 with Sigma Level 2.73. Then Analyze is done to get any factors that cause wave defects. On the Improve stage using Ishikawa's method, the results of the new Standard Operating Procedure are recommended. In the final stage, Control is carried out after the implementation of the new SOP for 1 month, the result is that the wave defect value drops to 2 percent and the Sigma Level value increases to 3.326 with the value of DPMO 20424.

As technology advances at this time, players in business are aware of the importance of product quality in the increasingly fierce competition in the industrial world due to the emergence of many similar companies. Therefore, companies must be able to compete to meet customer desires and try to retain customers. To maintain customers and their marketing areas, companies must have high competitiveness in order to survive by prioritizing quality improvement, increasing efficiency and increasing productivity to improve quality because by increasing quality, products can be accepted among consumers so that company goals can be fulfilled. Therefore, the company must carry out effective quality control which will result in high productivity, lower overall cost of making goods and the factors that cause production failure to be minimized. To improve quality, use the six sigma method, DMAIC and seven tools so that it can be known the cause of the damage and what actions are taken so that there needs to be a controversy to stabilize the processes of the production process so that we can know what percentage of damage and what factors cause damage, therefore there must be measurements and recommendations for improvement and control to reduce the causes From the analysis, it was found that the dent cup was 20.36%, the lid was 21.36% less dense, the lid was damaged in the finished product 18.72%, the cup was 19.28% less thick, the packaging was flexible 20.55%Seiring kemajuan teknologi pada saat ini pelaku di bisnis menyadari akan pentingnya kualitas produk dalam persaingan dunia industri yang semakin ketat karena banyak bermunculan perusahaan-perusahaan sejenis. Oleh sebab itu perusahaan harus dapat bersaing untuk memenuhi keinginan  pelanggan dan berusaha dapat mempertahankan pelanggan. Untuk mempertahankan pelangan dan wilayah pemasaranya perusahaan-perusahaan harus mempunyai daya saing yang tinggi untuk dapat bertahan dengan mengutamakan peningkatan mutu, peningkatan efisiensi dan peningkatan produktivitas untuk meningkatkan kualitas karena dengan peningkatan kualitas, produk dapat diterima di kalangan konsumen sehingga tujuan perusahaan dapat terpenuhi. Maka dari itu perusahaan harus melakukan pengendalian kualitas yang efektif akan menghasilkan produktivitas yang tinggi, biaya pembuatan barang keseluruhan yang lebih  rendah serta  faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan kegagalan produksi akan dapat ditekan sekecil mungkin. Untuk meningkatkan kualitas mengunakan metode six sigma, DMAIC dan seven tools agar dapat diketahui penyebab  kerusakan  dan  tindakan  apa  saja  yang dilakukan sehingga perlu ada kontror untuk menstabilkan  peoses proses produksi sehinga dapat di ketahui berapa persen  kerusakan dan faktor-faktor apa saja yang menyebabkan  kerusakan maka dari itu harus ada pengukuran dan  rekomendasi perbaikan serta melakukan kontrol untuk mengurangi penyebab kerusakan. Dari hasil analisis  di ketahui cup  penyok 20,36%, lid kurang  rapat  21,36%, lid  rusak  pada produk jadi 18,72%,cup kurang tebal 19,28 %kemasan lentur 20,55%

Abstrak. Dunia industri yang semakin berkembang akan mengakibatkan banyaknya persaingan. Perus-ahaan yang dapat bersaing adalah perusahaan yang dapat menjaga  kualitas produknya dengan baik sehingga dapat memenuhi kepuasan konsumen. Maka dari itu diperlukan pengendalian kualitas. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada penurunan cacat pada produk batu bata merah di CV. Ghatan Fatahillah dengan metode Six Sigma-DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, dan Control). Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan DPMO sebesar 36.212 dengan nilai sigma 3,29. Jenis cacat yang paling sering terjadi pada batu bata merah yaitu pecah/patah yaitu sebesar 4.327 atau 59,81% dari total keseluruhan produk yang cacat.  Hasil dari tahap analyze dengan fishbone diagram, ditetapkan penyebab dari pecah/cacat, yaitu: pekerja kurang paham standar kualitas, tidak adanya pemeriksaan produk, pekerja kurang paham prosedur kerja, kinerja mesin tidak stabil, pekerja kurang teliti,  jumlah penggilingan tidak menentu, dan komposisi batu bata tidak menentu. Maka perlu dilakukan usulan perbaikan agar dapat mengurangi jumlah produk yang cacat pada batu bata merah. Kata kunci: DMAIC, DPMO, Pengendalian Kualitas, Six Sigma Abstract. The growing industrial world will result in a lot of competition. Companies that can compete are companies that can maintain the quality of their products well so that they can meet customer satisfaction. Therefore, quality control is needed. This research is focused on reducing defects in red brick products at CV. Ghatan Fatahillah with the Six Sigma-DMAIC method (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control). From the research results obtained DPMO of 36,212 with a sigma value of 3.29. The type of defect that most often occurs in red bricks is broken / broken, which is 4,327 or 59.81% of the total defective products. The results of the Analyze stage with the fishbone diagram showed that the causes of breakage / defects were determined, namely: workers do not understand quality standards, lack of product inspection, workers do not understand work procedures, unstable machine performance, workers are not careful, the number of mills is erratic, and composition erratic bricks. Abstract This study aims to determine and identify the causes of defects in the production process of PT. Triteguh Manunggal Sejati and know the level of sigma level. This research uses the six sigma method with the DMAIC approach as a quality control tool, which includes the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control stages. Based on this study the results obtained are the level of sigma level at PT.Triteguh Manunggal Sejati is 4.96, which means that in the stage of sigma level the company has not reached the level of six sigma levels because in the production process at PT.Triteguh Manunggal Sejati still has product defects in the production process not yet achieved zero defect. The causes of product defects are based on cause and effect diagrams namely lid / seal defects are leaky lid, broken lid, and tilted lid. The main factor to achieve business success in the era of globalization is quality. Quality control is key in maintaining customer loyalty. In the company's production process is still found the resulting product does not comply with the specified specifications. This study aims to determine the value of sigma and factors causing damage to the production process of bagging section For companies with quality control is expected to achieve corporate goals. In this study, the methods used is Six Sigma with define, measure, analyze, improve. Six Sigma result is measurement of company performance baseline at measurement stage that is company at condition 5,1 sigma with DPMO equal to 162,4532. The factors causing the disability of sugar packing are lack of research and skill of the operator, instability of conveyor speeds and jet engine position, machine hygiene condition, lack of weighing machine, and ineffective treatment, and control method.

Every manufacturing company will strive to create the best quality products. This is also done by PT. CMSM, a steel company, is producing corrugated zinc products. In several production periods, the defective product values were still found that exceeded the tolerance limit value set at 0.5% in corrugated zinc products. These problems are, of course, very detrimental to the company, so it’s essential to control the quality of corrugated zinc products. This study aimed to determine the factors that cause product defects, propose plans to improve product quality, and provide managerial recommendations based on Six Sigma analysis. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the study results, it is known that DPO is 0.000885 and DPMO is 884.6028. At this time, the company is at the level of 4.64 sigma with CTQ (Critical to Quality) folded zinc sheet, cut size is not according to standard, thickness is not according to standard, uneven coating layer and perforated zinc sheet. Based on the analysis, five factors cause product defects: humans, machines, methods, materials, and the environment. To improve quality, the company should improve their quality control through 5W + 1H analysis, namely by providing training to employees, periodic machine maintenance and ensuring that the SOPs that have been made are implemented correctly and adequately. Keywords: six sigma, DMAIC, product defect, quality control, manufacturing

The quality of aluminium alloy in the production process on the chemical composition basis was evaluated. The quality of casting alloy depends on the chemical composition of melt and on the technological process of production process. The basic elements such as Si, Cu, Fe, Mg and Al in melting were evaluated. The obtained data were compared with the guide data referred to in the standard for aluminium alloy.
