The program system of the management of assessment tools for educational process described in the article. The system reduces the time that the teacher spends on the preparation of test materials, allowing you to create a set of assessment documents in a semi-automatic mode. The system implements the ability to create and manage task banks. Each task in the bank has a set of attributes that are involved in the process of generating assessment documents. The system also implements the ability to automatically generate the required number of variants of the assessment documents. At the same time, the algorithm for generating a set of assessment documents works in such a way that, on the one hand, one set includes the most similar variants of assessment documents in structure, and on the other hand, each assessment document in the set is unique. The algorithm for generating a set of assessment documents is based on the clustering algorithm for categorical data. In this paper a modification of the CLOPE algorithm was submitted, which allows you to automatically determine the required number of clusters, depending on the input data. Also, this modification solves the problem of small clusters and the problem of categorical clustering of numerical attributes. The paper also describes an iterative algorithm for the generation of a set of assessment documents.

In this paper, a data clustering method named consensus fuzzy k-modes clustering is proposed to improve the performance of the clustering for the categorical data. At the same time, the coupling DNA-chain-hypergraph P system is constructed to realize the process of the clustering. This P system can prevent the clustering algorithm falling into the local optimum and realize the clustering process in implicit parallelism. The consensus fuzzy k-modes algorithm can combine the advantages of the fuzzy k-modes algorithm, weight fuzzy k-modes algorithm and genetic fuzzy k-modes algorithm. The fuzzy k-modes algorithm can realize the soft partition which is closer to reality, but treats all the variables equally. The weight fuzzy k-modes algorithm introduced the weight vector which strengthens the basic k-modes clustering by associating higher weights with features useful in analysis. These two methods are only improvements the k-modes algorithm itself. So, the genetic k-modes algorithm is proposed which used the genetic operations in the clustering process. In this paper, we examine these three kinds of k-modes algorithms and further introduce DNA genetic optimization operations in the final consensus process. Finally, we conduct experiments on the seven UCI datasets and compare the clustering results with another four categorical clustering algorithms. The experiment results and statistical test results show that our method can get better clustering results than the compared clustering algorithms, respectively.

Abstract The Educator as a Manager. A Critical View In the following article tasks and motifs of the educator as manager are described. It is clear that there are other educator metaphors and associated behaviors. To some extent, the actions of the different educator metaphors overlap, but they differ in their purpose and perspective on the educational process and the person to be educated. First, a short time diagnosis is made, which describes the context of this metaphor of the educator as manager. Subsequently, on the one hand, the various motifs, tasks and objectives of an educator as manager are discussed. On the other hand, it is asked if it is possible in the current discourse to take a different perspective on the educational process.

Abstract Objective Eritrea is the most frequent country of origin among asylum seekers in Switzerland. On their journey through the desert and across the Mediterranean Sea, Eritrea refugees are often exposed to traumatizing experiences. The aim of this study is to assess the mental health status and resilience of Eritrean migrants in Switzerland upon arrival and one-year post-arrival, using standardized mental health screening and resilience assessment tools. Results At baseline, 107 refugees (11.2% female, median age 25) were interviewed: 52 (48.6%) screened positive for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (score ≥ 30), 10.3% for anxiety (≥ 10) and 15.0% for depression (≥ 10); 17.8% scored as risk/hazardous drinkers (≥ 8). The majority (94.4%) had a high resilience score (≥ 65). For one-year follow-up, 48 asylum seekers could be reached. In interviews 18 (38%) of these reported imprisonment in a transit country and 28 (58%) that they had witnessed the death of a close person along the migration route. At the one year assessment, rates of risky/hazardous alcohol use remained unchanged, rates of positive PTSD screening tended to be lower (50.0% (24/48) at baseline vs 25.0% (12/48) at follow-up), as were rates of positive screening for anxiety (8.3% vs 4.2%) and depression (14.6 vs 6.3%).

One-hot encoding is the prevalent method used in neural networks to represent multi-class categorical data. Its success stems from its ease of use and interpretability as a probability distribution when accompanied by a softmax activation function. However, one-hot encoding leads to very high dimensional vector representations when the categorical data’s cardinality is high. The Hamming distance in one-hot encoding is equal to two from the coding theory perspective, which does not allow detection or error-correcting capabilities. Binary coding provides more possibilities for encoding categorical data into the output codes, which mitigates the limitations of the one-hot encoding mentioned above. We propose a novel method based on Zadeh fuzzy logic to train binary output codes holistically. We study linear block codes for their possibility of separating class information from the checksum part of the codeword, showing their ability not only to detect recognition errors by calculating non-zero syndrome, but also to evaluate the truth-value of the decision. Experimental results show that the proposed approach achieves similar results as one-hot encoding with a softmax function in terms of accuracy, reliability, and out-of-distribution performance. It suggests a good foundation for future applications, mainly classification tasks with a high number of classes.

Many mixed datasets with both numerical and categorical attributes have been collected in various fields, including medicine, biology, etc. Designing appropriate similarity measurements plays an important role in clustering these datasets. Many traditional measurements treat various attributes equally when measuring the similarity. However, different attributes may contribute differently as the amount of information they contained could vary a lot. In this paper, we propose a similarity measurement with entropy-based weighting for clustering mixed datasets. The numerical data are first transformed into categorical data by an automatic categorization technique. Then, an entropy-based weighting strategy is applied to denote the different importances of various attributes. We incorporate the proposed measurement into an iterative clustering algorithm, and extensive experiments show that this algorithm outperforms OCIL and K-Prototype methods with 2.13% and 4.28% improvements, respectively, in terms of accuracy on six mixed datasets from UCI.

AbstractWith the widely application of cluster analysis, the number of clusters is gradually increasing, as is the difficulty in selecting the judgment indicators of cluster numbers. Also, small clusters are crucial to discovering the extreme characteristics of data samples, but current clustering algorithms focus mainly on analyzing large clusters. In this paper, a bidirectional clustering algorithm based on local density (BCALoD) is proposed. BCALoD establishes the connection between data points based on local density, can automatically determine the number of clusters, is more sensitive to small clusters, and can reduce the adjusted parameters to a minimum. On the basis of the robustness of cluster number to noise, a denoising method suitable for BCALoD is proposed. Different cutoff distance and cutoff density are assigned to each data cluster, which results in improved clustering performance. Clustering ability of BCALoD is verified by randomly generated datasets and city light satellite images.

This paper is built on the following research questions: (i) What are the direct/indirect relationships between Sustainable Development Goal 11 (SDG11) and sustainability protocols? (ii) Could the sustainability protocols constitute a solution towards the achievement of SDG11? We underline that, on the one hand, the SDGs are guidelines to support the development of sustainable policies and thus address all elements that may affect them, and on the other hand, sustainability protocols are assessment tools to promote sustainability-conscious design while remaining focused on the built environment. In the Italian regulatory context, the paper highlights how this difference in terms of focus and scale means that they only overlap and mutually reinforce each other with regard to certain aspects, more related to energy and air pollution issues and less to the social aspects of sustainability. Even if there is not always a direct relationship between the evaluation criteria of the protocols and the indicators of SDG11, it is possible to conclude that the sustainability protocols can facilitate the achievement of the SDG11 targets, acting as a key for the implementation of sustainable cities and helping in structuring the process leading to sustainability in a broader framework.

Background: Despite the success of pharmacist-led interventions to improve medication adherence, pharmacists’ perspectives of these interventions are unknown. Our objective was to understand the pharmacists’ perspectives of a successful multifaceted intervention to improve medication adherence after acute coronary syndrome (ACS) hospitalization. Methods: We ascertained pharmacist perspectives’ through qualitative inquiry that included an open-ended survey, semi-structured interviews, and a focus group with the four pharmacists who participated in the intervention. Transcripts of surveys and interviews were analyzed using a content analysis approach. The intervention components included: 1) patient education; 2) assessment tools for potential medication adherence barriers; 3) collaborative care; and 4) automated medication refill reminders and educational messages. Pharmacists’ perspectives on each of these components were evaluated. Results: The pharmacists felt the intervention could be sustained in routine clinical care and identified key themes that facilitated intervention success. Pharmacists believed educating patients about their cardiovascular medications filled a gap in usual care. In addition, assessment tools that identified medication discrepancies and gaps in knowledge were helpful in tailoring patient education, while face-to-face conversations were more helpful in identifying mental and cognitive deficits that were barriers to adherence. Pharmacists also noted that the intervention led to the development of bi-directional relationships with patients through increased in-person and tele-health communication. As a result, poor adherence related to medication side effects was more readily addressed. Potential areas for improvement identified by the pharmacists included 1) emphasizing in-person visits to build relationships (begin the educational process while the patient is hospitalized and schedule both the follow-up clinic appointment and pharmacy visit at the same time); 2) utilizing the patient centered medical home concept to improve access to providers; 3) allowing sites to determine provider type to support the personal contact (i.e. pharmacist, nurse practitioner, registered nurse); and 4) employing interactive voice response (IVR) technology to facilitate communication. Conclusions: Pharmacists’ perspectives of a medication adherence intervention gave insights into reasons for the intervention success and suggestions for improvements and dissemination. We found that in-person meetings between pharmacists and patients led to bi-directional conversations and relationships with providers, which positively influenced patient adherence behavior. Future interventions designed to improve medication adherence should incorporate these pharmacist-identified factors.

The purpose of this research is to study the need for the students' communication activity component at the Pharmaceutical faculty of VSMU. Dual feature of the levels indicators dynamics in the need for communication is revealed. On the one hand, there is a tendency to reduce the average level in the need for communication and to increase its high level at the expense of girls. On the other hand, there is a fairly significant increase in the average level in the need for communication among young men against the background of an obvious predominance of the average level in the need for communication among the students of the entire sampling. The study allows us to state obvious influence of the informational educational environment at VSMU on the personal growth of students at the Pharmaceutical faculty, on the formation of their communicative competence as the most important component of the professional competence of future pharmacists. The results of the study can be used in the educational process of VSMU, in the activities of the social and pedagogical and psychological service, in the work of educators in academic groups and for tutors.

This paper examines the peculiarities of teaching German as a second foreign language in a railway university. The analysis emphasizes the inefficiency of traditional methods and the success of the bilingual approach, which consists in a harmonious combination of methodological principles of teaching the first and second foreign languages. The authors carry out a theoretical analysis of the fundamental principles of teaching a second foreign language: a comparative approach, the principle of reliance on the first foreign and native languages, an autonomous approach, a cognitive principle. The paper deals with the issues related to interference and transfer in teaching a second foreign language. Project methods (simulation, presentation speech, Lapbook-technology) tested by the author in the learning process are offered as learning technologies, the use of which facilitates effective mastering of foreign language skills and abilities. The syllabus of the course A Second Foreign language developed by teachers of the Rostov State Transport University in accordance with the new edition of the Federal State Educational Standard is analyzed. The conclusion is made that this syllabus satisfies the requirements put forward by methodologists to the process of teaching a second foreign language. The analysis of the organization of the educational process with the use of textbooks and a fund of assessment tools prepared for the course is expected to be the subject of our further research.
