Student departure monitoring is an Android-based app used to monitor student departure to school. This system runs on parent smartphones so parents can see the existence of students and the app will give a message if the student out of the route path that has been set. Arduino used is arduino uno nano type. Arduino programmed using C language, to monitor the existence of students also required some components such as GSM Module and GPS Module. In testing the user application can monitor the existence of the students through the mobile phone that has been installed the application, before monitoring the departure of parents students are required to enter data coordinates home, coordinate data route and data coordinates of schools entered manually. To get the coordinate data the parent can take it through google Maps. To avoid failure in the use of remote control applications should use Android smartphone version 4.1 Jelly bean to version 6.0 Marshmallow. In the experiments this application can run smoothly with the Android version 4.1 to Android version 6.0 and the results of the questionnaire given to the 30 respondents with 9 questions 75.77% results obtained using Likert-scale calculations, which results obtained a good assessment interval.

Abstract Background Nowadays, smartphone overuse affects massively teenagers and young adults. From 2014 to 2018 in Italy, for the 11-17 years age group, there has been an increase from 79.9% to 85.8% of daily mobile phone users. This project aims to investigate usage prevalence and misuse/addiction of mobile phones in a representative sample of first-grade secondary school students of the Province of Palermo, Italy, carrying out educational interventions to promote a proper and conscious use of smartphone. Materials and Methods An anonymous, standardized and previously validated pre-intervention questionnaire consisting of 39 items on general socio-demographic characteristics, attitudes and habits regarding smartphone usage, was administered online to 10-15 years old students of the Palermo's Province. Moreover, two additional sets of 11 and 15 items contributed to calculate a Misuse and an Addiction Score, respectively. After administration, educational interventions aimed at promoting the correct and conscious use of the smartphone, were carried out. Results A total of 1600 students belonging to 16 schools, responded to the questionnaire. 93% of the sample had a personal smartphone and 84% had a personal profile on at least one social network. About 15% of the sample experienced cyber bullying episodes and 30% accessed to adult content online (38% of parents didn't set parental control on the devices). Overall, 78.3% of the sample showed a moderate to severe misuse and 38.3% a moderate to severe addiction to mobile phones. Conclusions The uncontrolled and unconscious use of smartphones among adolescents exposes to different health risks including psycho-social and cognitive-relational problems. Results obtained demonstrate high levels of misuse and addiction to mobile devices in a representative sample of students in a developed Country, suggesting the need to implement educational interventions and the development of guidelines to encourage a responsible use of smartphones. Key messages The present study highlights an uncontrolled and unconscious use of mobile phones among 11-15 years old aged students in Southern Italy. The implementation of educational intervention at school and the development of guidelines regulating smartphone usage among adolescents, should represent a future global health priority.

This work presents a single chip integrated pulse generator-modulator to be utilized in a short range wireless radio sensors remote control applications. The circuit, which can generate single pulses, modulated in BPSK, OOK, PAM, and also PPM, has been developed in a standard CMOS technology (AMS 0.35 μm). Typical pulse duration is about 1 ns while pulse repetition frequency is until 200 MHz (5 ns "chip" time). The operating supply voltage is ± 2.5 V, while the whole power consumption is about 15 mW. Post-layout parametric and corner analyses have confirmed the theoretical expectations.

In this paper, a design and an implementation on an intelligent guide system based on Android platform is proposed. The hardware of system is based on ARM platform, and the schematics of its main modules such as power, SDRAM are given. Then Android operation system is transplanted on the ARM platform. On this basis, the application software is developed using Eclipse and Android SDK, and it is consisted of three modules: multimedia application, web maps and recording. The module of multimedia application includes audio, picture and video. Web maps can display Google Maps on the device and achieve positioning. The record module has implemented the several normal operation on a record, such as creating, modifying and displaying.

The novel Corona virus has been declared a pandemic due to its high transmissibility rate, influencing human life to its heights. It has affected the psychological and mental health of all people, including the functioning of various sectors. This study is based on a micro-level survey that discusses the pandemic's effect on 600 students pursuing education in secondary and higher secondary levels in Kolkata. The school students’ effect was analysed based on four parameters— school, home, a shift in the medium of education from offline to online, and the effect on the students’ future plans, aims, and ambition. The survey was conducted using a questionnaire, which was comprised of structured and semi-structured questions circulated online among the respondents. The respondents were asked to initially rank the indicators and the variables they considered the most critical cause affecting their studies. The respondents were then asked to rate the indicators on a five-point Likert scale to judge the degree of impact of the variables on the respondents.

The present study deals with the development of remote control system based on the Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) technology for switching the low voltage AC power supply system at residential consumer. Function of this system is to disconnect and reconnect the electricity supply to consumers. The introduction of the GSM technology and particularly the use of hand-held mobile phones has brought the innovative distance communication to remote locations. This utilization of this technology for the remote control of systems and appliances will make life easier, safe and quick from anywhere. GSM module was used for receiving short message service (SMS) from user’s mobile phone that automatically enable the controller to take any further action such as to switch on and off the consumer load at the incoming power supply. The system was integrated with microcontroller and GSM network interface using assembly language. AVR Studio 4 software was utilized to accomplish the integration. The system is activated when user sends the SMS to GSM controller circuit at electric meter consumption panel board. Upon receiving the SMS command, the microcontroller unit then automatically controls the incoming power supply by switching on or off the device according to the user command. In other words, the developed system reads message from the mobile phone and responds to control the devices according to the received message. The system can also give feedback to the user to inform the status of switching operation if such command is received.
