With the participation of various ecological groups of microorganisms, the processes of humification and mineralization of organic matter of vegetable or animal origin. This article presents data on the quantitative analysis of mixotrophic-synthetic microflora of chernozem soils depending on the types of treatment used. Depending on the type of treatment in the soil, various conditions of density, aeration, and moisture can form, which affect the activity of microbiological processes. Microorganisms of the mixotrophic-synthetic group have a powerful enzymatic apparatus, they participate not only in the mineralization of organic residues, but also in the synthesis of humic substances. In the work, the dynamics of the number of such microorganisms of the mixotrophic-synthetic group as microscopic fungi and actinomycetes is estimated. The experimental options included four types of soil cultivation: deep plowing, shallow plowing, flat-cut tillage and disking. A quantitative account of microorganisms showed that in all variants of the study there was a high degree of soil enrichment as actinomycetes and microscopic fungi. Mathematical data processing did not reveal significant differences between the experimental options.

Abstract The molecular epidemiological relationship among isolates of Salmonella enterica serovar (S.) Saintpaul, which was identified in animals, food, and humans in several EU countries, was investigated. Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) revealed a high degree of genetic diversity (82 XbaI PFGE profiles with 42.6% similarity) among 159 S. Saintpaul isolates from animals (n=91), food of animal origin (n=29), and humans (n=36) in 12 European countries during 2005 to 2009. Most frequent profiles (n=12) comprised almost 50% of the tested isolates. Profiles obtained in isolates from a single source within a particular geographical region or particular period of time were indistinguishable or closely related. Turkeys were confirmed as the major reservoir for S. Saintpaul. Indistinguishable PFGE profiles were identified in up to 19 isolates from turkey breeding and fattening flocks and food over the study period. Other animals, including food and pets, may also contribute to S. Saintpaul spread. International trade of animals and food, as well as travelling contributes to the spread of a specific clone to different geographical areas. Although control programmes in breeding turkey flocks, together with improved biosecurity, may interrupt the major transmission routes, it was concluded that S. Saintpaul will continue to represent a potential threat to human health.

Many agricultural landscapes are characterized by a high degree of heterogeneity and fragmentation. Landscape ecology focuses on the influence of habitat heterogeneity in space and time on ecological processes. Landscape epidemiology aims at applying concepts and approaches originating from landscape ecology to the study of pathogen dynamics at the landscape scale. However, despite the strong influence that the landscape properties may have on the spread of plant diseases, landscape epidemiology has still received little attention from plant pathologists. Some recent methodological and technological progress provides new and powerful tools to describe and analyse the spatial patterns of host–pathogen interactions. Here, we review some important topics in plant pathology that may benefit from a landscape perspective. These include the influence of: landscape composition on the global inoculum pressure; landscape heterogeneity on pathogen dynamics; landscape structure on pathogen dispersal; and landscape properties on the emergence of pathogens and on their evolution.

Abstract The present study aims to examine the effects of habitat fragmentation to find a pattern of forest patches in agricultural landscapes that provide the highest pollination level. For this purpose, using simulated agricultural landscapes, including different forest proportions and degrees of fragmentation, pollination in different scenarios was estimated. We used landscape metrics to measure the landscape composition and configuration of each simulated landscape and estimated their statistical relationship with pollination. Our results showed that the effects of fragmentation on pollination were affected by two significant factors; 1- habitat amount and 2- small patches' capacity to supply pollination. Our results showed that when small patches' capacity in supplying pollination was low, fragmentation decreased pollination. When this capacity was very high, landscapes with a high degree of fragmentation showed higher levels of pollination. There was an exception for habitat amounts less than 0.1 of the entire landscape that increasing edge density, aggregation, and the number of patches, resulted in increasing pollination in all scenarios.

Abstract The experiment is carried out in the conditions of semi-desert flat agricultural landscapes of light chestnut soils. The object of research is a 4-field crop rotation (factor A), variants of the main tillage (factor B) and crops superimposed on the tillage options with the Don-114 seeder (a seeder for direct sowing). The placement of options (A) is sequential and options (B) are arranged in blocks in three tiers. The main soil tillage was carried out by the following tools: mouldboard tillage to the depth of 25-27 cm by plough PN-4-35; non-mouldboard tillage to the depth of 25-27 cm by the tool OCHO-5-40 with the rack “Rancho”; surface one to the depth of 8-10 cm by the tool BDM-4.2, and 4-field grain-fallow crop It was found that a higher content of nutrients is in fallow preferably at non-mouldboard soil treatment, in some years, which has an optimal moisture supply, and control (mouldboard) one in comparison with lower levels of surface soil treatment in all years of the research. The main comparison in the change in nutrients in fallow fields is observed precisely for different methods of soil cultivation.

Qualitative and quantitative composition of parasites from herring (Dolgino population), caspian shad, and big-eyed shad is analyzed on the data of long-term samplings, using traditional methods and determinants for identifcation. The community of parasites has temporal fluctuations associated with changes of habitat conditions, including feeding base for hosts, and depended on biological features of both parasites and their hosts. The basis of the herring parasitofauna is composed by specifc and euryxene species. Monogeneans and intestinal trematodes has a stable high degree of infection. Helminths dangerous for human and epizootically signifcant parasites are recorded sporadically. Hyphae of microscopic fungi are found on the smears-prints of parenchymal organs of herrings with domination of gen. Penicillium. All detected parasites do not cause signifcant clinical deseases in organisms of the investigated species.

From the results of these tests it is clear that both Halicystis and Valonia have a high degree of tolerance for animal peptone, and a very high degree of tolerance for animal proteose and for egg albumen. The products of bacterial growths fostered by these proteins have a deleterious effect upon both species of algae; but, if it were possible to prevent bacterial growth entirely and at the same time supply proper food, it is probable that Halicystis and Valonia would show normal growth indefinitely in the presence of these three colloids. This is not true where exposure is made to yeast nucleic acid dissolved in sea water containing 0.00093 gm. per cc. of NaOH. Valonia is markedly less tolerant of this medium (perhaps of NaOH rather than the colloid used) than Halicystis. Such differential effects, however, reach a high point in the case of the solutions of diphtheria toxin and of edestin. Halicystis has a very high tolerance for diphtheria toxin, and Valonia a very low tolerance. In the case of edestin, the relationship is reversed. Here Halicystis has a very low tolerance, and Valonia a very high tolerance. In fact, it may be said that diphtheria toxin has no appreciable effect upon Halicystis, and edestin a very slight effect upon Valonia; while diphtheria toxin is extremely toxic to Valonia, and edestin is extremely toxic to Halicystis. We can offer no suggestions, at present, as to the way in which these effects are produced. It is probable that the very thin protoplasmic layer of these species, which is certainly no thicker than 8µ, is sufficient to obstruct the passage of proteins having large molecules, like egg albumen, with a degree of efficiency that is extraordinary. In the tests we have reported, areas of from 20 sq. cm. to 40 sq. cm. have been submitted to the action of a relatively high concentration of egg albumen for several days without permitting the passage of sufficient amounts to give definable tests either with Spiegler's or with Tanret's method,— presumably less than 1 part in 250,000. In the tests of the proteins having much smaller molecules (though the size may not be the explanation), there is some probability that the membranes exhibit a little permeability. The peptone and the proteose of animal origin, or biuret-positive substances derived from them, apparently pass the protoplasmic membranes occasionally in quantities sufficient to give biuret tests. The most probable case of protein passage, however, was that of the proteose of the scarlet runner bean, where specific detection of less than 1 part per 80,000 was possible. In this instance the proteose appeared to pass membranes that were healthy and were functioning normally. But since the cells of the algae had to be destroyed in making the tests, one cannot maintain this point. All one can say is that protein passage was indicated in carefully examined cells of both species, where no breaks in the protoplasmic membrane were discernible, and where samples of the treated cells behaved normally after treatment.

The agricultural use of land resources in the dry steppe regions of Northern Kazakhstan has undergone significant changes over the past century and continues to change at the present time. The middle position in the region is occupied by the Akmola region, one of the leading agricultural regions, where 9.3 % of the country’s gross agricultural output is produced. The main branches of agriculture in the region are grain farming and dairy and beef cattle breeding. The study of the change in the ratio of the areas of arable and pasture lands, the changes that have occurred in the state of agricultural landscapes as a result of long-term use is important for the further development of the agricultural industry in the region. Using the example of the Astrakhan district of the Akmola region, typical for the dry steppe zone, an analysis of changes in the structure of agricultural land from 1953 to 2020 was carried out. with the help of a series of digital maps compiled from detailed maps of scientific reference atlases of Northern Kazakhstan in 1964, 1970, remote sensing data of different times, archival materials and data of modern statistics. The resulting maps visualize significant changes in cropland areas within the study area over the past 70 years. Seven main periods were identified, during which the most significant changes in the structure of land use occurred as a result of political, economic and natural factors. During the years of development of virgin and fallow lands, the highest rates of increase in arable land were observed, which continued on a smaller scale until 1990. The period from 1991-1999 characterized by a large-scale reduction of arable land and abandonment of pastures. This was followed by two periods of gradual restoration of the use of arable and rangelands. Compiled comprehensive map of the dynamics of agricultural land use from 1988 to 2020 made it possible to identify spatial and temporal patterns in changes in the structure of agricultural land use, to determine to which specific natural types of lands the abandoned lands belonged and to which restored ones. Spatial analysis showed that over the past 30, more than half of the area’s area has not changed the type of land use. The results obtained are used to select the optimal ratio of arable and pasture lands in the structure of agricultural land use, as well as to develop a strategy for the rational use of agricultural land in the zone of risky farming.

Reflects the results of the stages of the study of bioclimatic and landscape-nanotechnik characteristics of the steppe zone of the North-Western part of the black sea region, as the formation of mosaic agrozootehnice mixed natural agroinnova Genesis. It is recommended to differentiate the dry steppe pjone only the territory South of the interfluve of the Dniester-Dnieper. A retrospective analysis allowed to argue that a significant amount of anthropogenic development in the process of transformation of the steppes into agricultural lands, stimulated a radical break with zonal ecosystems. This transformation of biocenosis occurred against the background of climate aridization and under the influence of anthropogenic actions. A structured approach to analytical generalization allowed to update selected issues and became the basis for the study. The obtained results allowed axiomatic to say about the deterioration of the conditions of existence for the available biotic complex, and also significantly affects the seasonal conditions of existence of rodents in the field of agricultural landscapes, directly and indirectly limiting their population status.
