The effectiveness of blended learning of “substance” unit in the science curriculum in terms of developing achievement and skills of scientific thinking in primary school students: فعالية التعلم المتمازج لوحدة المادة بمنهج العلوم في تنمية التحصيل ومهارات التفكير العلمي لدى طلاب المرحلة الابتدائية

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of blended learning of “substance” unit in the science curriculum in terms of developing achievement and skills of scientific thinking in fifth grade students. The researcher used the two methods; Descriptive: to collect the necessary and semi-experimental metadata, the tool was an achievement test. And a scale of scientific thinking skills for the fifth grade curriculum. Both tools were applied to a sample of 63 students in the fifth grade, divided into two groups: experimental group 32 students, and control group 31 female students. After the processing of the statistical data, the following results were shown: Five basic skills of scientific thinking were identified, which can be developed in the unit of “substance” in the science curriculum which are: feeling the problem and defining it, setting hypotheses, testing hypotheses, interpretation and generalization. The unit was prepared using blended learning strategy for the fifth grade for the year 1435/1436 AH, and validity of the guide was checked. There are also statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α 0.05 0.05) between the mean scores of the students of the two groups; experimental and control in the post-application of the scale of scientific thinking skills in favor of the experimental group. Also, there are significant differences between the average scores of the experimental group in the two post- In the skills of scientific thinking for the benefit of the post-application, and found a positive correlative relationship function; (0.81); between the level of achievement of students and their level of scientific thinking in the post-application. In the light of the results of the research, the researcher recommends experimenting teaching the unit of “substance” using blended learning strategy with other samples of the students of the fifth grade, and preparing various teaching units of science curricula in different classes in the light of blended learning and providing internet access for teachers. As well as training teachers of science in the primary stage on using blended teaching, and the use of the scale of scientific thinking skills, and finally; studying school environment at various educational stages with appropriate tools and methods to teach science curricula in the light of blended learning.

This study aimed to examine the impact of the use of self-questioning in the understanding of fifth grade students in mathematics material. The researcher used the experimental methodology for independent groups to investigate the impact of the independent variable, which is a self-questioning strategy on the dependent variable, which is understanding. The study sample consisted of 42 students from the fifth grade students from Khubayb bin Udai School in Riyadh; equally divided into two groups of 21 students in each group (experimental and control), and after making sure from groups' equivalence by applying the tools of the study, having been taught the experimental group by using self-questioning strategy, while the control group has been studied the unit by using the traditional method. After the completion of the study of prescribed content study, study tools (achievement test) were applied then. The results indicated to the presence of a statistically significant difference (at the significance level <0. 05) between the mean scores of the two groups' students (experimental and control) in achievement test posttest for the experimental group. Since the results of the study were positive in increasing the achievement, the researcher recommended the need to use self-questioning to raise the level of achievement of learners in mathematics material

<p>The purpose of this study is to obtain a profile of students’ creative thinking skills on quantitative project-based protein testing using local materials. Implementation of the research is using quasi-experimental method pre-test post-test control group design with 40 students involved in Biochemistry lab. The research instrument is pre-test and post-test using creative thinking skills in the form of description and students’ questionnaire. The analysis was performed with SPSS 22.0 program to see the significance normality, U Mann-Whitney test for nonparametric statistics, N-Gain score, and the percentage of student responses to the practicum performed. The research result shows that the pretest rate in the experimental group is 8.25 while in the control group is 6.90. After attending a project-based practicum with local materials, the experimental group obtained the mean of posttest is 37.55 while in control class is 11.18. The students’ improvement on creative thinking skills can be seen from the average of N-Gain in the experimental class with 0.32 (medium category) and in the control category with 0.05 (low category). The experimental and control class have different creative thinking skills significantly different fluency, flexibility, novelty, and detail. It can be concluded that quantitative project-based protein testing using local materials can improve students’ creative thinking skills. 71% of total students feel that quantitative project-based protein testing using local materials make them more creative in doing a practicum in the laboratory.</p>

This study aimed at investigating of the effect of using word family game committed by the fifth grade student in SD Negeri 1 Astina in mastering the English vocabulary. This study was True-Experimental with post-test only control group design. The population was 59 students of the fifth grade and the sample was selected by using cluster random sampling. The sample of this research study was 22 students in 5A as an Experimental Group while 22 students in 5B as a Control Group. The experimental group was taught by using Word Family Game and control group was taught without using Word Family Game. The data was analyzed descriptively and inferentially through SPSS 16.0 Program. Descriptively, the students in experimental group were achieved better than the students in control group. It was proven by the result of the mean score of the experimental group was 90.45, while the mean score of control group was 83.18. The result of the t-test also showed that the score of the (tobs) was 3.393 which the score of (tcv) was 1.682 which based on the degree of freedom was 42. It showed that the (tobs) > (tcv), where: 3.393 > 1.682. It could be concluded that the word family game had a significant effect on the students’ vocabulary mastery rather than using conventional teaching.

This study aimed to identify the effectiveness of flipped learning strategy using pen tablet in the achievement and motivation towards mathematics among tenth grade female students in Wadi Al-Seer district. The study used a Quasi-experimental design, Where the study was applied to a sample of (93) female students from the tenth grade, it was divided into (48) female students in the experimental group and (45) female students in the control group. The experimental group was taught using a flipped learning strategy by activating the pen tablet, while the control group studied in the traditional way. The Study tools were used achievement test and Motivation scale for learning mathematics. The results of the study showed a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (α = 0.05) between the mean achievement of female students in mathematics in the two experimental and control groups on the post test for the benefit of the experimental group students who studied using the flipped learning strategy using the pen tablet, where the arithmetic mean reached (15.96) of (20), The results also showed a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (α = 0.05) in the scores of the motivation scale towards mathematics between the experimental and control groups on the dimensional scale in favor of the experimental group students who studied using the flipped learning strategy using the pen tablet, where the arithmetic mean reached (2.89) From (3.) the differences were in favor of the experimental group. In light of the results of the study; it recommends the use of the flipped learning strategy by activating the pen tablet tool in teaching math for the tenth grade, and further research into the use of the pen tablet in teaching other educational materials and for other educational stages.

The research aims at identifying the effect of the Fink model in the achievement of the psychology principles of the fifth grade students and their mental motivation. The experimental design of the experimental and control groups was used. The researcher randomly selected Division B to represent the experimental group that is taught according to the Fink model, (A) The control group studying the traditional method, the number of female students (60) students by (30) students in each division. The two groups were equalized in the variables: age, intelligence, mental motivation. The researcher prepared the research tool which is the achievement test and verified the validity and reliability of the test, the adoption of the mental motivation scale and the testing of the psychometric characteristics. The researcher used the T-test for two independent data processing , The results showed the superiority of the experimental group in achievement and mental motivation via the control group

This study aims at investigating the effect of Blended Learning approach compared to the traditional learning approach on fifth grade students’ achievement in My Beautiful Language Textbook and the development of their verbal creative thinking. The study consisted of 49 students among which 25 are males in the Experimental Group and 24 females in the Control Group. The study found a statistical significant difference (α ≤ 0.05) between the mean scores of the two study groups in achievement posttest and verbal creative thinking post application test. The experiment group which was taught using the blended approach of learning outperformed the Control Group in both tests. Thus, learning My Beautiful Language Textbook using the blended approach is more effective than the traditional method in terms of achievement and the development of verbal creative thinking skills. In light of this, the study recommends the adoption of blended approach in learning My Beautiful Language Textbook, the curriculum computerization, holding series of training courses, and workshops for teachers in school districts on how to effectively implement the blended approach.

This study examined the effectiveness of the flipped classroom learning strategy on student’s motivation, discipline and learning results on the classroom action research subject. The research subject consists of 66 students grouped into experimental and control groups which were taught separately by using the flipped classroom learning strategy and a conventional discussion strategy. Flipped classroom learning strategy with technology has a significant positive effect on student’s motivation, discipline and learning results. It can be concluded that the experimental group of students taught by flipped classroom strategy is better than the control group in all three domains.

This study investigates the effect of the 5E Instructional strategy on the development of critical thinking skills of intermediate third graders through Jurisprudence course compared to the normal way of teaching. In order to achieve this goal the researcher adopted a pre- post two- group (experimental and control) quasi- experimental research methodology. The tool of the study was a critical thinking skills test based on Mary McFarland's strategy. After the validation and calculation of the tool's reliability, the researcher piloted the tool at a random sample consisting of (63) female intermediate third graders in thirtieth Medina School. The study used a number of appropriate statistical analyses which included: means of scores, standard deviation, alpha Cronbach coefficient reliability test of critical thinking skills, and T- test for independent samples to ensure group homogeneity of study groups, and to see the effect of using the 5E Instructional strategy on developing the critical thinking skills of the students. The obtained results indicated that there are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (a = 0.05) between the mean scores of experimental group and control group students in the critical thinking skills test in favor of the experimental group. In the light of these results, a number of recommendations have been made, namely: religious science teachers should be supervised towards more attention to the development of critical thinking skills; paying attention to the involvement of the student in the learning process; encouraging students to express their opinions and being able to defend their point of view in order to increase the level of critical thinking skills and finally to employ the 5E Instructional strategy in teaching jurisprudence course. Based on the findings of the study, a group of suggestions for future studies have been made that can be considered as extension to the current study.

This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of an educational program based on constructive learning model (CLM) in acquiring and developing scientific concepts the skills of scientific thinking among the female students of the eighth grade in the directorate of education in Al-Mazar Al-Janoubi for the academic year (2020-2021). The study used the quasi approach, where a random sample was selected from the study population that consisted of all the female students of the eighth grade, with a total of (910) female students, while the purposive sample consisted of (57) female students and was randomly distributed to two groups: the experimental group and control group. The study instrument included the test of acquiring scientific concepts, with (32) multiple-choice items and the test of scientific thinking skills, with (30) multiple-choice items distributed to five skills (determining the problem, collecting data, determining hypotheses, testing hypotheses, concluding results); their validity and reliability were verified. The researcher developed the educational program, represented by a number of educational activities in the two units of (living beings and their environment, and motion) from the science textbook of the eighth grade, based on the constructive learning model (CLM). The program consisted of (32) periods and was applied to the experimental group during the academic year (2020-2021). The study results showed that the program, which is based on the constructive learning model (CLM) was effective in promoting the students' acquisition of the scientific concepts and developing their scientific thinking skills, where the mean scores for the experimental group were higher than the control group. The study recommended conducting further experimental studies for similar educational programs that include samples from other educational stages and other textbooks.

The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of using inquiry and brainstorming strategies in teaching Arabic language for developing achievement and creative thinking skills of the university students. To achieve the previous objective, a teaching manual was prepared using inquiry and brainstorming strategies. Achievement test was prepared including 20 items multiple chooses questions related to knowledge, application and reasoning levels. In addition, creative thinking skills test was prepared including 10 items related to Fluency, flexibility and originality skills. The validity and reliability of the instruments were measured. The sample was selected randomly; it consists of two groups, experimental group 43 and a control group 39. The study was based on semi-experimental design pre&mdash;post-test, where the experimental group was taught using inquiry and brainstorming strategies, but the control group was taught using the usual strategies. The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences between the average scores of the experimental and control groups in the post achievement and creative thinking skills in general and their skills separately for the students of the experimental group. Also, the results showed a positive correlation between the scores of the experimental group in post creative thinking skills, and post achievement test in general. The effectiveness of inquiry and brainstorming strategies in the development of achievement levels and creative thinking skills was significant effect. The study recommended using the Inquiry and brainstorming strategies in the teaching Arabic language of university students.
