The study was conducted in Samarahan Division, Sarawak to identify the production constraints faced by smallholding paddy farmers. This survey was conducted in four districts in Samarahan Division. All the respondents were selected randomly from the list of the registered paddy farmers obtained from Department of Agriculture Sarawak. There were 273 respondents from four districts participating in this study. Data were collected by using questionnaire survey. The obtained data were analysed by using correlation analysis and Multiple Linear Regressions (MLR) analysis. The finding reported that only physical and technology could be concluded as significant production constraint to the paddy production. Various suggestions of management practices also have been discussed to overcome the constraints towards a more sustainable paddy production.

The study examined the influence of credit management practices on financial performance of Nigerian banks with specific reference to First bank Plc. Data was collected using Purposive sampling technique from thirty (30) respondents as a sample size used to collect data from the respondents. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze data, such as frequency, percentage, weighted mean score, and multiple regression. The result revealed that credit management practices have a significant positive influence on the financial performance of First bank. The result concluded that client appraisal, credit risk control, and collection policy are major predictors of financial performance of First bank. Subsequently, the study recommended that management of other banks should learn from First bank by enhancing their client appraisal techniques, credit risk control and adopting a more stringent policy to improve their financial performance.

The concerns with sustainability in environmental and social realm led to an expressive increase in generation of energy of renewable sources in last years. This paper addresses an investigation on possible associations between the increase of renewable energies generation and the economic and financial performance indicators of countries. The multiple linear regressions method is applied to a data panel of the period from 2005 to 2008, in 54 countries. The outcomes point to an association between higher generation of renewable energies and lower GDP growths, higher per capita income and higher investments in gross fixed capital formation, besides other interesting associations.

A robust bank industry is a major player in the stability of an economy. By way of financial ratios and Z-score, the study analysed UT Bank’s financial performance prior to the recent bank sector reforms in Ghana. Annual financials over a ten year period (2007-2016) were used. Debt management practices of UT Bank per the results obtained were quite on the hind side. Leverage and risk variables were poorly handled. Inability to meet creditors’ claims would have been eminent considering the average mean values of debt-to-assets and debt-to equity ratios of 0.76 and 0.90 respectively. The entire bank sector will be put on a sound footing if credit management practices of individual banks are refreshed. The bank industry regulator should tighten its supervisory and monitoring role over banks to help detect early signs of non-performing banks. The study further recommends that statutory lending limits of banks be re-enforced to uphold the threshold of 10 percent for unsecured loans and 25 percentage for secured loans of net owned funds of the bank.

Abstract The study aims at determining the financial performance of companies in the pharmaceutical industry between 2009 and 2014 by means of the indicator of the financial return rate, using multiple linear regressions as research method. By analysing the evolution of the share of companies in the pharmaceutical industry based on the trend of the financial rate of return, we can estimate that the number of entities that resort to supporting the financial activities from loans and liabilities is growing in the period under analysis. This is due mainly to the liquidity crisis faced by entities, as a result of the high recovery duration of debts. Also, using the multiple linear regression we can highlight that, the financial return of pharmaceutical companies is positively influenced by their economic profitability, by the equity multiplier and by inflation, and negatively, by the net profit margin.

A robust bank industry is a major player in the stability of an economy. The operational efficiency and stability of banks are therefore paramount. By way of financial ratios and Z-score, this study analysed UT Bank’s financial performance prior to the 2017 bank sector reforms in Ghana. Annual financials over a ten year period (2007-2016) were used. Debt management practices of UT Bank per the results obtained were quite on the hind side and unimpressive. This was reflected in the poor leverage and risk management variables. UT Bank would have been unable to meet creditors’ claims considering the mean average values of debt-to-assets and debt-to equity ratios of 0.76 and 0.90 respectively. The entire bank sector will benefit if credit management practices of individual banks are refreshed and worked on.

This study aims to determine whether perceptions of corruption and organizational climate affect the compliance of personal taxpayers. This explanatory study used quantitative approach of statistical parametric test and multiple linear regressions with questionnaire instrument. This study involved personal taxpayer in the area of KPP Pratama Kota Surakarta. The result of this study confirms that the perceptions of individual tax corruption and organizational climate affect the compliance of personal taxpayers. The better the organization’s climate in emphasizing tax compliance is, the higher the level of compliance personal taxpayers is. AbstractThis conceptual paper aims at identifying a theoretical framework for the determinants of revenue management (RM) practices and their impacts on the financial performance of hotels. To create this framework, a two-phased process is employed where the first stage involves an explicit examination of the literature related to practices of revenue management and their determinants and to hotel financial performance. The second stage involves an enhancement of the framework. The theoretical structure is developed based on past theoretical explanations, and empirical analysis is conducted in the fields of revenue management. The researchers propose a theoretical framework illustrating how revenue management practices and their determinants affect the financial performance of Kenyan hotels. The use of contingency theory and its justifications and inadequacies among studies on revenue management in hotels is highlighted. The methods highlighted by the reviewed theoretical framework may be utilized to organize revenue management (RM) practices and their determinants for Kenyan hotels. Measurements for the financial performance of hotels are also described. Last, the researchers call for empirical research that authenticates the proposed model using a cross-sectional survey. The present work can inspire scholars and specialists to determine how RM practices and their determinants impact the financial performance of hotels. By assimilating knowledge from numerous disciplines, this paper emphasizes aggregated awareness surrounding the conceptualization of RM, RM practices adopted in hotels, and the financial performance of hotels.
