The major trust of this study was to examine the academic achievement of pahari students in
relation to their mental health. The present study was carried-out on sample of 200 pahari
students selected from 6 secondary schools of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir through
stratified random sampling technique. Mental health scale developed by Dr. Mercy Abraham and Dr. K.C. Baby Prasanna was used to collect required information, while the total marks obtained by the students in the previous class were used as an achievement criterion. Two statistical techniques like Pearson’s product moment method and ‘t’ test were used to analyze the data. The study shows that there is a positive correlation between academic achievement and mental health of students. The result of the study further revealed significant differences between boys and girls as well as rural and urban students in regard to their mental health. On the basis of these findings some suggestions both for practice and further studies have been put forward by the author.

This study aims to measure the level of teacher practice in teaching the subject of Maharat al-Quran Integrated Curriculum Tahfiz (KBT). A total of 621 teachers were made respondents in this study. This study is in the form of a cross-sectional survey involving teachers from KBT secondary schools throughout Malaysia. While the sampling method of this study uses stratified random sampling method. Data were analyzed using IBM Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software version 25.0 Descriptively to determine the mean value, standard deviation and percentage. The findings of the study show that the level of teacher practice in teaching the subject of Maharat al-Quran KBT is at a high level. In conclusion, this study successfully highlights the uniqueness of the findings that teachers in secondary schools who implement KBT practice well the teaching of tajwid law, manners of the Quran, recitation, knowledge of Qiraat, practice of Qiraat and Rasm Uthmani in the subject of Maharat al-Quran. The science of tajwid is the main teaching emphasized by the teacher to enable students to learn the Quran. The implication is that tahfiz teachers have a role to teach Quranic skills because teachers are the driving force behind a built curriculum.

Aerial surveys using stratified random sampling were used to estimate the numbers of red kangaroos, Megaleia rufa (Desmarest), on about 4000 square miles of central Australia, once during drought, and again 6 months later after good rains had fallen. Sampling involved varying width of transects along their lengths to suit viewing conditions over various types of vegetation. The method of statistical analysis is provided. The number of kangaroos on an area depended on the availability of green herbage and shady trees. During the drought, kangaroos congregated near open plains and watercourses where green grass (Eragrostis setifolia and Astrebla pectinata) persisted; they reached densities of eight-nine per square mile. After the rains, they dispersed into the surrounding woodlands where green herbage was temporarily abundant. There were never many kangaroos on spinifex tracts which have few shady trees. The kangaroos' nomadism is thus linked with their search for food and shelter. The tendency for kangaroos to cluster was highly correlated with their density on an area. The total numbers of kangaroos on 2642 square miles of the study area changed from 3927 during the drought to 4914 after the rain, probably as a result of immigration. The environment of kangaroos is ameliorated by cattle cropping the long dry grass of the open plains, causing it to sprout green shoots. Large areas where kangaroos can find food during drought have thus been provided for them.

Burhān al-Dīn al-Zarnūjī in his treatise Ta'līm al-Muta'allim Ṭorīq al-Ta'allum informed that the academic achievement has six things dependency: ingenious acumen (intelligences), fervent desire (motivation), patience (when find difficulties), sufficent sustenance (to complete learning), guidance of a teacher (through learning), and length of time (intensively). Based on this perspective, we was empirically tested students scientific literacy through correlational research. In particular, first, multiple intelligences was examined based on Multiple Intelligences Survey (MIS). Second, science learning motivation was explored used Science Motivation Questionnaire II (SMQ-II). Third, scientific literacy was tested that focused on competence domain and environmental content. The participants of the study were 128 secondary students in Kabupaten Kudus choosen by random sampling technique. We used Pearson r to elaborate relation of scientific literacy with each type of multiple intelligences nor component of science learning motivation. It reveals that naturalistic intelligence and self-efficacy has strong correlation with scientific literacy. The findings suggest that it is important to facilitate students’ intelligence and motivations to guide them on achieving scientific literacy.

This study discusses (1) the differences between the students’ interlanguage and standard American English pronunciation, and (2) the patterns of phonetic shift from the Standard American English into the students’ Interlanguage Pronunciation. The participants of this research were English Department students, the year of 2015, at Andalas University and were selected by using stratified random sampling with academic achievement as the criteria in choosing the sample. The data were collected by using picture description task and analyzed by using Markedness Differential Hypothesis (MDH) by Eckman (1977) where the markedness relation among the sounds were found by using Markedness Hierarchy by Lombardi (1995, 1998). The result of the analysis showed that the most frequent errors that the participants made were the pronunciation of [ð], [θ], and [v] where the participants replaced [ð] with [d],[θ] with [t], and [v] with [f]. The difficulties of the participants were mostly in line with Eckman’s MDH.
