You Pedestrians are one of the highest traffic accident objects. Several ways are used to reduce the number of accidents, among others by providing road crossing facilities, such as zebra cross and pedestrian bridge crossing. Unfortunately, the utilization of such facilities, especially pedestrian bridge crossing is still very less. This condition raises the need to identify efficiency use the pedestrian bridge crossing. The study location is a pedestrian bridge crossing in the road of Pangeran Antasari, Banjarmasin City. The studies method used are survey method and analysis method. The analysis shows that pedestrian percentage that doesn’t use pedestrian bridge crossing is very big, that is 87% at busy time and 88% at not busy time. The solution to increase the use of pedestrian bridge crossing is by install a curb railing fence on both sides of the road (about 200 m).

Pedestrian crossing speed and waiting time are critical parameters for designing traffic signals and ensuring pedestrian safety. This study aimed to carry out microscopic level research on pedestrian crossing speed and waiting time at intersections in Dhaka. To fulfill this aim, crossing-related data of 560 pedestrians were collected from three intersections in Dhaka using a videography survey method. Descriptive and statistical analyses were carried out, and then two multiple linear regression (MLR) models were developed for these two parameters by using the collected data. From the results, 1.15 m/s was found to be the design pedestrian crossing speed. Results also show that the crossing speed of pedestrians was associated with intersection control type, gender, age, crossing type, crossing group size, compliance behavior with control direction, and crossing location. In case of waiting time, findings show that pedestrians did not want to wait more than 20–30 s to cross the road. Furthermore, the waiting time of the pedestrians varied with intersection control type, gender, age, minimum gap, waiting location, and vehicle flow. Findings of this study will help to alleviate traffic safety problems by designing an effective intersection control system.

For decades, around the world is developing a fatigue detection system to alert drivers when they reach the state of fatigue that threatens them in traffic. Most of the research on the impact of fatigue on drivers based on driving simulators mainly because it is a controlled environment, cheap and safe approach. Since the nineties of the last century, many surveys were conducted in which the survey method was applied, while examining the subjective attitudes of drivers about the impact of fatigue on traffic safety. The beginning of the 21st century is characterized by the development of a fatigue detection system based on modern technologies, and a number of experiments were conducted. However, it not yet in use tools that can be easily detected drivers fatigue, in order to respond quickly and prevent them from operating the vehicle in such condition. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate the importance and implementation of a new fatigue identification model for commercial vehicle drivers in selected transport companies. Based on the results of this research, it is possible to determine which company is the safest from the aspect of fatigue, which is least safe. Also, the analysis of the results can determine which influencing factor is “the weakest link” among the drivers in the transport company, or where to direct measures in order to improve the road safety of the company, and therefore the local community. The study included five transport companies in Serbia, three of which are engaged in the carriage of passengers, and two transport goods. The survey used the survey method, the face face model, and 265 drivers of commercial vehicles participated, 16.6% of whom were found fatigued before the start of the shift.

Purpose of this study is to develop a logistics processes interaction model within the development of urban agglomeration, taking into account basic functional areas of logistics. Objectives of the study were to define the concept of "agglomeration logistics", to identify the main logistics processes of agglomeration, to calculate the logistics stability index (LSI) for the Almaty urban agglomeration In this paper such research methods as text analysis, logic modeling, survey method of analysis of hierarchies were used. The significance of the study lies in the development of a model explaining the nature of logistics processes interactions in Almaty urban agglomeration. The novelty of the research lies in adaptation and practical application of the methodology for assessing sustainability of urban agglomeration logistics and identifying most influencing factors in order to improve it. The main results of the research are: formulating the concept of "agglomeration logistics", identifying interaction algorithms of the main agglomeration logistics processes and calculating the logistics stability index for Almaty agglomeration. The following conclusions were made: there are problems of inefficient functioning of logistics processes within the agglomeration. Increasing number of road cargo and passengers has revealed the need to increase road transport network efficiency and carrying capacity; as a result of territorial structure, insufficient development of transport communications between the agglomerations ‘districts, loads on the road transport network increased, which led to violations of fundamental logistics` rules such as "just in time", "optimal route", "high delivery speed", which increases the load on logistics processes and hinders its integration; main constraints to the sustainability of logistics in Almaty agglomeration are air pollution and poor road safety.

The problem of road traffic is one of the key challenges that cities will have to deal with in the future. It is also a problem directly related to the concept of sustainable development. Reducing the negative impact of road traffic in future cities can be achieved through cooperation in the following areas: social—shaping customer behavior and habits, economic—changing attitudes towards owning a car, and environmental—aimed at reducing the vehicle’s impact on the natural environment. A literature review was used to identify the research gap concerning the impact of the incentive system on increasing the environmental performance of drivers under short-term rental. Referring to the research gap, the main goal of the article is to identify the attractiveness of eco-driving incentives for drivers under short-term rental. The study used the survey method. The study was based on 323 completed questionnaires (female—122 and male—201). The following methods were also used in the analysis of the results: Anderson–Darling, Mood’s Median test and Kruskal Wallis multiple pairwise comparisons. The evaluation of the attractiveness of the incentive to eco-driving depends on the characteristic of the client who rents the car. Thus, it is possible to shape incentive systems for car rental customers that can shape their positive behavior on the road. Among the most attractive incentives for eco-driving in a rented car are: the possibility of upgrading a car in the next rental, discount for future rental and free car-wash.

The vulnerability of an urban road network is affected by many factors, such as internal road network layout, network structure strength, and external destructive events, which have great uncertainty and complexity. Thus, there is still no unified and definite vulnerability analysis scheme available to cities. This paper proposes an integrative vulnerability identification method for urban road networks, which mainly relates to the vulnerability connotation and characteristics analysis of urban road networks during emergency, and vulnerability comprehensive evaluation indices design based on urban road network connectivity, traffic efficiency and performance, and an empirical study on a vulnerability identification method of an urban road network. In the empirical case, a real road network and traffic operation data were used from Science and Technology Park of Shenzhen City, China. In the context of one certain emergency scenario, the stated preference survey method and maximum likelihood method are used to solve the road users’ random travel choice behavior parameters; subsequently, based on the traffic equilibrium distribution prediction, the traffic vulnerability identification methods of the road network in this region were verified before and after the emergency. The method presented here not only considers the impact of network topology changes on road network traffic function during emergency but also considers the impact of dynamic changes in road network traffic demand on vulnerability; therefore, it is closer to the actual distribution of urban road network traffic vulnerability.

ABSTRACTSangkuriang St.–Kolonel Masturi St. Intersection, Cimahi City often faces the traffic jam because of the high traffic volume. The existing traffic lights are not used because they are considered to be less effective, so the research needs to be done to solve these problems. This research was conducted with using a survey method directly on the road section on each approach and also its intersection at the peak times, specifically at 06.00–08.00 WIB and 16.00–18.00 WIB. The intersection performance was analyzed using the 1997 Indonesian Road Capacity Manual. In the existing conditions, unsignalised intersections obtained the value of Volume Capacity Ratio ( ) of 1.299 and 1.323 in the morning and evening periods, where the value does not meet the requirements, because the value that obtained is more than 0.85. In the signalised intersection case, geometry adjustments must be made, where in this case, we did a trial with increasing the effective width to 4 m, and we achieved the average value of Volume Capacity Ratio ( ) of 0.76 and it met the requirements where the value is less than 0.85.Keywords: unsignalised intersection, signalised intersection, volume capacity ratio.
