As Asian footwear export progresses and major regional export players skimming economic benefits, it is ever more important for the policy makers and business practitioners to understand major factors affecting footwear export of Pakistan. In this way, the objective of this research paper is to evaluate factors that have a significant impact on footwear export of Pakistan. We took Punjab province as our sampling frame because 90 percent of the footwear export manufacturing organizations are situated in this province. We took a sample of 44 manufacturers purposively from the cities of Lahore, Sialkot and Sheikhopura. Primary data was collected through a questionnaire which was emailed to export directors and managers. Footwear exported to the rest of the world was measured for the year 2015 whereas impact of significant variables was determined through regression analysis. Prerequisites of regression analysis assumption; normality, multicollinearity and autocorrelation were applied to the sample data. The value of R2 was 0.899 suggested that it was strong and reliable model. We found that years of qualification, export experience, ISO certifications, average raw material price, international trade exhibitions were highly significant for footwear export of Pakistan whereas average marketing cost was insignificant factors for footwear export.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to empirically analyze the factors affecting Muslim consumers’ willingness to pay (WTP) for Halal food, products and operations by employing theory of reasoned action.Design/methodology/approachThis study has used quantitative research methodology and collected data from 350 questionnaires from a densely populated city of Pakistan. Partial least squares-structural equation modeling was used to analyze the data.FindingsThe results show that the concerns about Halal, religiosity, perception of usefulness of Halal and product ingredients have a significant impact on WTP for Halal foods, while attitude has an insignificant impact on WTP. Moreover, the extent of demand for Halal certification is significantly affected by WTP.Originality/valueThe study highlighted the concerns of the Muslim consumers with respect to Halalness of the products and operations despite living in a Muslim country. It is recommended that the policy makers, food authorities and health institutions should conduct regular inspections of foods, products and producers’/manufacturers’ operations to ensure that all the procedures from manufacturing of the raw material till the finished goods follow Islamic principles to make them completely Halal.

AbstractAlthough litter prevention has environmental, social and economic benefits, cigarette butts are the most littered item on earth. While there has been vast research into the relationship between different factors affecting consumer behaviour, further research is needed to examine the antecedents of consumer sustainable behaviour. The aim of this study is to test the impact of feared self and landfill awareness on the sustainable behaviour of consumers using a structural equation modelling approach. Primary data of consumers are used to validate the hypothesised model. The findings highlight that feared self has a positive impact on the sustainable behaviour of consumers, while feared-self congruency and landfill awareness do not affect consumer sustainable behaviour. As for the implications, the results can support academics and strategic managers in the design process of sustainable consumer awareness programs to achieve environmental, social and economic benefits in the era of circular economy.

Purpose of the study: to identify the factors affecting the volume of production of motor gasoline. Research methods: analysis and synthesis, systematic approach, as well as methods of correlation and regression analysis. Results of the research: A methodological approach to the use of tools for correlation and regression analysis of the gasoline market is proposed, which includes the following stages: 1) formation of a data array; 2) carrying out correlation analysis, building a correlation matrix, selecting factors into the model using the Correlation tool in the Data Analysis package of MS Excel; 3) conducting a regression analysis, constructing a regression equation, substantiating the obtained dependence using the "Regression" tool in the "Data Analysis" MS Excel package, calculating the elasticity coefficients. It is proposed to use the volume of production of motor gasoline as effective in carrying out the correlation-regression analysis and constructing mathematical models. Among the dependent variables and factors affecting the volume of production of motor gasoline, it is proposed to use variables that characterize four groups of factors: resource (raw material) limitations (the volume of oil production and refining), production capabilities of the industry (through the depth of oil refining and the yield of light oil products that characterize production capacity and set of installations in the industry), price attractiveness of the market (prices of producers and consumers of motor gasoline, world oil prices), export attractiveness (volume and value of exports). Multivariate economic and statistical models of the dependence of the volume of production of motor gasoline on a number of factors have been developed. Based on the results of calculations, a strong correlation was revealed between the volume of production of motor gasoline and the values of primary oil refining, oil production, and export of motor gasoline. The predicted values are located as close as possible to the residual values, which indicates that the resulting regression equation has a high degree of accuracy. Research prospects: the research results can be used to identify significant factors in the development of the motor gasoline market in the Russian Federation.

Forest people land use pratices with economic and ecological orientation have been developed in the vicinity of forest areas. Nevertheless, policy makers view this development as detrimental to the forest it self. Forestry programs directed to accommodate public participation are uniformly designed and implemented, ignoring the physical and social variantion of rural areas. Thus there is a need for research on spatial variation of the social forestry program especially related to its success and impact on welfare. The research is carried out in Yogyakarta speial province employed a survei method and spatial approach. Stratified cluster sampling is used on the basis of variations in physiographic characteristics. Secondary data are also collected in forms of literatures and previous research in the field. Primary data are obtained through a structured interview using a set of questionnaires. Data are analyzed using simple tabulation method as well as statistical techniques.The research shows that in general people forest land use has been sucessfully implemented in the province. It is important to note that a more successfull implementation of people forest land use is found in the private rather than government initiated forest. In the less accessible areas people forest land use activities are much more successfull than in the accessible ones. Social forestry land use in the volcanic slope physiography is much better than that in either undulating or karst areas. Among important factors affecting the success of people forest land use are land ownership, education level, technology, land accessibility and percentage of plant growth. It is also confirmed that accessibility is the most important factor affecting the success of an people forest land use. The research also reveals that people forest land use has been very important in improving the farmers welfare. A composite indicator shows that the welfare of farmers is much improved after the adoption of people forest land use, with the highest achievement is obtained by farmers in the volcanic slopes.

The purpose of this research was to conduct a comparison of the push and pull factors affecting migration between Poland and Romania. The study aimed to find out which among the push and pull factors have a greater effect overall and individually on the migration activities. The study was conducted using primary data collected from migrants in both countries using a structured questionnaire. There were data from 298 and 288 surveys for Poland and Romania, respectively. The push and pull migration framework was applied to guide the study. The model suitability was confirmed satisfactory on validity, reliability and factor analysis. The hypothesis was analyzed and evaluated using multiple regression analysis. The findings of the study indicated that pull factors have a greater influence on migration in these two countries as compared to the push factors. Five out of six (economic, political and social in Poland and economic and political in Romania) pull factors were found significant as compared to two (social in Poland and in Romania) out of six push factors. Pull economic factors were significant determinants of migration in all the countries. Pull political factors were found to have the highest effect in both countries, because they influenced migrants in Romania. Economic factors are the major factors that influence migration, including the hope of finding better jobs and better life in the foreign countries, and these factors should be addressed in the effort to reduce migration. In addition, political issues such as unfair legal system, violent conflicts, underdevelopment, poverty, political instability and corruption should be addressed to control the issue of migration.

Industrialization is a procedure which contributes to the economy of a country and plays a pivotal role in theexpansion of wealth and economic growth of a community. Textile industry has acted as the backbone of the industrialsector of Pakistan and has contributed a lot in the regional growth especially in Punjab. The present study is aimed toassess the role of locational factors that have proven favorable in the growth and successful development of textileindustry in Jaranwala tehsil, Faisalabad district. An empirical research design was selected and Jaranwala tehsil waschosen as the study area. Both primary and secondary data sources were used, and primary data were collected througha fully-structured questionnaire. Five sample sites were selected, and 75 textile industries were visited, and data wereobtained by interviewing the administrative staff of the respective textile units. The collected data were further arrangedand tabulated by using Microsoft Excel 2010, SPSS 20; Paired sample T test was performed to check the significancebetween types of industries and factors affecting the location of surveyed textile industries. Distributional and thematicmaps were prepared with the help of Arc GIS 10.1. The result of the study showed that availability of raw material,cheap labor and better climatic conditions were the most favorable factors for the location of industries in the studyarea. The study recommends the further work on other types of industries following same pattern in order to understandtheir economic progress in regional growth and development of the study area.

The internet has undoubtedly become crucial to global growth as it vectors lots of opportunities. This study was motivated by the perception that Nigerian consumers prefer traditional over virtual shopping despite having internet access. This study sought to investigate the factors affecting the online buying behaviour of consumers in Abuja Metropolis. The study used purposive and convenience sampling technique to select 352 respondents. Primary data was collected with the aid of structured questionnaires. The data collected was analyzed using multiple regression analysis with the aid of the SPSS statistical tool. The study found that while on-time delivery has a positive and significant effect on the online buying behaviour of consumers in Abuja Metropolis, product quality was found to have a positive and insignificant effect on the online buying behaviour of consumers in Abuja Metropolis while the perceived risk was found to have a negative and significant effect on the online buying behaviour of consumers in Abuja Metropolis. The study concludes that on-time delivery, product quality, and perceived risk are the major factors affecting the online buying behaviour of consumers in Abuja Metropolis. The study, therefore, recommends that there is a need for companies utilizing online platforms for business operations to align the advantages of online shopping with traditional means of purchase, speed up the delivery processes, and as much as maintaining a high degree of confidentiality regarding their customer’s information during the process of online payment. In order to develop industrial sector, Kota Bandung develop ten industrial and trades areas. One of the industrial and trades area is Binong Jati Knitting Industrial and Trade Centre, which is potentially in absorbing  the employment. The objectives of the study are to identify the condition of  Binong Jati Knitting Industrial and Trade Centre today and to analyze relationship between labor absorption and several economic variables in Binong Jati Knitting Industrial and Trade Centre. This research use primary data which collected from 55 business unit as a sample from 120 population. Analysis method is descriptive statistic and linier  regression. According to our field observation and interview, most of the unit business in Binong Jati Knitting Industrial and Trade Centre is small and middle scale industries. In term of number of employment,  Binong Jati Knitting Industrial and Trade Centre is in the second rank after Cibaduyut Shoes Industrial Centre. In recent years, units business and  number of workers has decreased.  According to regression analysis, in  Binong Jati Knitting Industrial and Trade Centre, size of employment is negativelly related with wage rate, positively related with price of raw material, number of sales, labor productivity, and number of machine units.

Intense competition has made it critical for airlines to retain its highly capable staff by ensuring the highest job satisfaction of its employees. This competition has resulted from the emergence of budget airlines focussed on a niche market. To provide a differentiated passenger experience whilst flying with airlines, the management should ensure that all the staff, including ground level and cabin crew, who are the initial contact point with customers are highly satisfied in terms of their job roles. The study evaluates human resource (HR) factors affecting job satisfaction with a given (anonymous) airline. A detailed study and analysis of major factors contributing to job satisfaction in the said airline was carried out. In analysing the relationship and current level of job satisfaction, the study uses a quantitative approach, with primary data obtained from questionnaires completed by employees in one of the airlines. Further, the study has identified independent variables as being financial rewards and recognition, training and development, and work environment. Statistical tools, such as correlation and regression analysis, are used to evaluate the responses from questionnaires and to provide significance of the independent variables contributing to job satisfaction.
