The increasing number of bag factories throughout Indonesia that have well-known brands and every manufacturer is required to provide products of good quality. Poor product quality will cause consumers to move to other similar products. So in the production of bags, the thing that must be considered by the company is the quality of its products. In this study the authors aim to analyze quality control in a production process and identify several factors that cause disability in the product, PT. MAG is a bag company that is demanded to control the quality of the production process. This study uses a six sigma analysis tool consisting of five steps, namely using the DMAIC method (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control). Based on the results of the study there are three types of disabilities in the production process, including cutting, zippers and broken bag straps with an average sigma value of 2.48 with a DPMO value of 20256.92. Factors affecting the production process are human, machine, environment, equipment, raw materials, and methods. In this case the company can use the Six Sigma method because it is still in the medium category.

Industrial businesses in Indonesia realize that consumer desires have changed over time. Consumers desire that becomes the main priority is quality. PT. Bitrate Industries, as a company that produces yarn in Semarang, always strives to improve product quality to the desires of consumers. The company faces quality control problems: the production process of 20 OE yarn, producing the highest defective products. The Six Sigma approach analyzes the causes of defects, identifies sources of variation, proposes improvements with 5W + 1H, and implements a quality control plan. Most defects occur in the production process in the autocross engine, which is caused by engine wear. Implementation of the kaizen approach can be given proposals in the form of improvements in maintenance, according to the existing scheduling and periodic replacement of parts. This study concludes that the proportion of defects is still in the controlled stage, but the quality control of the product is still needed. A quality improvement project with a Six Sigma approach can benefit any company that needs to find the most efficient way to improve product quality.

Manufacturing in India is witnessing a wave of growth, which is required to be supported by measures to increase productivity. Improved technology and infrastructure, design and process innovation, skill development, quality improvement and waste minimization are some of the ways that can be adopted to achieve this goal. At the same time demand for higher value at reduced price is also increasing on the consumer front. As a result, manufacturers are increasingly adopting quality improvement techniques to improve productivity and quality, reduce waste and thereby providing higher value at moderate cost. The data driven Six Sigma quality improvement methodology provides a framework to identify, eliminate and control the causes of variation in an operational process. In this paper, we study the chassis preparation process of an amplifier production process and implement the Six Sigma DMAIC model to identify the causes of variation, suggest and implement measures for improvement, and establish control measure to control the process performance post implementation stage. The implementation of the DMAIC methodology improved the process performance and provided measure to maintain dependable quality in the process.

Quality control becomes an important key for companies in suppressing the number of defective produced products. Six Sigma is a quality control method that aims to minimize defective products to the lowest point or achieve operational performance with a sigma value of 6 with only yielding 3.4 defective products of 1 million product. Stages of Six Sigma method starts from the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) stages that help the company in improving quality and continuous improvement. Based on the results of research on baby clothes products, data in March 2018 the percentage of defective products produced reached 1.4% exceeding 1% tolerance limit, with a Sigma value of 4.14 meaning a possible defect product of 4033.39 opportunities per million products. In the pareto diagram there were 5 types of CTQ (Critical to Quality) such as oblique obras, blobor screen printing, there is a fabric / head cloth code on the final product, hollow fabric / thin fabric fiber, and dirty cloth. The factors caused quality problems such as Manpower, Materials, Environtment, and Machine. Suggestion for consideration of company improvement was continuous improvement on every existing quality problem like in Manpower factor namely improving comprehension, awareness of employees in producing quality product and improve employee's accuracy, Strength Quality Control and give break time. Materials by making the method of cutting the fabric head, the Machine by scheduling machine maintenance and the provision of needle containers at each employees desk sewing and better environtment by installing exhaust fan and renovating the production room.
