<p>This thesis examines the poetry of John Keats through an exploration of his attitude towards reading. Keats's reading is characterized by openness, receptivity, and crucially, response. The first chapter explores the dynamics of this by analyzing some early sonnets about his reading within the greater context of this thought as he lays it out in his letters. For Keats, the poetic process, which includes both reading and writing, is an organic one. The second chapter considers his mediated reading, looking first at the Chapman's Homer sonnet as a celebration of translation and the social reading experience. This leads into a greater exploration of Keats's friendships and sociability, which are not only fundamental to him, but which also play an important role in his reading and poetry. The chapter considers the dialogue that occurs within Keats's marginalia, with his friends, and with the books and authors he reads. This dialogue illustrates Keats's positive relationship with mediation and influence. The theatre in particular is a site of sociability and adaptation, and, for Keats it is also a platform for poetic voice. The third chapter expands on the importance of the aural experience of reading for Keats, primarily through an examination of "mistiness," a term Keats uses to describe a positive mediated reading experience in a letter to John Hamilton Reynolds. Keatsian mist is a state of mind which, while obscuring one sense -usually visual - amplifies the aural sense and imagination. The fourth chapter comprises an analysis of Keats's poetry of 1819 in order to explore questioning as a creative mode of reading, and silence as an ideal site for the growth of the creative imagination. "To Autumn" presents the culmination of Keats's reading in an affirmation of his own poetic voice.</p>

This book examines the relationship between our deontic notions, rightness and wrongness, and our responsibility notions, praise- and blameworthiness. The book presents a pluralistic view of both our deontic concepts and our responsibility concepts, identifying three different ways to be blameworthy. First, ordinary blameworthiness is essentially connected to subjective rightness and wrongness. Subjective obligation and ordinary blameworthiness apply only to those who are within our moral community, that is to say, those who understand and share our value system. By contrast, the second sort of blameworthiness, detached blameworthiness, can apply even when the agent is outside our moral community, and has no sense that her act is morally wrong. We blame agents for acting objectively wrongly, even if we do not have any view about their state of mind in so doing. Finally, the third sort of blameworthiness is ‘extended blameworthiness’, which applies in some contexts where the agent has acted wrongly, and understands the wrongness, but has acted wrongly entirely inadvertently. In such cases the agent is not personally at fault but the social context may be such that she should take responsibility, and thus become blameworthy.

Manusia adalah mahkluk sosial dengan tipe kepribadian yang berbeda-beda. Setiap individu selalu berhubungan dengan orang lain meski berbeda cara dan intensitasnya. Kecenderungan ini dikenal sebagai kebutuhan afiliasi. Kebutuhan ini melekat pada tiap individu termasuk yang berkepribadian introvert. Ada banyak cara dan media yang dapat digunakan untuk memuaskan kebutuhan ini. Jaringan sosial Facebook adalah salah satunya. Kebiasan mengakses jaringan sosial ini diduga dapat menimbulkan ketagihan dan ketergantungan. Tujuan peneilitian ini adalah mengetahuai keterkaitan antara introversi kepribadian dengan ketergantungan terhadap facebook. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa UNISSULA dengan sampel sebanyak 167 yang diambil secara proporsional.Data ketergantungan terhadap facebook diukur dengan menggunakan skala yang disusun berdasar karakteristik dari Young dan skala afilisasi dari Murray untuk mengukur kebutuhan afiliasi. Data introversi kepribadian diukur dengan skala introversi kepribadian dari Jung.  Ada tiga hipotesis yang akan diuji. Pertama adalah ada keterkaitan antara kebutuhan afiliasi dan introversi kepribadian dengan ketergantungan terhadap facebook. Kedua adalah ada hubungan positif antara kebutuhan afiliasi dengan ketergantungan terhadap facebook dan ketiga adalah ada hubungan positif antara introversi kepribadian dengan ketergantungan terhadap fecbook. Analisis data dilakukan dengan teknik statistic regresi ganda.Hasil analisis menunjukan besarnya Koefisien regresi ganda R = 0.278, F = 6.863 dan p = 0.001 (p < 0.01) yang berarti ada hubungan yang signifikan antara kebutuhan afiliasi dan introversi kepribadian dengan ketergantungan terhadap facebook.  Uji hipotesis kedua menunjukan ry1 = - 0.163 (p = 0.036) yang beratri hipotesis kedua ditolak sedangkan uji hipotesis ketiga menunjukan Ry2 = 0.189 dan p = 0.015 (p < 0.05) yang berarti hipotesis ketiga diterima. Kata Kunci :   introversi kepribadian, kebutuhan afiliasi, ketergantungan facebook.  THE NEED OF AFFILIATION, INTROVERSION OF PERSONALITY, AND FACEBOOK ADDICTION AMONG UNIVERSITY STUDENTS Abstract Human are social beings that have personality type. Each individual is always in relationship with others, although in different manner and intensity. This tendency is called the need of affiliation. This need is necessary for everyone include persons with an introversion personality, who focus on the inside world and observe the outside world selectively according to their own point of view. There are many ways and media can be used to satisfy this need. One of the most widely used today is the social network facebook. Facebook’s function related to the fulfillment of need which related to an individual, can lead to an addiction. The purpose of this research was to know the relationship between the need of affiliation and introversion personality with facebook addiction. Populations in this research were students in UNISSULA with 167 samples which were determined based on the proportional sampling technique.This research used facebook addiction scale based on Young’s characteristic, Murray’s need of affiliation’s scale, and introversion personality’s scale based on Jung’s characteristic. The first hypothesis was that there is relationship between the need of affiliation and introversion personality with facebook addiction. The second hypothesis was that there is positive relationship between the need of affiliation and facebook addiction; and the third hypothesis was that there is positive relationship between introversion personality and facebook addiction.The test of item difference power and reliability used product moment and alpha cronbach’s coefficient. The test hypothesis used regression analysis. Data analysis resulted in R = 0,278, F = 6,863 with p = 0,001 (p<0, 01). This result shows that the first hypothesis was accepted. The second hypothesis analysis result showed ry1 = - 0,163 with p = 0,036 (p<0, 05), this means that the second hypothesis was rejected, while the third hypothesis analysis result showed ry2 = 0,189 with p = 0,015 (p<0, 05) which means the third hypothesis was accepted. Keyword: Need of affiliation, introversion personality, facebook addiction

When interacting on a learning task, which is typical of several academic situations, individuals may experience two different motives: Understanding the problem, or showing their competences. When a conflict (confrontation of divergent propositions) emerges from this interaction, it can be solved either in an epistemic way (focused on the task) or in a relational way (focused on the social comparison of competences). The latter is believed to be detrimental for learning. Moreover, research on cooperative learning shows that when they share identical information, partners are led to compare to each other, and are less encouraged to cooperate than when they share complementary information. An epistemic vs. relational conflict vs. no conflict was provoked in dyads composed by a participant and a confederate, working either on identical or on complementary information (N = 122). Results showed that, if relational and epistemic conflicts both entailed more perceived interactions and divergence than the control group, only relational conflict entailed more perceived comparison activities and a less positive relationship than the control group. Epistemic conflict resulted in a more positive perceived relationship than the control group. As far as performance is concerned, relational conflict led to a worse learning than epistemic conflict, and - after a delay - than the control group. An interaction between the two variables on delayed performance showed that epistemic and relational conflicts were different only when working with complementary information. This study shows the importance of the quality of relationship when sharing information during cooperative learning, a crucial factor to be taken into account when planning educational settings at the university.

This article offers a ‘post-heritage’ reading of both iterations of Upstairs Downstairs: the LondonWeekend Television (LWT) series (1971–5) and its shortlived BBC revival (2010–12). Identifying elements of subversion and subjectivity allows scholarship on the LWT series to be reassessed, recognising occasions where it challenges rather than supports the social structures of the depicted Edwardian past. The BBC series also incorporates the post-heritage element of self-consciousness, acknowledging the parallel between its narrative and the production’s attempts to recreate the success of its 1970s predecessor. The article’s first section assesses the critical history of the LWT series, identifying areas that are open to further study or revised readings. The second section analyses the serialised war narrative of the fourth series of LWT’s Upstairs, Downstairs (1974), revealing its exploration of female identity across multiple episodes and challenging the notion that the series became more male and upstairs dominated as it progressed. The third section considers the BBC series’ revised concept, identifying the shifts in its main characters’ positions in society that allow the series’ narrative to question the past it evokes. This will be briefly contrasted with the heritage stability of Downton Abbey (ITV, 2010–15). The final section considers the household of 165 Eaton Place’s function as a studio space, which the BBC series self-consciously adopts in order to evoke the aesthetics of prior period dramas. The article concludes by suggesting that the barriers to recreating the past established in the BBC series’ narrative also contributed to its failure to match the success of its earlier iteration.

Many evolutionary theorists have enthusiastically embraced human nature, but large numbers of evolutionists have also rejected it. It is also important to recognize the nuanced views on human nature that come from the side of the social sciences. This introduction provides an overview of the current state of the human nature debate, from the anti-essentialist consensus to the possibility of a Gray’s Anatomy of human psychology. Three potential functions for the notion of species nature are identified. The first is diagnostic, assigning an organism to the correct species. The second is species-comparative, allowing us to compare and contrast different species. The third function is contrastive, establishing human nature as a foil for human culture. The Introduction concludes with a brief synopsis of each chapter.

This chapter examines music in the British workplace. It considers whether it is appropriate to see the history of music in the workplace as involving a journey from the organic singing voice (both literal and metaphorical) of workers to broadcast music appropriated by the powerful to become a technique of social control. The chapter charts four key stages in the social history of music in British workplaces. First, it highlights the existence of widespread cultures of singing at work prior to industrialization, and outlines the important meanings these cultures had for workers. Next, it outlines the silencing of the singing voice within the workplace further to industrialization—either from direct employer bans on singing, or from the roar of the industrial noise. The third key stage involves the carefully controlled employer- and state-led reintroduction of music in the workplace in the mid-twentieth century—through the centralized relaying of specific forms of music via broadcast systems in workplaces. The chapter ends with an examination of contemporary musicking in relation to (often worker-led) radio music played in workplaces.

For networks with human-driven vehicles (HDVs) only, pricing with arc-specific tolls has been proposed to achieve minimization of travel times in a decentralized way. However, the policy is hardly feasible from a technical viewpoint without connectivity. Therefore, for networks with mixed traffic of HDVs and connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs), this paper considers pricing in a scenario where only CAVs are charged. In contrast to HDVs, CAVs can be managed as individual vehicles or as a fleet. In the latter case, CAVs can be routed to minimize the travel time of the fleet of CAVs or that of the entire fleet of HDVs and CAVs. We have a selfish user behavior in the first case, a private monopolist behavior in the second, a social planner behavior in the third. Pricing achieves in a decentralized way the social planner optimum. Tolls are not unique and can take both positive and negative values. Marginal cost pricing is one solution. The valid toll set is provided, and tolls are then computed according to two schemes: one with positive tolls only and minimum toll expenditure, and one with both tolls and subsidies and zero net expenditure. Convergent algorithms are used for the mixed-behavior equilibrium (simplicial decomposition algorithm) and toll determination (cutting plane algorithm). The computational experience with three networks: a two-arc network representative of the classic town bypass case, the Nguyen-Dupuis network, and the Anaheim network, provides useful policy insight.
