The economic returns to education are well documented. It is also well-known that college graduates with certain majors will earn more than others and find it easier to land a job. But surprisingly, the courses students take in high school also make a difference, when the courses are mathematics. Even among workers with the same level of education, those with more math have higher wages on average and are less likely to be unemployed. These findings suggest that even students ending their formal education after high school can increase their future earnings by investing in more math courses while in high school.

Abstract We show that cohorts of male graduates who start college during worse economic times earn higher average wages than those who start during better times. This is not explained by differences in selection into employment, economic conditions at graduation, or field of study choices. Graduates who enrol in bad times are not more positively selected based on their high-school outcomes, but they achieve higher college grades and earn higher wages conditional on their grades. Patterns for female graduates are similar, though less robust. Our results suggest that individuals who enrol during downturns exert more effort during their studies.

Manufacturing employment has declined since the 1970s, while the number of jobs requiring a college degree has risen. The shift has reshaped the environment in which many young people grow up and pursue their educations, potentially affecting the level of education they attain. This analysis uses the National Longitudinal Surveys of Youth to investigate the relationship between industrial composition and the educational attainment of children whose parents have only a high school education or less. The results show that the educational attainment of these youths is correlated with the region's industrial mix, though in ways that may seem somewhat surprising.

This study uses fieldwork (Field Research), with a population of 150 students / i Prodi Counseling third semester of the academic year 2014/2015, which was divided into two groups: the experimental group (students who are high school level of education their parents / S1) totaled 30 people, and the control group (students whose parents education level SD) numbered 30 people. The results showed that no significant relationship between the level of formal education of parents on student achievement guidance and counseling courses Teachers' Training College PGRI Pontianak. This is shown by the price of "t" arithmetic (0.487) is less than the price of "t" of criticism, both at the 5% significance level (2.01) as well as on the significance of 1% (2.68). This means the hypothesis Alternative (Ha) rejected that there is significant between formal education level of parents on student achievement, and on the contrary hypothesis Nil (Ho) filed unacceptable that no significant relationship between the level of formal education of parents on achievement student learning. So it can be concluded that the level of education among students high school parents with a college education level of parents SD no difference in academic achievement.

The dynamics of several demographic indicators of Russia - child and teenage cohorts in 1970-2000, life expectancy in 1995-2000, migration flows among federal districts in the period between two censuses of 1989 and 2002 - are considered in the article. The author puts forward the hypothesis about the influence of these indicators on the level of education in narrow and broad senses - in educational institutions and the society as a whole. He estimates the perspectives of regional higher educational institutions under conditions of absence of plan distribution of graduates and the double cyclical fall in the number of high school graduates. The agenda for the development of a two-stage system of higher education corresponding with international integration processes is formulated.

Unemployment is one of the economic problems in Indonesia. Judging from the level of education that was completed there were unemployment from the level of college graduates. This encourages the level of competition in getting jobs to be more stringent, so that college graduates (bachelor of Statistics in IPB) must have the preparation of various factors to maintain the quality of their graduates. The quality of college graduates can be seen from the length of time waiting to get a job. This study aims to determine the influential factors in getting a job for graduates of the IPB Statistics degree, so that the CHAID method can be used in this study. The results of CHAID's analysis in this study in the form of tree diagrams using α = 10% explained that the factors influencing the waiting period variables were sex, internship, and the ability to master statistical software, where the accuracy value generated by the classification model was 79.3 %.

This study has several objectives first prove a significant difference in understanding of the assets, liabilities and capital between the students from SMK Accounting Department, High School and Madrasah Aliyah Department of Public IPS IPS majors. Prior to hypothesis testing performed prior sample collection is 68 students who have graduated from vocational secondary education level majoring in Accountancy, SMA study of majoring of IPS science Madrasah Aliyah common in college majoring in social studies at the Bung Hatta University of Padang. Type of data used are obtained through deployment of primary questionnaire. Variable study is a basic understanding of accounting concepts consisting of cash, liabilities and capital, while the distinguishing dimension is the level of formal education of students in the past. The process of hypothesis testing is done by using a statistical test that is using the Kruskal Walls. Based on the results of testing the first hypothesis of no difference in the understanding of accounting students from vocational education majoring in accounting, SMA students and Madrasah Aliyah major of IPS science. in understanding the basic concepts of accounting view of the assets. The second hypothesis found differences in the understanding of accounting students from vocational education majoring in accounting, high school social studies department, and public Madrasah Aliyah Department the major of IPS science of the basic concepts of accounting in view of the obligation. The third hypothesis found no differences in accounting students' understanding of vocational education majoring in accounting, SMA student, and Madrasah Aliyah general social studies department of the basic concepts of accounting view of capital.
